Devlog: Pyramid mechanics and game improvements

[p]Hi everyone![/p][p] It’s time for another update as we continue working on the full release with highly anticipated pyramid construction. We’ve been hard at work expanding Egypt Frontier’s systems and environments - and today, we’re excited to share what’s coming next.[/p][p]Let’s dive in:[/p][p]
[/p][h3]New Location in Progress: The Pyramid[/h3][p]Development on our final major environment - the pyramid construction site, is well underway.
We’ll be showcasing the construction in the next update (that will also contain information about 1.0 release), including gameplay footage and screenshots.[/p][p]
[/p][h3]New Mechanics: Workers and resource management[/h3][p][/p][p]Stone Transportation System Large-scale construction needs appropriately large resources, and the best way to transport them over short distances is sledges pulled over wooden beams. We have taken static sledge transports that you know from River Temple constructions and made them fully dynamic. This also includes placing large-scale objects, such as ramps, that will allow them to reach higher elevations.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p]Resource Transportation and Stockpiles
Based on productions placed in your base, you will receive transports of different resources - it will be vital to maximise base production so any workers available during pyramid construction can be assigned to more important jobs. Additionally, we have implemented stockpiles and on-foot porters that will move smaller resources where they are needed.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p][p]Workers' Needs [/p][p]We have implemented new mechanics based on workers' needs - energy and hunger that you will have to manage to fully utilise their strength. Tired workers won't work as fast and efficiently as those fully rested. You will be able to place additional buildings where they will be able to rest and eat to regain their full strength. Additionally, you will be able to place food to further boost their recovery.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Additional content: [/p][p]We are actively working on adding other new mechanics that include new perks related to worker efficiency, improved cooking minigame and new hieroglyphs painting minigame. Builders will also use small scaffolding to reach higher places when assigned to construction. [/p][p]We’ll return with new information soon, featuring the first full look at the pyramid construction and full release.
