Path Of Exile's new expansion Echoes Of The Atlas is out now

After a short delay to scuttle out of Cyberpunk 2077’s way in December, Path of Exile has booted its newest expansion Echoes Of Atlas out the door today. Path Of Exile’s update 1.13 is live now, adding a good chunk of new features including new maps, new endgame boss, and new passive skill trees.

Path of Exile: Echoes of the Atlas Launches Soon

Our 3.13.0 expansion, the Echoes of the Atlas, launches in less than a day! We're excited to see you completing Rituals in order to receive valuable rewards and challenging yourselves in dangerous endgame encounters with The Maven. In this news post we've gathered all the information you'll need to know about what happens on launch day .

The realm goes down and patching begins at 8am 15 January PST
The servers go live at 11am 15 January PST

The patch size for the update will be around 13GB on the Steam client.

If you're looking for some extra character slots for the launch, we're running a sale on these right now! This is also your last chance to get Twilight Mystery Boxes! It will leave the store when our next mystery box becomes available! Keep in mind that if you haven't taken advantage of it yet, it's still possible to get a free Twilight Mystery Box when you spend any amount of points in the store. NOTE: this is only possible once per account. Additional purchases do not grant additional mystery boxes. If you need some extra points, we recommend checking out the Ritual supporter packs.

By the way, we've added the full list of Atlas passives including small nodes in this news post so you can have it handy in one place.

In case you still haven't decided which build to play with, check out the Class subsections on the forum for suggestions from the community. Many of our community streamers are also providing build guides on YouTube.

For those of you who want to compete with other players in the upcoming expansion, Zizaran has organised the HC SSF Maven Kill Event which starts alongside the release of the expansion! The prize pool includes $40,000USD cash as well as microtransaction prizes. Find out more in this news post. We will update the post with an additional prize pool for console players next week.

If you're not able to play the game on launch day, be sure to check out our community streamers on Twitch! See you at launch!

Echoes of the Atlas Patch Notes, Item Filter and Passive Tree Information

The full patch notes for Path of Exile: Echoes of the Atlas are now available!

In order to help you prepare your builds and item filters we've also gathered the Passive Tree and Item Filter information.
Passive Tree Data
We've listed the changes to the passive tree in the Patch Notes but if you're a community tool creator, you can find the JSON data here. If you're not sure what to do with this information, don't worry too much! We'll update Path of Exile's built-in item filter in the game and the Passive Skill Tree on the website alongside the launch of the Echoes of the Atlas expansion.
Item Filter Information
We've created a web page with Item Filter syntax for your reference. Check it out here.
Item filter functionality
• Added support for optional "operator values" for the HasExplicitMod and HasEnchantMod rules which can be used to filter for items that have the specified amount of modifiers. There must be no space between the operator and its value.
 • Added ability to scale the volume of CustomAlertSound. Valid range is 0-300, default volume is 100 (if unspecified).
 • Added ability to filter cluster jewels by the number of passive skills it grants. Note that this is specifically filtered on the enchant mod "Adds X passive skills". It does not factor in Unique/Rare mods that add extra passives, nor does it count Jewel sockets.

Path of Exile: Echoes of the Atlas - Zizaran's Maven Kill Event

We're teaming up with community streamer Zizaran once again to host the Echoes of the Atlas Boss Kill Event, where Path of Exile players can compete to kill our newest endgame boss, The Maven, while playing in Ritual HC SSF mode. Zizaran has arranged $40,000 for the event's prize pool. On top of cash prizes for players, there are also microtransaction prizes provided by us.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
How to Participate
This event runs for the first month of the Ritual league, starting on January 15 (PST). Only characters playing in the Ritual HC SSF League will be counted for the cash prize.

We are creating two custom ladders (order and number of kills of The Maven) and will link them from this post once the Ritual expansion is deployed and the ladders are available.
Cash Prizes
The cash prize pool will be distributed by Zizaran as follows:

 • 1th Place: $10,000
 • 2th Place: $5,000
 • 3th Place: $2,500
 • 4th Place: $1,250
 • 5th Place: $750
 • 6th-10th Place: $550
 • 11th-15th Place: $350
 • 16th-25th Place: $250
 • First Atziri Kill: $500
 • First Uber Atziri Kill: $2000
 • First Shaper Kill: $1250
 • First Elder Kill: $750
 • First Uber Elder Kill: $2000
 • First Awakener Kill (8 Awakening Level): $2000
 • Deepest Delve: $3000 (calculated one month after the league starts)
 • Second Deepest Delve: $1500 (calculated one month after the league starts)
 • Third Deepest Delve: $750 (calculated one month after the league starts)
Randomly-drawn Microtransaction Prizes
Any player who kills the Maven in Ritual HC SSF within the first month will be eligible to win the below prizes. It's possible to win more than one per account. The number listed below is the total number of each microtransaction up for grabs.
 • 500 x 3.13 Mystery Boxes

25 players will win their choice of one of the following bundles:
 • Darkwood Armour, Darkwood Weapon, Darkwood Weapon Effect, Darkwood Aura, Darkwood Portal
 • Dragon Hunter Armour, Dragon Hunter Weapon Effect, Dragon Hunter Weapon, Dragon Hunter Aura, Dragon Hunter Portal
 • Stygian Armour, Stygian Weapon, Stygian Weapon Effect, Stygian Aura, Stygian Portal
 • Celestial Armour, Celestial Weapon, Celestial Weapon Effect, Celestial Aura, Shaper Portal
 • Automaton Lightning Armour, Automaton Weapon Effect, Automaton Weapon, Automaton Herald, Automaton Portal
Additional Rules
• Players who migrate from a private league to Ritual HC SSF during the event are ineligible for prizes.
 • Placings and prize eligibility are entirely at the discretion of Grinding Gear Games.
 • The winners of cash prizes must be able to receive a PayPal payment from Zizaran in order to be eligible to receive it.
 • While the event being SSF reduces a lot of scope for outside help, any form of account sharing (or other breaches of the Terms of Use) will disqualify a player from receiving prizes.
 • Grinding Gear Games Employees are not eligible for prizes.
 • Players who have played on the Alpha realm since January 7, 2021 (when the expansion was first deployed) are not eligible for prizes.
 • Only valid Maven kills in the Ritual HC SSF league are eligible for prizes. Dying or migrating your character out of the league doesn't remove prize eligibility as long as the kill occurred while in the league.

Big thanks to Zizaran, Viyro and their sponsors for putting on this event!
