In Garden Buddies, a unique gardening simulator, players will find themselves in the middle of a fairytale world. Together with their new friend, the little apple-like creature Mutsy, they will begin an adventure to not only build the garden of their dreams but also to mentally respite.



In the heartwarming story, players accompanied by Mutsy, will explore the magical world, creating and building their plant sanctuary. The relaxing storyline will be filled with uplifting narration, as well as unexpected twists and turns.

Above all, however, players will make new friendships with the animals and plant creatures they encounter. As good friends, they will help new companions overcome the various obstacles and problems they face, and all this in the form of engaging mini-games.



The players can take a step back from the stress of every day life and let the companions guide them towards their own mental oasis. With the lovely mini-games and chances to decorate personal space – unwinding is guaranteed.

On top of the relaxing atmosphere and beautiful, digital nature, Garden Buddies offers breathing and grounding techniques that help with everyday anxiety. Through this, the players will experience less stress not only during their playtime, but also learn how to overcome stressful obstacles away from their devices.

Wholesome Games is a video game curation community with over 500,000 members across social media platforms. The community is best known for Wholesome Direct, a popular showcase of uplifting and thoughtful indie games.

One of the goals of Wholesome Games is to change how we think about which games are taken seriously. For many years, the most critically acclaimed titles have been the ones with the darkest themes and grimmest depictions of life, but there's also a whole world of hopeful video games with rich storytelling, innovative gameplay, and beautiful art and sound. We want to be a part of showcasing the breadth of experiences that games can have for players.

Wholesome Direct is an independent showcase organized by Wholesome Games. Each year the showcase features a selection of indie games that demonstrate the incredible range of themes, styles, and perspectives that games have to offer. Wholesome Direct 2023 will be streamed live on Saturday, June 10 at 9 AM PT via YouTube and Twitch.
