Path Of Exile 2 is now so huge it's "a completely separate game"

When Path Of Exile 2 was first announced in 2019, it was billed as an extra large expansion patch to the original game - an update, so to speak, rather than a standalone sequel. Since then, however, the scope of Grinding Gear Games action RPG has grown so much in the intervening years that they've now decided to make it a "completely separate game". The news comes from tonight's ExileCon, which also marks the first time we've seen Path Of Exile 2 in action since that original announcement.

ExileCon schedule: how to watch for the Path of Exile 2 beta start date




2023's been an outstanding year for game announcements, and we're not quite done yet—at least for Path of Exile fans. Their big day is almost here as Grinding Gear Games celebrates its ExileCon convention this weekend in Auckland, New Zealand. We don't have a ton of details just yet aside from a pair of snazzy trailers, but here we'll go over what we do know and tell you how you can check out all the streamed news from the convention...

ExileCon 2023 Starts Soon!

Very soon, we’ll kick off ExileCon 2023, where we will reveal everything there is to know about Path of Exile 2 and the upcoming 3.22 Path of Exile expansion.

The official livestream begins at 2:30PM Friday 28th July (PDT) with a 30 minute pre-show. The keynote presentation will begin at 3PM Friday 28th July (PDT). You can follow the countdown timer on the front page if you’re unsure - the keynote starts when this countdown ends! If you’ve missed our schedule, check it out here.

For those who are attending ExileCon in person, we wanted to remind you that you will need to pick up your tickets by showing the QR code found on your Path of Exile account page or the email we have sent you at the registration area inside Aotea Centre, with signage in Aotea Square to direct you.

You can find the registration tent opening hours as well as everything else you need to know in this news post.

As we mentioned last week we have set up Twitch Drops for the viewers of ExileCon watching live on Twitch. Attendees will receive codes for these as well as an exclusive ExileCon microtransaction in their swag bags, so you don't need to open the stream while you’re at the event. You will be able to receive these by linking your Path of Exile account to your Twitch account and watching any ExileCon livestream at http://twitch.tv/pathofexile or in the Path of Exile category.

To receive the Raven Demon Wings, you will need to watch any channel streaming ExileCon for at least one hour between 3PM July 28th PDT and 4:30PM July 28th PDT.

To receive the Heartseeker Portal you will need to accumulate four hours watch time on any ExileCon stream over the weekend, ending at 10PM July 29th PDT.

[h2]Linking your Path of Exile Account to Twitch[/h2]



After you’ve accumulated enough watch time to earn your Heartseeker Portal and/or Raven Demon Wings, you must redeem them from your Twitch Inventory before the promotional period ends. You will then find them in your microtransaction list in Path of Exile.
