First Patch: Bug Fixes, Improvements, and Balance

First patch is a small one to address a few bugs that were reported by the community (especially those with the most negative impact), as well as a few minor balance updates.

Lastly, on Iron+ difficulty, you'll get to choose which vendors you want to visit rather than having to restart if you don't like your choices in town.

- Cutscenes now respect master volume setting
- Fixed a crash related to the Swampalina boss fight
- The 'Peaceful' feat should now trigger properly, even if a minion attacks
Future Updates
We've got more content planned for Bramble in the coming months, including new heroes and new cards. Other possibilities include new difficulty levels, etc. Let us know in the comments what type of content you'd most like to see!

Welcome to the Bramble Royale!

It's been a long road but we're finally here: the 1.0 release of Meteorfall: Bramble Royale!

We're proud to share that everything you see in Bramble Royale was 100% created by humans: all the art, sound, code, etc. was created by actual people and not AI.
Welcome to the Arena!
We're excited to welcome you all to the Bramble Royale tournament - an inaugural tournament of heroes from all across Meteorfall, competing to win the legendary Mask of the Uberlich. The tournament is hosted by the titular Bramble and his good pal Grimble.
Do you have what it takes to win the Bramble Royale?
Bramble Royale is a fast-paced deck builder set in the world of Meteorfall. You start by choosing a team and then over the course of a run, you'll battle other teams, customize / upgrade your deck, and then battle another team until you make you way to the end of the tournament. Win or lose, you'll start over at the end with a new team.

Each run is a bit different, in typical roguelike fashion. There are different enemy teams you'll face, the cards you're offered are different, etc... The goal is that the game should be replayable for months to come.

There are A LOT of deck builders out there and we didn't want to just clone what's already there. From Day 1, Bramble Royale was built to feel fast-paced and fresh.

 • Team-based. Your card & perk pool is determined by your team. New combinations of heroes can unlock strategies.
 • Any hero can use any card: even if 'belongs' to another hero. This helps make the game faster paced and unlocks a lot of interesting strategies.
 • Modular upgrades. You can mix and match upgrades on cards. Lots of really wild combos you can pull off with clever use of upgrades.
 • Play a card, draw card. There are two types of cards in Bramble Royale: Items and Abilities. With abilities, you automatically draw a card when you play them, giving you a ton of inherent card draw. This helps quickly cycle through your deck and helps the game feel more dynamic.
 • Grid based tactics. Positoning matters - put units behind your tanks or move units around the battlefield to influence where enemy hits land.

We think the result is something unlike any other deckbuilder you've played and hopefully brings some new ideas to the genre.
OK, so what is Meteorfall exactly?
Bramble Royale is the third game in a series of games called Meteorfall. The first was simply called Meteorfall and released on iOS/Android in 2017. Krumit's Tale (Steam/iOS/Android) followed in 2020.

Although the games all take place in the world of Meteorfall, all the games are quite different! We pride ourselves on creating new, unique mechanics for each game with similar themes unifying the games. For instance, all the games involve deck building mechanics, a roguelike 'run-based' gameplay, etc... Additionally, there is significant overlap between the characters.
What's Next for Bramble Royale?
This isn't the road for Bramble Royale. We plan to support the game with a number of free content updates. That includes new cards and most importantly, new heroes! We're in the process of prototyping some new mechanics for these new heroes and our goal is to really push the envelope with the hero design so that they feel totally different than any of the other heroes.

Naturally, we'll be checking the Reddit / Discord / Bluesky for all the great community feedback and using that to help inform the Bramble Royale roadmap.

And of course, we're also thinking about what's after that. We're already cooking on some ideas for the 4th Meteorfall game, so stay tuned for more on that!
Thank You!
Whether you're new to the Meteorfall series of games or you've been following us since the release of the original Meteorfall in 2017, we'd like to give a big THANK YOU for all of the support! Game dev is often fun in the beginning and becomes a slog to make it through the last 10% to release.

One thing that helped was all the reactions and excitement from fans as we posted updates on the game's progress, concept art, etc... Knowing there was a group of folks who were looking forward to more Meteorfall really helped us power through to the end. Feeling grateful for all of you!

Bramble Royale launches March 26!

It's been a long road but the wait is almost over - Bramble Royale is coming to Steam on March 26! We're so excited to share Bramble Royale and so grateful for all of the support of Meteorfall over the past few years.

And as a reminder, Bramble Royale is participating in Steam Next Fest with a great new demo featuring Moko - a brand new hero in the Meteorfall universe.

Steam Deck & Gamepad Support for Bramble Royale

We're excited to share that Bramble Royale will feature full Steam Deck & gamepad (XBox) support at launch!

One of the goals during development was to have a quality Steam Deck implementation right at launch, instead of being added on after the fact. That meant rethinking some of the UI and putting in hours of play on the Steam Deck to iron our potential issues: small text, missing support, etc... The result is a polished implementation that quickly became one of our favorite ways to play.

For those of you who have a Steam Deck or prefer to play with a gamepad - let us know what you think later this month during Steam Next Fest! You'll have the opportunity to try a brand new Bramble Royale demo with full Steam Deck support then.
