8000 wishlists! Demo coming soon, new screenshots!

Hey everyone! I wanted to celebrate 8000 wishlists with a few new screenshots, including the one below.

By the way, the demo is near completion and is planned to publicly release in around 2-3 weeks! Stay tuned for when that comes out. We're excited for you all to get your hands on it!

Thanks for 7,000 Wishlists! Demo coming soon??

Hi all, thanks for helping us reach 7,000 wishlists on Angeline Era! We want to release a demo later this year - maybe February or March. Have any favorite streamers? Let them know about Angeline Era!

In the meantime we've been making many levels and working on the art, including a new model for Tets:

New Trailer for Angeline Era!

Hello, co-developer Melos here! Today, we've released a 2nd trailer, in conjunction with the Game Devs of Color Expo that starts today! Do check it out if you're curious to see some great games made by primarily POC-led teams!

Here's the trailer:

Other than that, we've broken 6,000 wishlists! So far this is our strongest pre-launch wishlisting campaign yet, so hopefully we can sell enough to remain afloat... ha ha ha! We were also featured in the EEK3 2023 Showcase - a spooky and horror-themed indie game showcase, featuring some of our friends' games as well.

So, what's new in Angeline Era? This summer has been full of level design for me, personally. I've written a song here or there, but primarily I've been getting into a groove and really nailing down the levels - and I'm really excited about the result. Levels range from 3 to 10 minute experiences, and you can enter them from wherever on the overworld. Some levels are linear and challenging - others are sprawling and goal-less - and some are dungeon-y with tricky navigation. There's all kinds of levels in this game, and I'm excited to share all the humorous and creative ideas we've come up with.

On Marina's end, she made significant progress on the script of the game, as well as progress on finalizing the art style (what we show in the trailer/this store page is a little out of date.) That'll be coming together very quickly soon, so I'm excited to show what's next!

NOW, if you've read this far...

Introducing the Overworld

Hey everyone! Melos, co-developer of Angeline Era here. Did you know the game has an overworld? It's where you'll enter a variety of levels - dungeons, forests, caves, towns - or perhaps strange, small clearings, campgrounds, and even farms.

Last week on Twitter, I posted a video showing how some of the overworld exploration works. You can watch it here:

In particular, by reaching the end of levels, sometimes the overworld will be updated - maybe trees will vanish, a bridge will be built, etc.

You'll need to keep an eye out for level entrances. However, not all level entrances will be easily visible! You may have to search to find some of them. A level could be laying just out of sight...

Well, it's back to working on the game. Development is going smoothly - please wishlist the game if intersted!
