Progress Report #1
Kit9 Studio - Progress Report
Happy new year. Here is the first progress report for 2024.
Scheduling
The current plan is to try to get progress reports out on the first week of each month. Ideally the first day if no delays are encountered.

Since the build is quite stable now, general patches will also be aimed to ship the same day as the report. With the exception of urgently needed hotfixes.

This should help keep things consistent and predictable for those following the development progress.
Branch Confusion
Based on impressions from some discussions regarding how episode 2 ends, there is confusion about the differences between the episode 3 branches.

It might be worth clarifying, that the endings of episode 2 are not indicators of a "good" or "bad" ending trajectory. Decay and Burial will be two entirely unique story branches. Each will have a variety of outcomes of their own.
Next Work
There is an audio playback fix that is still pending. It was postponed, as it needs more stress testing. This might come in the next patch.

Another thing being evaluated for the near future is a pair of quality of life features. One being better saved game labels, and the other a chapter selection menu. It is too early to say when this will be completed and ready to ship, as it needs to be very thoroughly tested to avoid breaking game data as much as possible.
Minor Patch
This month's patch corrects a fair number of typos, and fixes a couple minor gameplay related issues.

Welp, I'm gonna climb up to my ivory tower now, never to be seen again.

Kit9 Studio will take care of all the business things as well as programming, which allows me to focus on creating the story and art in blessed silence. The game will be better for it, since my attention won't be divided all over the place anymore. And no, again, I'm not changing the story. The fear over this is pretty intense, lol.

With all that said, I truly appreciate your support, and hope the coming episodes will bring you some morbid joy to brighten your days with.

Thank you and take care!
