  • The versions will change going forward. This version will simply be called Version 8 with additional revisions. This is added to better check for save wipes to prevent crashing for users on old patches.
  • Each major update will update the version, and may or may not include a save wipe.

[h3]Optimization[/h3]
  • Changed the compiler to convert code to C++ and run natively on your machine instead of running within a virtual machine. This can cause issues so it is currently experimental. The upsides is that the game runs about 40% better overall because of this.

Fixes
  • Fixed some text strings.
  • Fixed Captain Catacomb not spawning Illusions at the correct health.

  • Added the ability to slow down your character during movement by right-clicking. This function only works on your turn.

[h2]Crafting[/h2]
  • Augmenting an item that has been upgraded with a Shard, Spark, Star or Whetstone now keep its upgrade.
  • Astral Confluence Orbs now only roll the highest tiers.
  • You can now use Shards, Sparks, and Stars on Rings and Necklaces.

  • Barrier has been increased by 50% on all items that have Barrier.
  • Defense Ring has been buffed significantly.
  • Vitality Ring has bene buffed.

Ghoul Smash v0.8.1.0

This update features a plethora of changes featuring smoother combat, item rarities, new art, and effects, and more! This update will forcefully delete your existing save to ensure no crashes happen. Expect more save wipes whilst the game is in development.

[h2]Demo Expansion[/h2]
  • The Demo Version of the game is now 4 levels longer, allowing you to play around with Tier 3 items and equipment!

  • The UI has been changed significantly, much better than before!

  • 30 New Items and Equipment added, alongside new skills and combinations.

[h2]Crafting Materials[/h2]
  • Confluence Orb – Rerolls an Item guaranteeing it to be at least Magic rarity.
  • Gold Confluence Orb – Rerolls an Item guaranteeing it to be at least Rare rarity.
  • Astral Confluence Orb – Rerolls an Item guaranteeing it to be at least Astral rarity with high-tier Affixes.
  • Augment Orb – Upgrades a Magic item to Rare adding an additional Affix.
  • Gold Augment Orb - Upgrades a Magic item to Rare adding an additional high-tier Affix.
  • Awakening Orb – Upgrades a Rare item to Astral adding an additional high-tier Affix.

[h2]Player Art[/h2]
  • The Small Combat Player appearance changes now depending on the items and equipment you’re wearing. Similarly to the large player model.

Infused Equipment
  • Equipment now has a chance to drop at different rarities: Magic, Rare, Astral, and Legendary.
  • An item can only have one affix of each type on it. (No duplicated affixes)
  • Magic Equipment has 1 Affix.
  • Rare Equipment has 2 Affixes.
  • Astral Equipment has 3 Affixes.
  • Legendary Equipment has 4 Affixes.

[h2]Combat Changes[/h2]
[h3]Density[/h3]
Enemies are now much less dense resulting in less directional changes and slowdowns.
Enemies now have much more friction sliding around significantly less.
Larger Enemies like the Skeletal Golem are unaffected by the Density change and remain dense.
[h3]Infused Enemies[/h3]
  • Depending on Enemy Tier, non-boss enemies can now become either Magic, Rare, or Astral infused.
  • Infused Enemies have a higher chance of dropping additional crafting materials depending on their infusion.
  • Magic Enemies have 50% more Constitution, and Damage. Magic Enemies have +5% more base Drop Chance and drop 1 additional item.
  • Rare Enemies have 100% more Constitution, and Damage. Rare Enemies have +10% more base Drop Chance and drop 2 additional items.
  • Astral Enemies have 300% more Constitution and Damage. Astral Enemies have +15% more base Drop Chance and drop 3 additional items.


[h2]Atlas[/h2]
[h3]The Eternal Battleground[/h3]
  • Now has more detailed information regarding difficulty scaling.
  • Removed the infinitely increasing Atlas Tier system. Replaced with 16 Tiers each with their own set difficulty.
  • The Urwood now has an upgrade to add mini bosses to your area. Each mini boss has a unique drop and guarantees a reward on the Rare Drop Table.

[h3]Crucible[/h3]
  • A new encounter has been added – Shadowfell
  • Each existing encounter has been adjusted to function similarly to Atlas Tiers within the Eternal Battleground. Currently I believe many of the encounters to be over tuned, beware!

[h2]Enemy Loot[/h2]
[h3]Normal Loot[/h3]
  • Enemies no longer drop Shards, Sparks, or Stars
  • The Amount of Crafting Materials dropped by enemies globally has increased by significantly.

[h3]Rare Drop Table[/h3]
  • Charms have been removed.
  • Tier 0 Enemies no longer have a chance to roll the RDT.
  • Base chance to roll on the RDT is now 1 in 20,000 (Previously 1 in 5,000) and the effectiveness of Fortune has been reduced.

[h3]Essence Forge[/h3]
  • The Tier 1, 2, and 3 Material rewards have been changed to the Shard, Spark, and Star rewards respectively.
  • Essence is now a built-in currency that functions similarly to Salvage.
  • Skills
  • Almost every skill has been looked at an adjusted slightly. The list is too long, sorry!

Unfortunately, I was poor at tabbing out and noting down each additional change. This list fails to encapsulate everything as there are a lot more changes not on this list. Hopefully I will simply be better in the future.

Ghoul Smash Demo

The Ghoul Smash Demo is now available to play! Alongside this demo comes some new features added to the hub.

Demo

The Ghoul Smash Demo allows you to play up to the Bone Golem boss in Act 1, access tier 2 Items and Equipment, Rare-drop Table, Three Classes and Tier 1 of the Essence Forge.
The demo will receive minor updates and changes that happen to the main game. If you want to enjoy the game on full-release please wish list and join the discord to get updates on Ghoul Smash Development.

Additions

[h2]Ranger[/h2]
[h3]Windrunner Keystone[/h3]
  • Your Damage is increased by 100% of your Speed.
  • Your Pierce is increased by 50% of your Speed.
  • You can gain twice the amount of Speedboosts per turn.
  • When you Dodge, you restore Constitution equal to twice your Dexterity and gain 20% Damage Reduction until the beginning of the next round. (Does not stack)


[h2]Hub[/h2]
[h3]Lost Treasures[/h3]
The Urwood now has an update that allows you to have a treasure box inside the hub. The treasure box functions similarly to the loot menu except you can access it at any time.
You have two toggleable options that allow you to automatically skip the loot screen and automatically salvage items.

[h3]Transmogrification[/h3]
You can now upgrade the Crafting Bench to transmogrify your items. This feature is still in development and will likely be modified in the future.

[h2]Misc[/h2]
  • Enemies have been given more friction to make them less bouncy.
  • Adjusted the density of the Player, making them by default 33% more dense.
  • Adjusted the scaling of Speed when launching. It is more consistent the denser the player is.
  • Adjusted the amount of density the player gains at higher Damage Reduction values.
