Demo Final Days

As we approach the release (we're not yet ready to announce the exact date), a few changes will happen along the way. The first and most dramatic one is that we will disable the demo. You can still play it until this Friday at noon (UTC). After that, the demo will be permanently unavailable.

The good news is that, alongside disabling the demo, we're launching very limited access to the Playtest (again). What is the Playtest? Well, over the past few months, we've been cooking up some new features for you, and we'd love to know if you like them (and whether they work at all ːchuchelsmileː).

So, if you're not afraid of broken things or if you'd like to break things yourself you can request Playtest access now on πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰πŸ‘‰ the main game page:

Feature Preview: Player Statistics

Hi, Brusnika here! This is the first of six-seven posts (not a joke) about upcoming features in Final Sentence.

Some people come to the game to test their typing skills and maybe even improve them. While we're not entirely sure about the educational value of learning something with a gun pointed at you, checking your skill level might actually work quite well. To make this aspect deeper and to allow players to track how their skill changes over time - the release version of the game will include very detailed statistics covering all aspects of typing.

Right now in the demo you can only see the most basic parameters, like average WPM or typing accuracy. In total, however, we plan to display more than 50 different metrics. These will range from which types of mistakes you make most often (wrong letter, missed letter, extra letter) and which words cause the most errors, all the way to your average progress through texts and the number of players eliminated because of you.

All of this will be kept in a nice little notebook on the desk in the main menu, so you can flip through it whenever you feel like it.

If you'd like the game to track a specific statistical parameter, please write about it here πŸ‘‡ in the comments πŸ‘‡ or in the pinned post πŸ‘‰Players Statistics Feedback on our Discord πŸ‘ˆ.

We can't promise we'll add everything (spoiler: even some of the stats we already planned might not make it into the release), but there's a good chance we missed something interesting or useful and if so, we'll definitely add it in future updates.

Next time I'll talk about progression through texts, and later we'll get to the new game mode as well. Aaand that's all for today. Looking forward to your suggestions for stats!

Cheers! πŸ™Œ

Language, do you speak it?!

It's been a while, huh? Sup, Brusnika here! As we're getting closer to release, we want to talk about game localization and prompts.

After the demo, some of you were incredibly generous and offered to help translate the game. Some even offered to write new texts and prompts. Sorry we've been quiet for so long! We've been busy working on new game features (and we'll be teasing them over the coming weeks). Now we're ready to focus on the in-game text and start accepting contributions from anyone who'd like to help. This is something new for us, and the results might be unpredictable - but we want to take the risk anyway. This should be fun!

So, if you're interested in taking part, please check #πŸ“‘β”‚contrib-lobby channel on our πŸ‘‰ our Discord server πŸ‘ˆ. Or, if you don't use Discord but still want to help with translation, you can contribute directly πŸ‘‰ on Crowdin πŸ‘ˆ. That's the service where we host all the game texts and UI strings. Spoiler alert!

Cheers, and see you soon!

Important Information for Players from Russia

This news is intended specifically for players from Russia, so the detailed information is provided in the Russian-language version of this post.

For the curious, here's a brief summary: in Russia, there's a special government agency responsible for blocking websites and online services - roskomnadzor. In recent weeks, some Amazon AWS addresses (where we host the game servers for Final Sentence) have been blocked, which has made it impossible for players from Russia to access the game.
