Angeline Era, an Irish mythology inspired bumpslash action game from the devs behind Anodye, gets a December release date

I really don't think it's appreciated how much of a powerhouse Analgesic Productions are. Comprising just two developers, Melos Han-Tani and Marina Kittaka, their work always manages to present new takes on established genres, or games that have become genres. There's both Anodyne 1 and 2: Return To Dust, which borrows from various Zeldas in fresh ways, Sephonie, an involved and conscious take on the 3D platformer, and now Angeline Era, a nonlinear action-adventure game inspired by the early Ys games and Irish mythology, which just got a release date.

Action-Adventure game Angeline Era's releasing this year!

[p]Hi everyone! Melos from the dev team here. I forgot to announce this on steam, but we are planned for a Q4 2025 release!! Well, we can't announce the exact date yet... but barring any unexpected delays the game should be out this year! Hooray! Recently we've been finishing up the various cutscenes. Then we'll do a final art and testing pass to release the game.[/p][p][/p][p]Uh... right well that's all I have to say... you can wishlist it here...[/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]If you haven't yet, enjoy a photo of the overworld![/p][p][/p][p][/p]

39,000 Wishlists... and a Development Update 2025/08!!

[p]Hey all! Melos from the team here. We made a recent devlog post- if you're interested, just search "Melos Han-Tani Substack" on google and read the latest post![/p][p]But I'll summarize a bit here.[/p][p]So, we are on good progress for releasing this year - likely still November or December![/p][p]We may only be releasing in English first with a localized version coming in following months, although at a minimum we are trying to have Simplified Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese available at launch. Our remaining target languages (Russian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish) will be done if we make enough money.[/p][p]One big milestone for us is finishing the overworlds. Angeline Era has a lot of levels - between 8-20 hours for a single playthrough depending how thorough you are. Here's a preview of one of the first overworld areas:[/p][p][/p][p]Outside of that, I finished the music, a bunch of SFX, and some test playthroughs of the game for design/bugtesting/narrative reasons. Marina on the art side has finished a bunch of new area, NPC, and enemy art, as well as some final writing for the game. We're hoping the game has a unique approach to story and lore! You can enjoy the main storyline, or explore all the areas and imagine for yourself what the backstories to the world are.[/p][p]Other than that, we hit 39,000 total wishlists! Honestly I couldn't ask for much more. I'm just hoping we can have a smooth rest of development for now as I go into some closed Beta testing.[/p][p]Please look forward to Angeline Era later this year! We'll also be keeping the demo up through release - which will retain its multiple translations.[/p][p]Anyways, if you'd like to support us till release, consider sharing a trailer with your friend groups.[/p]

Danchi Days Demo - check out our new summer adventure!

Hello, Analgesic fans! Melos Han-Tani here. Did you know I've been working on a 2nd game in addition to Angeline Era?
It's called Danchi Days! And we have a demo out now:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/3312850/Danchi_Days_Demo/

It's a slice-of-life adventure set in a 2000's Japanese setting, where you control a girl named Hoshino! You'll explore her neighborhood, while hoping to revive the local summer festival for her beloved grandmother. It's a moving story with a lot of memorable characters. I hope you'll like it!

I'm working on it with a separate team of 3 (gingham games), but publishing it under Analgesic. We'd love for you to try the demo out and leave a review!
