Werewolf: The Apocalypse — The Book of Hungry Names News

New DLC out now!

We're excited to announce new content for Werewolf: The Apocalypse — The Book of Hungry Names! Seek and Destroy is the latest DLC addition to the sprawling epic.

Seek and Destroy is on sale, along with the Book of Hungry Names base game, the Wardens and Furies DLC and Those Who Refuse to Die DLC, until April 17th!

Seek and Destroy unlocks the options to play as a member of the Red Talons tribe and the nomadic Silent Striders tribe.

And, in a special mission, 175,000 words long, hunt down a vampire who feeds off the weak and the helpless. Along the way, you'll uncover his connection to forgotten secrets of the Three Families and the bloodstained legacies they left behind.

Finally, at no additional charge, we've added support for poly relationships in The Book of Hungry Names. You asked for it, and you can now form a throuple with any two of Elton, Nin, Melodie, or Podge. That's six variations in all, all with unique dating and romantic experiences.

The whole game including all DLC now comes to a whopping 2.1 million words! Enjoy!

Finally, at no additional charge, we've added six gorgeous new character portraits to the game, including art for Scarper, Udolpho, Pembe, the drone, and Black Tarn (in both Homid and Lupus form).

Special thanks to Amy Wilkins for creating all of the character portraits in Werewolf: The Apocalypse — The Book of Hungry Names!

May 13th Patch

  • Stability improvements; at worst, this should only reset you to the beginning of the current chapter.
  • Dataweaver Gift should, at long last, be available to Glass Walkers
  • Holds-the-Dawn’s Gift should, at long last, be available to Shadow Lords
  • Character events are now showing up in the journal after their various grisly fates, not at the start of the relevant chapter
  • Fixed countless minor bugs and logical hiccoughs

We've mostly fixed the "reset on upgrade" bug

Today's build fixes a bug where players could lose significant progress when updating to a new version of the game. The nature of the bug was that the game wasn't "autosaving" at the start of each chapter, but only autosaving once near the very start of the game.

If you're upgrading from the May 6 version to today's version, you'll have no issue upgrading to the latest version. But if you haven't yet upgraded from the Apr 29 version to today's version, you will still lose progress when upgrading to today's version, because the Apr 29 version wasn't autosaving.

If you play through an entire chapter in today's May 8 version of the game, you'll record a valid autosave. Then, future updates will only rewind you to the start of the current chapter, (hopefully only a few minutes of progress lost,) instead of back to the start of the game.
