Conjurer Unleashed Update v.0.7.4.1 Patch Notes

Merry Christmas Traveler,

here it finally is: An update that unlocks the full potential of the 'Conjurer' character class!

From now on Conjurers will be able to control the creatures they summon in the battle as long as their 'Summon' or 'Necromancy' class skill is high enough. More powerful creatures are harder to control and need a higher skill level to take orders than the weaker creatures. Each creature has now three different tiers that determines how they act, how long they stay in the battle and what skills they possess.

Here's two examples:

Nikaru

1. tier (Summoner skill lvl 1): Nikaru acts on it's own and stays four turns in the battle. Skills: Normal attack and Bite

2. tier (Summoner skill lvl 4): Nikaru can be controlled and stays eight turns in the battle. Skills: Normal attack, Bite and Lick Wounds

3. tier (Summoner skill lvl 8): Nikaru can be controlled and stays the whole battle. Skills: Normal attack, Bite, Lick Wounds and Ferocious Claws

Skeleton Warrior:

1. tier (Necromancer skill lvl 8): Skeleton Warrior acts on it's own and stays four turns in the battle. Skills: Normal attack and Crippling Slash

2. tier (Necromancer skill lvl 10): Skeleton Warrior can be controlled and stays eight turns in the battle. Skills: Normal attack, Crippling Slash and Shield Bash

3. tier (Necromancer skill lvl 14): Skeleton Warrior can be controlled and stays the whole battle. Skills: Normal attack, Crippling Slash, Shield Bash and Skull Cracker

One difference between male and female Conjurers is that female learns Summoner skills slightly faster while male learns Necromancer skills a little bit faster.

The second feature of the update is option to pass time without a need to use Camping Gear. Time passing can be activated simply by pressing 'P' key. Unfortunately this doesn't work with old save games and needs a fresh start.

So this is it for this year, I hope you enjoy.

Have a happy holiday and see you next year!

Chronicles of Vaeltaja Has Entered the Winter Sale 2024 and Gets an Update Soon

Welcome Traveler,

it's been quite a year for Chronicles of Vaeltaja with lots of changes, improvements and added content. I was planning to end this year by tying up all the loose ends in the existing areas and bringing the rest of the 'Islands of the Prophets' content, but unfortunately this past month has been quite busy in many ways and I had to give myself some time to rest also. Therefore the 'Islands of the Prophets Part 2' update has been delayed until next year. However, that doesn't mean the rest of the year will go by without an update. So, let me present you the 'Conjurer Unleashed' update!

When the update arrives in a few days, you can finally witness the true power of the 'Conjurer' character class. This means some fundamental changes to how the character class works. So far the Conjurers have been able to summon creatures, monsters and undead to aid the party without any control over their behaviour, but after the update things will be different and Conjurers will be able to learn how to control them.

At the start, when the Conjurer's 'Summoner' or 'Necromancer' class skills are low, summoned creatures act on their own, but once those class skills get better the Conjurer will be able to control their actions. For example, if 'Summoner' class skill is 5, Conjurer will learn to control Nikaru, which means that the Conjurer can choose which enemy the summoned creature will target and what skill it will use to attack. But it doesn't end there: Once the Conjurer gains the control over the summoned creature, also the time the creature stays in the battle will be twice as long.

And it gets even better! When the class skill is high enough the Conjurer's true power will be unleashed and it will give the Conjurer the power to keep the summoned creature in the battle as long as necessary. But there's more: The summoned creature will also learn a new skill. For example, if 'Summoner' class skill is 10, Conjurer gains full control over Nikaru and can keep it in the battlefield until the battle is over. Nikaru will also learn a new skill that can be used in battle.

These changes will add some extra depth to the 'Conjurer' class and make it a viable option when choosing the party.

Even though I won't give a specific date for the update, it's arrival is only a matter of days. Detailed patch notes will be released once the update is live.

Meanwhile, if you don't already own Chronicles of Vaeltaja, now is a good chance to buy it. The game will probably not get a better discount in it's Early Access period.

Thank You and have a happy holiday!

Islands of the Prophets Part I

Welcome Traveler,

to the 'Islands of the Prophets', a new overworld area full of secrets and dangers.

Few weeks ago I decided to delay this update so I would have time to finish things with existing areas before the release. I wanted this update to tie some loose ends and add the rest of the missing content, such as the interiors of the town of Pramea. Either I overestimated myself or underestimated the amount of work left, but in the end I decided to split this update in two parts and release the first part before the end of this month. The main reason is that there has been a lot of visual improvements that I wanted to bring into the Early Access version as soon as possible.

So, here we are with the update part I, but what does it mean? It means that the new overworld area 'Islands of the Prophets' has finally been released, but not with full content. You can already go to the underground dungeon and try to connect the islands through them, but you can't enter the Temple of the Prophets or any of the houses on one of the islands. Otherwise the islands and the underground are fully explorable. You can also progress in the Evertree side quest and one other big side quest, which I won't spoil in case someone hasn't found it yet.

One other thing worth mentioning is that the Cemetery is now separated to it's own area to improve the performance in the Cemetery Area. This means that the Cemetery is now slightly bigger than before. If you have saved in the Cemetery before the update and your character appears to be out of bounds when loading, just walk to the gate and open it, and it will transport you out of there.

The update part II is planned to be released by the end of December and it will bring the content missing from this update, such as the Temple of the Prophets, and hopefully tie the rest of the loose ends, so I can finally fully focus on the final overworld areas of the game and bring the story to it's conclusion. But more about the second part later, now it's time for the patch notes!

Waiting for the Prophets Sale

Welcome Traveler,

Almost 13 months ago Chronicles of Vaeltaja entered the Early Access and the game has gone through massive changes during that time. Not only have the graphics gotten better, but the gameplay has also become more versatile and deeper. There's already at least twice as much overworld areas, dungeons, quests, equipment, items and secrets than when released, yet more changes are coming with the next content update 'The Islands of the Prophets'!

'The Islands of the Prophets' will be a major update as it will finally complete the existing areas and allows me to move forward into new overworld areas and rest of the story content. This update will bring more graphical changes to house interiors and town wall textures, but it will also enhance some sprites, such as doors and ladders. And those are just the visual changes. The next update brings new house interiors as it will unlock every house in Pramea and other places around Twin Falls kingdom.

While the next update aims to tie all the loose ends in the existing areas, it will also bring some new content of it's own. 'The Islands of the Prophets' will unlock a new overworld area where the next story quests will take place. This means new dungeons, enemies and secrets!

Even though the update is shaping up nicely and it's release is still planned to this month, there's still much to do and slight delay may be possible. Nevertheless, you can expect some more news and details about the update in the coming weeks.

So, if you haven't bought Chronicles of Vaeltaja yet, now's a great chance to do it and see what kind of adventures and secrets the kingdom of Twin Falls holds!

Chronicles Of Vaeltaja Update v.0.7.3.8

Good day, Traveller!

As those, who follow Chronicles of Vaeltaja's Steam forum, already know that I've decided to delay the 'Islands of the Prophets' update few weeks. For some time now I've been eager to move on to the new areas of the game, but all kinds of adjustments and graphical upgrades have always drawn me back to the old areas with every update so far. And because there are still some things I want to improve (mostly visual stuff), I've decided that with 'Prophets of Islands' and this new update I want to wrap things in the existing areas, so I can finally fully focus on the upcoming areas and content. This current update takes the first steps towards that goal by making some changes to some interior graphics and fixing few bugs.

I will spend the next few weeks by improving things even further, adding the missing content to the old areas and finalizing the content of the 'Islands of the Prophets'. After I release the update, I will fully focus on the next overworld area 'Autumn Valley'. I am still aiming to release the 'Islands of the Prophets' update in November and I really hope there won't be any delays.

Chronicles of Vaeltaja has changed a lot during this first year in Early Access and I try my best that the final version will be finished and released during 2025.

 • Window sprites now change according to the time of the day.

 • Slightly raised Grinner's magic attack.
FIXES
• Cemetery Catacombs, Traveller's Hall and Wizard Tower can now be fully mapped.
 • Spirit Lantern now works properly.
 • All Warlock gear can be used on the same level.
 • Grinner in the Wizard's Tower's 5th floor doesn't appear too early (may not work properly with old saves).
 • All the shelves now face the right direction in the Wizard's Tower's top floor.
 • Using the Travel Crystal in Wizard's Tower's top floor no longer affect the day/night cycle.

 • Pramean Silk quest should work better now.

 • Two of the Castle Town npcs no longer change to wrong face while walking.

That's about it. I still have a feeling that I'm forgetting something, but then again, I always have that feeling when writing these announcements. Nevertheless, I hope you will enjoy the game and look forward to future updates as much as I do!

Best regards,
