Gather 'round the campfire, Survivors! Everyone who’s played has a story about the first Bob they encountered on an ARK… Now the legendary ARK veteran Bob -- voiced by Karl Urban -- is ready to share his incredibly true adventures with you for the first time! Nothing can prepare you for the wonder and two-fisted action of Bob's Tall Tales!
Piece together Bob's larger-than-life ARK saga by recovering his animated Explorer Notes! You’ll feel like you were right there with Bob from the beginning, as he describes his pivotal role in ARK’s history to young Meeka -- voiced by Auliʻi Cravalho.

We're planning to release the first animated Explorers Notes on March 31st, pending certification. We'll keep you updated!

We've released an update this week to prepare for the upcoming Scorched Earth expansion. The goal is to get the changes out sooner so the Scorched Earth patch isn't as big to download on launch day and also helps our team identify issues before that major release! Check out the full post here.

Gigantoraptor is live!

Species: Gigantoraptor nutritor
Time: Late Cretaceous
Diet: Omnivore
Temperament: Territorial

Unless you’re planning to raid its nest, you shouldn’t let this creature’s imposing size worry you. Gigantoraptor may be fiercely protective of its brood, but it’s much more of a caregiver than a fighter.

Don’t get me wrong -- this theropod will use its sharp claws and surprising speed to defend its young when threatened. But Gigantoraptor has a soft heart for young ones -- it’ll even take in the orphaned babies of rival species.

Now for the bad news: to my knowledge, no one’s been able to figure out how to tame an adult Gigantoraptor – its unique disposition seems resistant to behavioral conditioning. However, Survivors bolder than me were able to sneak into nests to win the trust of their young, and they claim that reward is well worth the risk.

Once matured to adulthood, your tamed Gigantoraptor will happily look after any of your tribe’s young creatures, nurturing them and teaching them how to fight. It can even use its call to help you find orphaned baby animals out in the wild. If you bring those orphans home, then your Gigantoraptor will happily add them to its brood.

Gigantoraptor forms an inseparable bond with its young charges. Bring them into a fight together and they will defend each other, and your tribe, far more effectively than when apart.

Community Crunch 398: An Update on The Center, Oasisaur Dossier, and More!

We’ve made the decision to postpone the Center as it wasn’t on track to launch with the level of quality we require. Our dedicated partners – who have been working on the Center while we focus on Scorched Earth – need more time to make sure it meets our expectations, and yours. We’re sorry for this change in plans but we know it will be well worth it when the Center launches!

We’d like to offer something for you to sink your teeth into right now though! The Gigantoraptor, originally intended to debut alongside 'The Center', will be released on Wednesday, Feb 28th for all Survivors on The Island. We hope your new majestic companion will keep you company while you wait for its home-map to receive its glow-up. In preparation for Gigantoraptor launch on Wednesday, we’ll be releasing a major version patch on Monday.

Thanks as always for your support. We’re thrilled with what we have in store for ARK: Survival Ascended over the coming months and look forward to sharing it with you. Between the Gigantoraptor next week and Scorched Earth on April 1st, there’s plenty of fresh ARK content heading your way!

Species: Oasisaur zurzura Time: Unknown
Diet: Herbivore
Temperament: Friendly

Where do I start with Oasisaur zurzura? Like most of the unique wildlife I’ve encountered here, this flying island feels like something from legendary fantasy. It’s as big as a Titanosaur, but somehow it can still defy gravity!

My hunch is that Oasisaur consumes great bunches of vegetation at once, so a handful of berries wouldn’t be an enticing enough offering. You’d have better luck courting its affection with a topiary or potted shrub, as long as you’re ready to chase rival suitors off the behemoth’s back.

This roaming oasis carries soil on its back so fertile that anything planted in it will flourish, even if practically ignored. And that back seems like it has room enough for a small neighborhood...

This living landmass will nurture its longer-term inhabitants. That friendship is worth the time investment, because favored residents get access to a pool with truly miraculous properties. For starters, its restorative waters will cure bathers of nearly any illness or affliction.

Most unbelievably, the wellspring of an Oasisaur can reincarnate your lost animal friends! Whether by transcendental magic or access to the mysterious technologies of these ARKs, I’ve seen a fallen pet returned to newborn life by committing their essence to that rejuvenating pool.
