Harry, the protagonist of the first book in The Bornless series, quickly became one of the most loved characters during our playtests, often referred to as "the guy in the trenchcoat." Because of his central role, reworking Harry was a top priority for us. This update not only gives him a fresh new look but also enriches his backstory and his connections with other characters in The Bornless universe. In this article, we will unveil the reimagined Harry, showcasing his new look and exploring his pivotal role in The Bornless, all while avoiding any spoilers.


[h3]Who is Harry?[/h3]
For a long time, there was only the job: the investigation, the fight, and the satisfaction of justice served. Then, there was only her—Mary. A bright sun where black clouds once reigned, she lit up everything she touched. Being a detective was still who he was, still a priority, but it was no longer all that he was. Through Mary, he discovered an entire life outside of the force. A world that, ever since she had gone missing, had fallen once more into darkness.


[h3]Role In The Bornless[/h3]
Harry is another one of the major playable characters within the Bornless universe. Partnered with Denzel, he is a man well-versed in warfare—albeit the violence he had seen prior to the Bornless ritual being invoked was a little more mundane and a little less demonic. With the loss of Mary almost certainly tied to the recent events on Farmouth Island, Harry has no inhibitions about getting his hands dirty. His role may involve invocations, fighting, survival... But his prime directive is to find Mary.

To help players connect more deeply and enhance their gaming experience, we have redefined Denzel's character. The way he looks is now more memorable and his backstory is richer, reflecting his experiences in the game. This character rework reveals a bold new vision for Denzel, designed to captivate and resonate with our players.

Some men imagine themselves heroes, with illusions of grandeur or a god complex. Not Denzel. His feet have always remained firmly on the ground—until recently, that is. Before Farmouth Island became a haven for demonic cults and supernatural interference, Denzel was just happy showing up every day to work as a detective, shooting the breeze with his partner Harry and taking out the criminal trash. Did he get bored sometimes? Sure, who wouldn’t in this small town? Well, that was until the ritual began…


[h3]Role In The Bornless[/h3]

He had been working alongside Harry for several years before everything changed; before eternal night fell upon Farmouth and monsters walked the land.
