During the Battle of the Scheldt, he single-handedly captured 93 German soldiers. Major received his first Distinguished Conduct Medal in 1945 for single-handedly liberating the Dutch city of Zwolle. His overnight actions forced German forces to retreat, prompting the Allies to cancel a planned artillery bombardment on the city. He received his second medal six years later for capturing strategic hills in the Korean War.

So on October 2nd, an operation began to open the port of Antwerp for supply lines to the front. Canadian troops participated primarily in the operation. Within a month by early November they had achieved their objectives.[/p][p] [/p][p]October 5th — October 8th[/p][p]Battle of Vella Lavella[/p][p]On October 6th 1943, near Vella Lavella Island (Solomon Islands), Japanese naval forces covering the evacuation of infantry from the island engaged the Allies. The Allies inflicted a crushing defeat on Japan both on land and at sea, paving the way for the liberation of the Philippines.[/p][p] [/p][p]October 20th — October 23rd[/p][p]Second Battle of El Alamein[/p][p]By the end of the summer of 1942, the Axis offensive in North Africa had been halted, and Marshal Rommel’s subordinates went on the defensive. This was a decisive battle of the North African theater of operations, after which the strategic initiative completely passed to the Allies.[/p][p] [/p][p]October 23rd — October 27th[/p][p]Battle of Henderson Field[/p][p]In early August 1944, as part of the first American landing on Guadalcanal, an airfield under construction was captured. It was named after Lofton Henderson, a U.S. Marine Corps commander killed in the Battle of Midway. From October 23rd-26th, the Japanese attempted to recapture the airfield with a surprise ground attack supported by air and naval support. Several dozen Americans and between two and three thousand Japanese were killed in the battle. The remaining Wehrmacht forces in the city only capitulated on February 13th.[/p]

Steam Game Recording Support for War Thunder!

[p][/p][p]Steam Game Recording Support for War Thunder![/p][p]With this week’s release of Tusk Force, we added support for Steam’s new Game Recording feature to War Thunder. This is a built-in recording function on Steam, where you can save videos and share them with your friends. [/p][p][/p][p]Today we wanted to make a simple step-by-step guide on how you can record your very own War Thunder videos, right here on Steam![/p][p][/p]
Step 1: Enable Steam Game Recording
[p][/p][p]By default, recording will be off. You’ll need to turn on Game Recording, there are two ways to get to this setting:[/p]
  • [p]From the Steam client: Steam > Settings > Game Recording[/p]
[p]or[/p]
  • [p]From in-game: Open the Steam overlay (Shift + Tab) and click on the Game Recording button at the bottom[/p][p][/p]
[p]Once you navigate to this setting, you can either choose “Record in Background” or “Record Manually”.[/p][p][/p][p]When you turn on one of the recording settings, Steam will show you several recording options. You can change the keybinds, set the quality, choose the recording folder, encoding, frame rate, delete recorded videos to free up drive space, and more. It’s up to you to decide which settings work best for you.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Step 2: Recording War Thunder videos
[p][/p][p]If you’ve enabled “Record in Background”, War Thunder will be recorded while you have the game open. To get a visual sense of what occurred while you were playing, open your Steam overlay and a timeline will be shown at the top. Here you can see various icons and colors of what happened in your session.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]The “Record in Background” option will record the last 120 minutes of video in a temporary format. The “Record Manually” option only starts recording when you press Ctrl + F11 (default key). [/p][p][/p]
[p]When you close War Thunder, the the recorded portion will show in the “post-game summary” section for War Thunder in the Steam library. Here you can also open the timeline and save clips without needing to open the Steam overlay while in game.[/p]
[p][/p][p]Important: If you’d like to keep a section of gameplay, or want to to share it with your friends, you’ll need to create clips of the recorded gameplay on the timeline. More on how to do that below.[/p][p][/p]
Understanding the Timeline colors
[p][/p][p]The timeline shows different colors, each with a meaning so that you can identify parts of your recording:[/p]
  • [p]Light blue = playing in a battle[/p]
  • [p]Light blue striped = in the spawn screen in a battle[/p]
  • [p]Dark blue = loading in or out of a battle[/p]
  • [p]Dark blue striped = in the hangar[/p]
[p][/p]
Icons on the timeline for important events
[p][/p]
[p][/p]
[p][/p]
[p][/p]
[p]When you destroy an enemy, it shows a yellow sight. You can hover over this icon to see the ammo type you used, and the enemy you destroyed.[/p]
[p]When you capture a zone, it will show a “D” point icon. You can hover over this icon to see more details about your capture.[/p]
[p]When you get destroyed, it will show a skull and bones icon. You can hover over this icon to see the exact vehicle and ammo that destroyed you.[/p]
[p][/p]
Placing markers
[p]Want to remember a significant moment in battle? You can place your own markers on the timeline so that you can come back to the recording later to rewatch or make a clip. Simply right-click on the timeline and place the marker.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Taking Screenshots
[p]Prefer to take a screenshot instead? You can take a screenshot of a moment in the recording. Simply right-click on the timeline and select screenshot, which will save it to your usual Steam screenshot folder.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
Step 3: Creating clips of your recordings
[p]So you’ve just had the battle of your life, you recorded it with this new feature and want to share it with your friends. This can be done by creating clips of the recordings. To create a clip, access the timeline either from your Steam library (post-game summary) or open the Steam overlay as mentioned above. Then:[/p]
  1. [p]Right click on the timeline and click “Start Clip”.[/p]
[p][/p][p][/p][p] 2. Drag the yellow bar on the timeline to highlight the section that you want to save as a clip. Here, we’ve highlighted the timeframe where we destroyed three enemies.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p] 3. Click on the yellow “Save / Share” button and choose where you’d like to save it. Tada! If you pick the “Export Video file...” option, the .mp4 clip will be exported to your PC and then you can share it with your friends in all your usual places, such as Discord.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]That’s pretty much it! We hope this basic guide clarified how to enable recording and how to record War Thunder videos to share with your friends. Give it a try, look around the settings and see what’s best for you, and we look forward to seeing the clips that you’ve shared on all platforms![/p]

Update 2.49.0.27

  • [p]F-15E — a bug that caused the targeting pod to display in the X-ray has been fixed. (Report).[/p]
  • [p]Hunter F.58 (Germany) — a bug that caused the Flz Lwf LB 82’s missile seeker sight to have a decreased zoom in view has been fixed. (Report).[/p]
  • [p]Milan — a bug that caused a part of the fuselage near the engine to become transparent has been fixed.[/p]
[p] [/p]
Ground Vehicles
• [p]The tech tree changes that were previously announced with the Battle Rating changes have been made:[/p]
    • [p]China: The T-34-85/85 Gai folder has been moved from Rank IV to Rank III.[/p]
    • [p]The M36/ISU-122 folder has been moved from Rank IV to Rank III.[/p]
    • [p]USSR: The Object 268 has been grouped with the Su-122-54.[/p]
  • [p]A bug that caused the overpressure damage to no longer apply for opentop vehicles in some cases has been fixed.[/p]
  • [p]Tan-SAM Kai — a bug that prevented the selected missile type to automatically switch to the next one when the missiles of the first type were expended has been fixed.[/p]
  • [p]A bug that caused the survivability skill to not be taken into account in the hit analysis has been fixed.[/p]
[p] [/p]
Locations and Missions
• [p]\[Operation] Malta, \[Operation] Defending Stalingrad — a bug where Fighter-class aircraft could not spawn in these missions (whereas Interceptor, Air Defense Fighter, and other classes still could) has been fixed.[/p]
  • [p]Afghanistan — the air spawn altitude has been increased so that aircraft don’t spawn facing the mountain.[/p]
  • [p]AI-controlled Abrams tanks in test drives now have APFSDS shells loaded in the racks, instead of HEAT for the sake of being consistent with the damage of the AI-controlled Leopard 2 tank when the ammo in the rear of the turret is destroyed. HEAT shells can explode when damaged and if there are enough of them in the rack, the explosion will be powerful enough to penetrate a bulkhead and destroy the tank, despite the presence of blowout panels. While APFSDS shells on the other hand can only catch fire and the tank can survive the ammunition burnout as long as the bulkhead between the rack and fighting compartment is not penetrated.[/p]
[p] [/p]
Interface
• [p]A bug where radar target markers on ground vehicles could extend beyond the radar indicator has been fixed.[/p]
  • [p]A bug that caused the messages about vehicle hits or destruction and warning messages to overlap the cursor in third-person view when the compass was enabled has been fixed.[/p]
  • [p]A bug that made it impossible to collapse the active order information block in battle when in spectator mode has been fixed.[/p]
  • [p]A bug that caused the buttons with long control hints to move on top of the radar display on aircraft has been fixed.[/p]
  • [p]A bug that caused the “Horizontal speed” setting in the Helicopter battle settings to affect all aircraft has been fixed.[/p]
[p] [/p]
Graphics
• [p]A bug that caused the mode switching of one of the MFDs in the cockpit to cause others to flicker has been fixed.[/p]
[p] [/p]
Sound
• [p]9K317M “BUK-M3” — a bug that caused all other game sounds to disappear for a few seconds after the missile was launched has been fixed.[/p]
  • [p]A bug that caused the sound of the tank ammunition burnout to fade out too quickly with distance has been fixed.[/p]
[p] [/p]
Customization
• [p]A bug that made it impossible to place the “A.F.V. 601 Crewman Helmet (Israel)” decoration on any vehicle has been fixed. (Report).[/p]
