0.5.0 Plans

With the release of build 0.4.0 it's time to discuss what's next. I think I have the initial 'bones' of the game complete that I originally designed but now it's time to do some janitorial work.

Build 0.5.0 will bring lots of sprite cleanup and in a lot of areas, complete redesign of some levels.
I want to bring this game back to looking more like an NES game but I found I'm using some styles that are more SNES than NES like I originally envisioned.

Lab level changes for example:

Using a proper NES color palette cleans up the level nicely.

I'll also be redesigning the exercise level that harkens back the DK Jr. Math exercise level:



While all this cleanup is going on I'll also be working on the Online PvP mode, outside of Steam Remote Play. Depending on how that goes I hope that will be ready by 0.6.0. I want to stick to focusing on cleaning up some areas in 0.5.0 first.

Build 0.4.0 Live!

Build 0.4.0 Preview

Build 0.4.0 is on the horizon here's a preview of what's to come.

Division Exercise:


This one has taken some time, I was really trying to make it much simpler than the way DK Jr. Math handled it on NES. You can simply put in the answer as you would any other exercise or you can use the next line button and enter in the remainders to help you solve it. I wanted to keep both options there and not make it a requirement to "show your work."

World 3 (Factory)


Another Story update, this will have 3 new levels and a boss and secret level to uncover.

Compound Inequality Minigame


Featured in World 3 Level 3, this will have players solve inequalities and solve for X. This is still the most WIP at the moment so this may change slightly as I continue to tweak it (as is most content in EA).

I'm hoping to finalize 0.4.0 in the next couple weeks!

Build 0.3.0

[h2]Happy Pi Day![/h2]

Below are the patch notes for Build 0.3.0.

- Added 'Extras' page for mini-games
- Added Car Chase and Pi Challenge in Extras menu
- Fix monkey not centered on a vine
- Adjusted random number target for Car Chase Challenge to 60-150, from 80-120
- Fix disappearing ground during the Car Chase Challenge
- Fix numbers hiding behind platforms during Car Chase Challenge
- UI Cleanups

Build 0.3.0

Pi day is upon us so I figured that would be an appropriate date for the next build, 0.3.0.

New extras menu where you can find the Pi Challenge as well as the side-scrolling car chase challenge. Any future mini-games will go here.


Pi Challenge will task you with collecting the correct next digit of Pi that spawns from the top. I only went to 100 digits, hopefully that is enough for most people. We can get crazier in the future if need be.



Furthermore, behind the scenes there are 'scoring zones', so if you're confident enough in your answer and on the right vine you can get the highest multiplier for your score. Aim for a high score and bragging rights!



Build 0.3.0 will be out on Pi Day 3/14.
