Staging Build Now Open

Hi everyone, since some of you are really excited to see what is next, and we could always use help encountering the bugs that we inevitably create, we decided to open up our Production Testing branch of the game. This is where the newest stuff appears and we test it ourselves. If you want to join in the fun(?), then you can access the branch of the game by doing the following:

  • Go to your steam library
  • Right click on glyphica
  • Go to properties
  • Click on betas
  • Next to Beta participation, there is a dropdown menu (it should say None)
  • In the space under Private Betas type in the password below:
    RagingRacoonsInRed
  • You should then be able to click the dropdown menu and select staging - Proudction Testing Branch


Here are things to keep in mind before you join this branch. You will encounter the following:
-more bugs!
-first access to new content!
-possibly messing with your achievements!
-other stuff we can’t predict!

Do NOT join this branch if you want a smooth playing experience. You can of course join the branch first, then go back to no beta participation (redo the above procedure but click on None) to easily go back to the regular version of the game.

Bugfixes (v2024.10.21.001-BETA)

Hello Survival Typists!

We're back again with some more bugfixes for you!

BUGFIXES
--------
- Fixed crash due to Shooter projectile not resetting cyphered status after Trial 2 boss fight.
- Fixed boss loot does not respect loot requirements.
- Fixed half-typed words not cleared on trial completion.
- Add correct tag helper text and add tag-based spawn restriction on some rare loot that are missing them.
- If "Spaces & Punctuation" option turned off, accept all uppercase characters as lowercase (including Caps Lock)
- Fixed crash when switching to windowed mode on vertical monitor.
- Added two smaller resolutions to allow windowed mode on some vertical monitors.
- Detect and full-screen on the correct monitor on lower resolution multi-monitor setups.
- Changed level-up/evolution/re-roll key to "Enter" if "Spaces & Punctuation" set to "On" in options.
- Fixed Omen select screen not showing keyboard button hints when using keyboard arrows to navigate.

Bugfixes to Early Access Update 0.5 (quotation stopper)

Hello Survival Typists, our last mini update created some issues that we have now sorted. Please see below.

BUGFIXES
--------
- Fixed crash due to pickups not reseting cyphered status after Trial 2 boss.
- Use Space for levelup/evolution/reroll if "Spaces and Punctuation" option not turned on.
- Replaced all untypable single and double quotations in Trial 1/3 boss text.

BALANCING
---------
- Lowered opacity of non-crit damage numbers so screen is less cluttered.

Early Access Update 0.5 (Version: v2024.10.10.002-BETA

Hello Survival Typists!

We're here with a small balancing and bugfixes update before the bigger update we promised at the end of the month.

Differing DIfficulties
We've been obvserving your concerns about the difficulty of the game, both those who are struggling with the game's current difficulty and those who think it is just too easy because we don't force you to type spaces and punctuation during the Boss fights.

We're working on longer term solutions but for now we've come up with a compromise. You can toggle spacing and punctuation on or off in the settings menu if you want additional difficulty.

In addition, to lower the difficulty for the first boss, we've removed it's power to "lock" words with a shield when you first meet him. But when he comes back the second time he will have regained this power.

- Fixed Endless mode sometimes becoming inaccessible after beating Omen VI
- Fixed crash that happens in very late game when there is insufficient viable loot.
- Slight improve in performance from not generating cyphered strings when not in Trial II
- Prevent pickups (e.g. Shield and Re-roll) from spawning if total amount may exceed maximum allowable.
- Accept base alphabet as input for special characters. (e.g. "a" for "å")
- Added option to include uppercase characters, spaces and punctuation in boss fight.
- Moved level up, evolution and re-roll from Space to Ctrl in preparation of the above.
- Moved weapon details from F1 to Tab so that 60% or less keyboards can access them easily.

BALANCE

- Stopped Trial 1 Boss (Poet) from locking words during boss fight (it will start locking words again when you meet him at Trial 3)

FEATURES
--------
- Steam overlay announcement system on game start-up.

Fixed garbled program icon and crash on Steam Deck

Bugfixes:
- Program icon now renders properly in Windows & Mac targets.
- Fixed evolution level upgrades spawning in Omen II after 2nd evolution.
- Fixed game crashing on Steam Deck on start.
