Live broadcast of Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers during Steam Next Fest

Hello Tavern Dwellers,

It's been great seeing so many of you try out the new and improved demo, and the response to the new art direction has been great – we're happy you love it as much as we do! We've also hit the milestone of 50k wishlists now, so thank you very much for helping us reach that as it helps us out a lot!

We will be participating in Steam Next Fest from June 10th~, where Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers will be one of many great demos that you can check out during the festival! We'll also be running a Steam broadcast during the festival starting at 1PM PT / 9PM BST. Tune in by going to the store page to watch some of the Yogscast Network play the game!

Finally, if you've been enjoying the demo so far and want to keep up with future developments on the game, consider joining us on our Discord and become part of the community HERE!

Now live: v0.21c of the demo!

  • fixes a bug where clickable relics wouldn't play their activate animation when clicked
  • fixes Ace in the Hole having no suit at all instead of diamonds
  • fixes a bug where King of Space and Time could be played while the opponent had a Jack in play
  • fixes a bug where cards with Flexible were still Flexible after being transformed by Queen of Music
  • fixes a bug where Exploiting an opponent's Suit Yourself would cause a softlock
  • fixes a bug where Plate of Escardgot could not be Exploited after being unlocked by card other than itself
  • fixes a bug where cards in the Counterfeiter event were interactable before clearing the dialogue
  • fixes a bug where hovering a card and then using the hit/stand hotkey would leave the card tooltip on the screen
  • fixes a bug where input prompts were hidden behind the ID Cards for choosing next encounter
  • fixes Carduus acanthoides capitalisation (species should not be capitalised)
  • updates Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese localisation with a bunch of changes

Now live: v0.21a of the demo!

Tidying up a few things from the big v0.21 update:

Improvements
  • adds a loading animation to the start screen so you know it is still loading and hasn't crashed
  • changes Ace in a Hole to be a Diamond
  • changes Queen of Wonderland to not be able to target cards with a value of 0 (to match how Break Limits works)
  • adds a (left to right) clarifier to the pile order text
  • removes references to "play pile" in favour of "played cards"
  • fixes missing apostrophes for things like "opponent's side"

Glitched Card
  • fixes a bug where a Glitched Card copying King of Space and Time would softlock the game
  • fixes a bug where a Glitched Card copying a Jack would not count as a Jack for King of Space and Time
  • fixes a bug where Glitched Card would say that it could be Exploited when it couldn't if the previous card copied had Exploit
  • fixes a bug where Glitched Card wasn't copying "on bust limit exceeded" effects

Other bug fixes
  • fixes some buggy interactions between XVIII The Moon and 0 The Fool
  • fixes a bug where zeros didn't count towards possible negative card rewards
  • fixes a bug where Queen of Drag didn't have tooltip for "create"
  • fixes a bug where King of Space and Time listed the Rounds Up keyword
  • fixes a bug where Baseball Card adding Card Sleeve and Old Baseball Card to player's deck was not unlocking those cards in the Collection
  • fixes a bug where the windowed multiplier setting was sometimes usable while in fullscreen mode
  • fixes a bug where cards played via an opponent's SD Card would not trigger their on play effects
  • fixes a bug where saving to menu and then continuing while on the Collector or Lounge Gambler encounters would add extra copies of the cards they start with due to the previous event
  • fixes Master of One being at the end of the Collection, instead of at the end of the Face cards

Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers puts a new spin on Blackjack for deck-builder fans

Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers is a different kind of deck-builder and given the popularity of Balatro, this could be another fun one to try. Set in a tavern packed with the rough and ready, where everyone plays a very different version of traditional Blackjack.

Exciting news in the world of Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers!

Hello Tavern Dwellers,

We have been keeping our cards close to our chest as of late—but this is for good reason! We have some huge news and hope you are as excited about it as we are...

Firstly we are thrilled to announce we have an undergone complete art overhaul over the past few months and we are very happy with the results! We have kept all the pixel art charm of the original game we all know and love, but have given it a ton of personality. The game now looks very grimy and dank fitting in with the darker narrative tone and setting. This art has been created by Yogscast artists Harry, Nina-Serena, and Jack. This and an updated soundtrack by Element 27 really puts the finishing touches on the game!

Which brings us onto our next exciting announcement! We have signed a publishing agreement with Yogscast Games who will be partnering with us to launch Dungeons & Degenerate Gamblers later this year! We will still remain in full control of the game's direction but partnering with Yogscast Games has enabled us to overhaul the art in game as well as freeing up additional time by taking on some of the responsibilities we would have otherwise needed to handle ourselves. They also bring a lot of knowledge and experience to the table.

We also have a brand new trailer showcasing all the new art and some new content! Check it out below!

TRAILER!

If you want to check out the new version for yourself, you can! We have updated the previous demo with a brand new demo complete with the new art and a host of other improvements ahead of Steam Next Fest! So please do check by the tavern for a few rounds of Blackjack from now all the way through to Steam Next Fest!

and consider wishlisting the game on Steam, this helps us out a lot! Look forward to seeing you all in the tavern again soon!
