Hey hey! It's been a while, right? Already 6 hours since the demo launch, and we have an update for you!



Hotfix 0.3.2 should already be available on Steam 🎉 If you haven't updated yet, you definitely should! And while we call it a "fix", it's actually the whole heart of the game that was replaced just last night by this unnamed here - our dev (say hi to @someusername_03 on Discord if you spot him).

In short: you can now type in any language with any keyboard layout. So all those "where is the damn ';' on my keyboard?" moments should finally be gone.

The longer story: when we first started implementing input for The Final Sentence, we planned to support only a few languages and keyboard layouts. So we carefully mapped input based on the physical keys you pressed on your keyboard and this movement was also translated to the typewriter on the table. This is why, for example, the numpad didn't work. It was by design because:

• There is no numpad on the typewriter.
  
• We read the "key" pressed, not the symbol returned by the OS.
  

Thanks to your quick feedback and the incredible work of our dev, you no longer have to deal with this mess. Now you can type just like you're used to!

Today, in about 2 hours, we will close the playtest. Final Sentence Playtest will be removed from your Steam library. All progress and statistics you've accumulated during the game will be saved and carried over to the next stage.

The next stage will begin today, just a few hours after the playtest closes.

Today's update will includes several fixes, the most important of which are:
✔️ Tutorial texts should no longer appear for players who have already completed them.
✔️ Matchmaking now takes win rate into account. Players with a higher win rate (we will adjust this threshold over time; currently it's >30%) will be grouped together, and all other players will be in another group.
✔️ We patched several areas that could potentially cause crashes. Unfortunately, this crash is very random, so we can't guarantee it's completely fixed. If you still encounter it, please report it in our Discord under the #bug-report section.

Another issue we haven't fully resolved yet but are actively working on is support for different keyboard layouts. Currently, the game supports the following keyboard layouts:

🌐 Spanish (Spain)
🌐 French (France)
🌐 German (Germany)
🌐 Portuguese (Brazil)
🌐 Russian (Russia)
