Weyrdlets will become a premium game on March 17, 2026.
Existing players will automatically keep full access to the game with no progress lost and no features locked.
[p][/p][p][/p]

[p][/p]
Why we're making this change
[p][/p][p]When Weyrdlets first started, it was a small desktop pet experiment. Over the past (almost) two years, it’s grown into something much bigger, and that’s entirely because of you.[/p][p] [/p][p]Today, Weyrdlets includes:[/p]
- [p]Over 1,000 in-game items[/p]
- [p]Farming orchards and fishing[/p]
- [p]Desktop microgames[/p]
- [p]Multiplayer games & Sports Day[/p]
- [p]Worble pet racing[/p]
- [p]A social hub[/p]
- [p]Productivity widgets[/p]
- [p]And a lot more than we ever planned at the start[/p]
[p] [/p][p]Along the way, many of you told us you actually
prefer paid games over free-to-play, especially on Steam. We hear you! Moving to a paid model helps us continue developing the game long-term without pushing aggressive monetisation or compromising the cozy experience that everyone has come to expect.[/p][p][/p]

[p][/p]
What this means going forward?
[p][/p]
- [p]From 17th March 2026, Weyrdlets will be a premium game on Steam[/p]
- [p]Existing players keep full access to the paid version[/p]
- [p]Weyrdlets 2.0 will launch with a reworked economy:[/p]
- [p]Items will be more affordable[/p]
- [p]All items will be unlockable and purchasable via Calcubot[/p]
- [p]Oskar will stop hoarding items seasonally[/p]
- [p]Optional DLCs will be introduced later as meaningful expansions, not pay-to-win content[/p]
[p] [/p][p]✨If you’ve purchased
Jellystars, you’ll
continue to own them. ✨[/p][p][/p][p]This change is about giving the game a healthier future so it can keep growing with the community that shaped it. We’re committed to continuing development and making Weyrdlets better with every update! Thank you for supporting our game. It genuinely means a lot to us. ❤️[/p][p][/p][p][/p]

[p][/p][p][/p]
FAQ / Additional Questions

I downloaded Weyrdlets before but haven’t played in a while. Do I still get the paid version?
[p]Yes. As long as Weyrdlets is already in your Steam library before
17th March 2026, you’ll automatically own the paid version.[/p]

Will I lose any progress, pets, or items?
[p]No. Your progress, pets, items, Jellystars, and everything you’ve earned will stay exactly the same.[/p]

What happens to new players after the change?
[p]New players will need to purchase Weyrdlets on Steam before playing.[/p]

How much will the game cost?
[p]We’ll share the price closer to launch. Our goal is to keep it fair and accessible, especially for a cozy, long-term game.[/p]

Will future updates cost extra?
[p]Core updates, improvements, balance changes, and events will remain part of the base game.
Optional DLCs will be clearly labelled and designed as expansions and not required purchases.[/p]

Will Weyrdlets become pay-to-win?
[p]No. Avoiding pay-to-win design is very important to us. Progression and items are designed to be earned through gameplay, not locked behind payments.[/p]

Are multiplayer and the social hub still included?
[p]Yes. Multiplayer features and the social hub will remain part of the core Weyrdlets experience.[/p]

Why not just rely on Jellystars or other monetization instead?
[p]We explored different options, but moving to a paid base game felt like the most transparent and sustainable approach especially for players who prefer a one-time purchase over ongoing monetization.[/p]

Where can I ask more questions or share feedback?
[p]You can reach us on:[/p]
