Mark your calendars, because on June 3rd, we're releasing The Center with Shastasaurus! This free expansion is like a whole new ARK world – double the size of The Island, that gorgeous Tolkien-fantasy feel, and tons of new surprises for you to uncover. In the meantime, you'll find us split up, tackling everything to make ARK: Survival Ascended its best. Some of us will be squashing Scorched Earth bugs, others are diving into the world of our upcoming free Aberration expansion, but the main force is powering through to bring you the epicness of The Center on June 3rd.

Do I need to pay for Scorched Earth?

• Answer: No, Scorched Earth is included in ARK: Survival Ascended. If you own ARK: Survival Ascended, you automatically have access to the map.

• Answer: Yes! You do not need to own Bob's Tall Tales to play on any servers that have Bob's Tall Tales content.

Scorched Earth Ascended introduces ARK players to a new desert realm with six distinct biomes, from dunes to oases, each brimming with unique ecosystems and aesthetics. This land rich in ruins, geysers, and ancient caves, offers a fresh challenge for exploration. Water, once abundant on The Island, becomes a critical and scarce resource on this ARK, challenging players to adapt their survival strategies to thrive in an arid environment.






Scorched Earth Ascended is teeming with perilous creatures ready for the daring survivor to tame. Unleash havoc on your foes from the back of an elemental Wyvern or master the art of riding a Fasolasuchus, a proto-croc that glides through sand as if it were water. But tread carefully—lest you rouse the fearsome Death Worm!






In the harsh landscape of Scorched Earth Ascended, survivors utilize scavenged resources to craft unique gear and structures for heat resistance, alongside innovative tools for survival. Whips, boomerangs, flamethrowers, chainsaws, and more become essential for defense, while tents, wells, wind turbines, and oil refineries enhance base sustainability. These tools not only bolster survival and defense but also enable grand strategies for tribal dominance.






Brace for electrical storms, sandstorms, and heat stroke, and tap into the Obelisks' power to challenge the ARK's fiercest boss yet—the fearsome Manticore. Does it guard a weapon, a relic, or the secrets of the ARK? Only the bravest survivors daring to face it will uncover the truth.




To keep things fair and fiery during those first few weeks, Scorched Earth Ascended will be a bit of a wild frontier. You'll only be able to bring your characters over for the first 60 days, you won't be able to bring any dinos or items onto the map. After the first 60 days, the gates swing wide open!

Venture into the skies of Scorched Earth with Oasisaur zurzura, a colossal yet gravity-defying island reminiscent of mythical legends. Beyond its sheer size and appetite for large vegetation, this airborne sanctuary cultivates life, with soil so fertile that it promises growth with minimal effort. Its back, vast enough for a small community, becomes a nurturing ground for those seeking refuge and companionship. The Oasisaur's most magical offering is a pool with healing waters, capable of curing ailments and even resurrecting lost animal friends.


We see the confusion in the community about Bob's Tall Tales and the estimated dates in the description, so we wanted to share a quick update.

Think of "Bob's Tall Tales" as the fun bonus chapters to the main story. The dates on the store page are rough timeframes for those wild Bob-centric adventures, not release dates for the main expansion content they tie into. Think of the expansions like the main course, and Bob's Tall Tales as the extra-spicy side dish.

Don't worry—the main canonical content is still on track. Scorched Earth will blast in on March 31st, and the rest of the roadmap is looking good. As development progresses, we'll be able to give better estimations for the rest of Bob's Tall Tales.

In the meantime, keep those detective skills sharp! There's always something to uncover in the ARK 😉
