Luminous Skies: Hotfix 1/31

Fixed Lesser Recuperation skill to work as intended [LS:P]

Adjusted Lesser Recuperation skill to remove wounded and bleeding status effects. [LS:P, LS:ASA, LS:H]

We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We hope you continue to enjoy the game and have a good day.

Luminous Skies: February 2024 updates

Earlier this year Valve announced they would allow the use A.I. generated content in software published on their platform.

With that in mind, I will NOT be pursuing the use of A.I. in my games.

At best, the technology is still in its early stages, containing various legal and ethical issues along with it. More importantly, I feel like it would stunt my growth as a developer.

On to the updates:

Improved map files for the secret forest map [LS:P]

In order to move forward, we have implemented the updated journal system into A Short Adventure and Horizons [originally kept in there as a museum piece more than anything]. It can be found in Citra's basement along with the other diagnostic options [LS:ASA, LS:H].

Added Cass as a recruitable character to Horizons. She's based on a prototype of one of my characters. After realizing she was radically different person from what she became, I realized there was some extra story potential there. She can be found at the Shorehaven Port. [LS:H]

Re-branded the paid DLC for A Short Adventure to Luminous Skies: Horizons [abbreviated LS:H]

Fixed error when initially loading both Maple and Ives Briar that prevented their full names from showing up in Horizons. [LS:H]

Why the re-brand?

I had always planned on making a direct sequel to events found in the Pilgrimage. After reviewing things, I found it would be more efficient to add it onto the existing DLC.

Will there be any changes that I should be concerned about?

Yes and no. The price will eventually be raised to $4.99 USD [or the equivalent price based on your region]. While it is a significant increase, it is far less than the original projected price. If you've already purchased Horizons, you'll have all the content. If you've missed out on the discounted price, worry not, it will be on discount again. Please note that some of the encounters, in the new areas, may be subject to change as the story unfolds and updates are rolled out.

We hope you are enjoying the game and have a great day.

Luminous Skies: The Pilgrimage mini game update

We added a small mini game to Luminous Skies: The Pilgrimage called cargo claimer. The player will need the four original party members in their group in order to participate and will need to visit the Imperial Capitol Port.

Sift through cargo crates. Game score and loot will vary depending on the party member placed in charge of sorting the crate.

Be warned that there may be dangers lying in wait within those crates...

The Steam Winter sale is still going on until January 4th and this DLC in particular is on sale.

Patch Notes:

Added Cargo Claimer mini game [LSP]

Fixed Clipping issue on one of the maps [LSP]

Slightly decreased resource use on overworld map [LSP]

Fixed Airship in unknown lands area [LSP]

We hope you are enjoying the game and have a great day.

Discount on Luminous Skies: The Pilgrimage through January 4th

Just a quick notification: a discount for Luminous Skies: The Pilgrimage [DLC] is already underway.

If you haven't picked it up, this Standalone DLC will be discounted by 10% until January 4th.

We just released a major update and this would be a great opportunity to experience it for yourself.

If you aren't certain, you are more than welcome to play or continue playing Luminous Skies: A Short Adventure and enjoy our activities there.

In either case, there are holiday themed events to enjoy in both A Short Adventure and the Pilgrimage.

I hope you have enjoying yourself and have a great day.

Luminous Skies: 12/18 Update

Well, I obviously omitted that I would have a few more updates.

With this batch of updates, several new features have been added.

Enara is now recruitable at the Winterholme Inn if you have the DLC for A Short Adventure. She is a Spellsword/Spellbade class. She uses magic to enhance her martial abilities with a wooden sword.

Initially, being able to select to have both the Male and Female Briar in the party was a test feature that I left in the DLC version of the game. This eventually evolved into them getting different names to tell them apart [Ives and Maple]. It is now available in the base game [although, they both are the same class (Guardian)].

When both are picked up, you will be prompted to designate which you are a playing as [This will help going forward when new zones and quest areas are released]. If you've already found both Ives and Maple, and have them in your party, the diagnostic tool [see below] will be able to make the appropriate adjustments [Protag Select and Character Restoration].

If you haven't found it in the DLC yet, there is a box in the barracks when you enter the simulation portal in Citra's basement. This will allow you to pick up the other Briar and select their class.

If you're just attempting it without the DLC, there is a book at the end of the puzzle room [if you go the wrong way through the last maze].

What started out as a gag feature has turned into its own questline. In an attempt show to how they both came to be, Ives and Maple are now recruitable party members for Luminous Skies: The Piligrimage. This instance of time travel should be *mostly* fine [so long as they don't disrupt any major events]. Each character can swap between two classes [Ives: Spellsword and Shepherd] [Maple: Spellsword and Druid].

While you're here, please enjoy our Chirstmas Themed Holiday events. For those playing A Short Adventure, festive decorations can be activated by going to the Winterholme inn. And those who have the Pilgrimage, the same can be done at the Frostwind inn and this also activates a winter themed dungeon to explore.

Patch Notes:
Added the ability to pick both characters in all versions of A Short Adventure

Added an NPC to the Shorehaven [LS:ASA all versions, LS:P]

Added Maple and Ives Briar as recuitable characters in The Pilgrimage [LS:P].

Added additional dialogue after completing a quest in Thorn Creek to highlight what happens when the timeline is tampered with too much [LS:P].

Added Enara as a recruitable character [LS:ASA DLC]

Added a toggle option for which character the player wants to show up in cutscenes [LS:ASA all versions, LS:P]. This can be found in the attic in Frostwind [LS:P] and Citra's basement [LS:ASA]

We hope you are enjoying the game, have a great day, and Merry Christmas.
