Throne and Liberty's first Arch Boss hasn't gone down well, but they'll return

Once you get into an MMO's endgame, that's when the best gear starts showing up. Whether you're grinding, crafting, or fighting the toughest bosses available, there are plenty of ways to get on top. For Throne and Liberty, it's the world-spawning Arch Bosses. Appearing once a week, they're tough and grueling encounters that entire servers can get involved in. Therein lies the problem, though, as the sheer volume of players in one place at one time has already caused issues.

THRONE AND LIBERTY Update 1.4.0

THRONE AND LIBERTY Update 1.4.0 downtime will begin at 10:30 p.m. PT (5:30 a.m. UTC) on October 24 and last approximately 6 hours. The Haunted Harvest will descend upon Solisium on October 25. Explore an event-only dungeon for sweet rewards, visit villages filled with spooky decorations, don themed cosmetics like the Wicked Enchanter or Grin Reaper outfits, grab Haunted Harvester's weapon cosmetics, and more. This update also includes bug fixes, changes to Field Boss loot, and more. Check out the full release notes broken down by platform below.

Celebrate Halloween in Solisium from October 25 through November 13 (10:30 p.m. PT).

New seasonal Co-Op Dungeon added - Haunted Labyrinth.

[h3]Gameplay[/h3]

The following friendly players are shown on the minimap: (Player's guild and friendly guilds, Party members, and Friendly top rank players)
Increased the PvP area for the following Conflict Field Boss events: (Morokai, Chernobog, Talus, Grand Aelon, and Adentus).
Increased the timer for Conflict Boss reward drops. Rewards stay bound to the original owner for 10 minutes and become available for everyone afterwards for 1 minute.
Crystal drops from Co-Op Dungeon Bosses and Elite monsters are no longer distributed to party members based on contribution and instead have an equal chance to be acquired by all party members.
Added new profile frame feature. This can be set in the Mirror Boutique > Profile Settings.
Sundries Crafters now offer Weapon Chests and Armor Chests. These items were originally craftable from the Weapon Crafters and Armor Crafters.
After claiming rewards from an Amitoi expedition, the previous roster will be selected for the next expedition.

The following previously restrictive cooking ingredients are now more widely available from additional sources. They’ve also been renamed to be more inclusive of where they come from:

Desert Wild Game to Bland Meat
Forest Wolf Meat to Thick Meat
Black Pig Pork to Chewy Meat

[h3]Dungeons[/h3]
Completing a dungeon through the Random matchmaking option will now provide special rewards when claiming the final boss chest:

1-Star Dimensional Soul Shard Selection Chest
You’ll also have a chance to receive 1x Dimensional Essence: Salvation.

[h3]Chat[/h3]

Added a Chat Window icon where players can add another chat window.
You can create more than one chat window at a time to view multiple tabs at once.
You can resize each chat window by dragging the edges with your mouse.
The extra windows can also be repositioned and locked in place.
Added a chat lock button.

[h3]UI[/h3]

The following now display acquisition information in their tooltips: Amitoi, Guardians, and Morphs.
Selecting Usage on cooking ingredients will now display Cooking recipes that contain it.
Added a visual indicator for skills that can be charged on your combat bar. When the shortcut key/button is held, the associated skill icon will fill up.
Improved UI locations during character customization so that UI elements don't block the view of the character.
Removed the unnecessary third reward line from the Cooperative Dynamic Event reward UI.

[h3]Notable Fixes[/h3]

Fixed an issue where the onboarding control buttons were always visible.
Fixed an issue where the Adventure Codex final rewards were not displayed.
Fixed an issue on controllers where L-Stick would move the character while the focus was on the Content Notification.
Fixed an issue where the Friends list would disappear temporarily.
Fixed an issue where View Codex Knowledge could display incorrect information.
Fixed an issue that caused Kowazan and Ahzreil Riftstone encounters to reward more loot than intended.
Fixed a rare issue that caused a crash when rendering certain particle effects.
Fixed an issue where players in Japan could see an incorrect expiring Lucent amount and remaining expiration time.
Fixed an issue where user privacy settings in game could be out of sync from AG ID website settings, causing user changes to fail or have the game not respect AG ID account settings.
Fixed an issue that caused Parties to unexpectedly disband during content.

Throne and Liberty uncovers "critical" issue, immediately delays major update

The most complex kinds of games are MMOs. You can't really change anything in an MMO without reaping huge, unexpected issues, all of which need to be accounted for and dealt with every time. Throne and Liberty is currently experiencing one of those kinds of issues, as its upcoming Halloween-themed update has been delayed at the last minute thanks to a "critical" problem.

The First Defender

Defenders of Stoneguard Castle, wielders of the Titan Cargo, and legends of Solisium. How will you be remembered? As the First Defender? Or the group that struck them down?

Those who conquer Stoneguard Castle control Solisium, but the First Defender is more than just a force to acquire. It manages the castle, tax rates, when certain items can be purchased, and the Tax Delivery. With absolute power comes absolute opposition. Thousands will rise in pursuit of their downfall. For only one champion can sit atop Solisium.

[h2]Selection Process[/h2]
Right now, the seemingly impenetrable throne room of Stoneguard Castle remains vacant. Beyond its tranquil walls, war rages on as the coveted position of First Defender beckons. Guild Rank, accumulated via activities like guild PvP modes and Contracts, grants successful groups rewards and powerful skills, such as the ability to control the weather.

Most importantly, the Guild Rank leader will earn the right of ascension at the following times:

Early access servers:

For all regions except Japan, the guild that’s in first will become the First Defender when the current ranking updates at 00:00 local server time on October 25.
For Japan, the First Defender will be decided at 00:00 local server time on October 26.
Note: The First Defender will be determined based on the current rank section of the leaderboard, not the real-time ranking.

Launch servers:

All regions outside of Japan will select their First Defenders on October 30.
Japan will determine their First Defender on October 31.

Once the guild rankings lock at 00:00 local server time, the First Defender will receive ownership when the Brilliant Growth milestone ends.

As the First Defender, they’ll execute the first Tax Delivery and defend Stoneguard Castle during the first Castle Siege. All future defenders will be crowned upon claiming the throne.

Haunted Harvest

Unfortunately during testing we discovered a critical stability issue in the 1.4.0 Update. Our team has worked with NCSOFT to resolve the issue and will release Haunted Harvest following the downtime on October 24 10:30PM PT (5:30AM UTC). We always regret when delays happen but it's important for us to ensure we deliver the best possible experience. As a result of our delay, all players will be granted an additional 500 Ornate Coins. In celebration of Haunted Harvest and the first appearance of the Arch Bosses Tevent and Queen Bellandir, we have increased the drop rates of Soul Fragments when the bosses periodically appear in the world. Tevent's Soul Fragments will drop at an increased rate from 10/25/2024 until 10/30/2024 and Queen Bellandir's Soul Fragment drop rate increase will occur from 10/31/2024 to 11/6/2024. From finding familiar faces in costumes to fishing for gummies, Solisium takes Haunted Harvest very seriously. Candy Corn is even used as event currency. Exchange your delectable treasure for unique rewards, including special consumables, and have a spooktacular time. Exclusive Haunted Harvest cosmetics will also be available for a limited time through the in-game Shop.

[h2]Event-Only Dungeon[/h2]

In pursuit of a giant jack-o’-lantern, you’ve unknowingly entered a perilous trap with seasonal surprises lurking around every corner. Navigate thrilling obstacles, defeat fiendish pumpkins, and devour a Candy Corn for the chance to receives rewards like cosmetics, food buffs, ornate coins, and more.
You will also receive Dimension Pumpkins, which can be exchanged for spoils like the Pumpkin Lord Headpiece, Jack-o’-Lantern Izzy Amitoi, and the Hallow-Knight shapeshift at event merchants in each village.

[h2]Event Villages[/h2]
Trick-or-treat at any village to get the most out of your Haunted Harvest experience. Beyond collecting Candy Corn from various activities, you’ll also receive them as a daily login bonus. Don’t eat, or spend, all of your candy at once.

Greet familiar friends in unique costumes around each village to receive Candy Corn.

Search for characters with hidden Haunted Harvest forms at night or morph into a playful ghost to identify them during the day for additional Candy Corn.
Locate all 3 costumed characters to receive the Phantom’s Prank buff (Increased Sollant gain and increased experience gain).

[h2]Haunted Festivities[/h2]

Haunted Harvest influences Solisium in fresh and unexpected ways. Scrumptious culinary creations are waiting to be crafted, while large bags of Candy Corn were accidentally lost amidst a few Conquest Battles. Rumor has it the candy ended up in the water and mutated some fish. Your favorite Amitoi can also enjoy the event through a limited-time Expedition bonus. Here’s an overview of the festivities.
Catch event-only fish throughout Solisium for various 15 minute buffs:

Red Gummy Fish, Yellow Gummy Fish, Blue Gummy Fish

Increased movement speed
Increased attack speed

Pumpkin Taffy

Increased boss hit rate
Damage boost against undead and demon enemies
Damage resistance against undead and demon enemies

Join your fellow adventurers and search for wandering Haunted Harvest Peddlers to purchase Dimension Pumpkins and other event-specific rewards.

Once you have the proper ingredients, you can cook these Haunted Harvest specialties for 15 minute buffs:

Spooky Pumpkin Pie (Increased mastery gain and increased abyss consumption efficiency)
Choco-Spider Cookie (Increased critical hit chance and increased critical damage)

Send your favorite Amitoi on Expeditions for a chance at additional event rewards.

Amitoi have an icon on their head to indicate where they’ll receive a boost. This boost increases a chance to obtain special rewards from Amitoi Expedition.
Halloween-themed Amitoi (Jack-o'-Lantern Izzy and Hexbound Figment) will receive an increased chance of obtaining special rewards enabled regardless of their Expedition.

Take down your favorite dungeon bosses during the event for a chance to receive additional cosmetics.
