Ask us questions for the FRACT OSC 10 year anniversary retrospective!
Hello longtime FRACT fans, we'd love your help!
FRACT OSC's 10 year anniversary is coming up in April, and we're planning to put together a retrospective on the conception, development and release of FRACT. We intend to be quite candid and open open how this wild thing got made - from the team, tools and techniques employed, to the mistakes, missed opportunities and just where the heck we've been doing for a decade.
AND WE WOULD LOVE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS FROM THE COMMUNITY.
So if you have anything you'd like us to answer, drop those questions here and we'll see if we can address them in this retrospective. We're not 100% sure what shape this will take, but we're working on it.

Thanks for being awesome!

FRACT OSC Playable on Steam Deck and it's ON SALE!

Hello Again!

More good news as FRACT OSC has been classified as Playable by the DeckLords at Steam! ALSO, IT'S ON SALE! In our experience it runs quite great on Deck, and we think you'll enjoy FRACT on the go. While our experience doesn't 100% line up with Valve's assessment, we didn't want to hold up the approval process.

Three points to note in it's playable status according to Valve:

 • This game sometimes shows mouse, keyboard, or non-Steam-Deck controller icons (the default controller bindings are visible in the menu, just navigate with the stick and use RB to 'click')
 • Entering some text requires manually invoking the on-screen keyboard (this only effects players who need to name/rename synth presets, likely a TINY fraction of players)
 • This game does not exit cleanly and may require you to manually quit via the Steam overlay (we have not seen this behaviour in hours of our own testing, but maybe we're the exception)

For those of you that have FRACT'd on the go - have you seen the third behaviour with unclean exits? Before we push Valve to retest this one, we thought we'd ask you folks first!

Thanks,

The phosfiend team
