Closed Playtest Recap: How Many Harpoon Kills!?

[p]From brutal harpoon kills to last-second extractions, our latest Closed Playtest gave us plenty to look back on. To everyone who jumped in, caused chaos, and shared feedback: Thank you. [/p][p][/p][p]Here’s a snapshot of the mayhem you caused over the weekend: [/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p]
Help Us Sharpen the Blade
[p]We’re currently diving through the data to squash bugs and balance the scales. If you encountered an issue or have thoughts on the experience, we want to hear them.[/p]
How to Report Bugs:
1. [p]Head to our Discord Bug Reports Channel.[/p]
  2. [p]Tell us what happened and how to reproduce it.[/p]
  3. [p]Attach screenshots or clips if you have them—it helps us find the "smoke" much faster![/p]
How to Share Feedback:
[p]We collect feedback in three specific spots to make sure nothing gets lost in the noise:[/p]
  • [p]The Official Survey: (Check Discord for the link!)[/p]

So What’s New/Changed?
[p][/p]
Dagger Changes
[p]Welcome to Phase 1 of team-based play updates! We’re shifting the focus toward crew-based play and expanding your mobile base with new construction capabilities.

To allow for this update we have had to reset the following:[/p]
  • [p]Dagger Vaults[/p]
  • [p]Character Data[/p]
  • [p]Dagger Tech Tree Progression [/p]
  • [p]Dagger Placeables[/p]
[p]Here is what’s changing and present in this early version:[/p][p][/p]
Dagger Membership & Social Play
[p]The Dagger is no longer just a solo vessel; it’s now a home for your entire crew.[/p]
  • [p]Permanent Members: You can now invite party members to become Permanent Members of your Dagger.[/p]
  • [p]Persistent Access: Permanent members have individual access to the ship. When you hit Play, you will automatically load into the Dagger where you hold membership.[/p]
  • [p]One Ship Policy: To keep things simple, you can only hold membership in one Dagger at a time.[/p]
  • [p]Communal Vaults: The Dagger Vault is now shared. All players currently in the Dagger, including guests, interact with the same communal storage.[/p]
    • [p]Note: If you are visiting another player's Dagger as a guest, you will access their vault, not your own.[/p]
Home Expansion
[p]Need more room for your gear? A new expansion has been hitched to your Dagger.[/p]
  • [p]New Section: A custom build carriage has been added behind the main Carriage.[/p]
  • [p]The Airlock: Access the new carriage via the new manual Airlock.[/p]
    • [p]Manual Control: Both doors must be opened individually.[/p]
    • [p]Instant Access: There is no purge sequence; doors can be opened from either side at any time.[/p]
  • [p]Construction Limits: The new carriage supports up to 1,000 placeable objects. This limit includes:[/p]
    • [p]Crafting Stations[/p]
    • [p]Decorative items[/p]
    • [p]Functional furniture[/p]
Layout Changes
• [p]The vault has now changed location, check it out![/p]
Blueprint Printing
[p][/p]
  • [p]The Dagger now requires power in order to print blueprints[/p]
  • [p]You will need to add fuel items to your fuel core receiver to convert them to energy[/p]
[p][/p]
Blueprints
[p][/p]
  • [p]Most gear now requires a blueprint in order to craft it[/p]
  • [p]You can buy blueprints in shops, find them in loot, or research them from blueprint scraps[/p]
  • [p]You can safely store your blueprints in any base core you can access. Stored blueprints can be used from anywhere![/p]
[p][/p]
Refining and Fuel
• [p]You can now craft your own Refiners and refine fuel items from Uranium in the safety of your own base - careful, they are expensive![/p]
  • [p]You can farm Uranium from Resource Nodes[/p]
  • [p]You can also get Fuel shards from fighting the scrappers in the undercarriage[/p]
[p][/p]
Bots
• [p]We now have multiple different types with different behaviours[/p]
    • [p]Scrappers, they are crazed probably from too much gas exposure! They have a chance to drop fuel items as well as blueprint scraps though.[/p]
    • [p]Enforcers, found in markets, no funny business[/p]
    • [p]Supply Drop Guards, dedicated to guarding precious cargo[/p]
    • [p]Class Airlock Guards, you shall not pass[/p]
    • [p]Conductor Guards, personal protection for the top dog[/p]
[p][/p]
Economy
• [p]Class tickets now cost 5 fuel items to craft or can be bought for a high price for credits – these are the only ways to acquire[/p]
  • [p]Added new searchable containers[/p]
[p][/p]
Improvements & Additions
[p][/p]
  • [p]Resource pick ups at dispensers have now been replaced with farmable nodes[/p]
  • [p]Riot shield has been added as a craftable item [/p]
  • [p]The Mini-Base is now craftable in player crafting[/p]
  • [p]Ladder improvements[/p]
  • [p]UI improvements such as:[/p]
    • [p]Crafting UI now sorts recipes you can craft on top.[/p]
    • [p]Turret UI now correctly shows "Ammo" instead of "Fuel"[/p]
    • [p]Fixed colour sliders not working in Character Creator. Fixed Colour buttons not working.[/p]
    • [p]Characters can be rotated and zoomed in customisation and the railpass[/p]
[p][/p]
What to Expect
[p]Remember, this is still a pre-launch playtest. [/p]
  • [p]🐞 Bugs and rough edges [/p]
  • [p]⚖️ Balance that’s still being tuned [/p]
  • [p]🔁 Systems that may change based on feedback [/p]
[p]Speaking of feedback, as always, your feedback is essential and helps us improve the experience for everyone. So head over to the Discord and keep sharing your experiences with us![/p][p][/p][p]We will see you on the train![/p]

Spring Open Playtest – Date Change

[p]We are moving our Spring Open Playtest from April to May 12–19. [/p][p][/p]
Why the Shift?
[p]We have major new features that need a little more time to "cook." With 100+ playtests under our belt over the last year, we’ve learned that the best feedback comes when you’re having the most fun. Pushing the date ensures a polished experience that delivers the actionable insights we need for launch.[/p][p][/p]
So What Happens In the Meantime?
• [p]From March 19-22, we will run a Closed Playtest to validate the build. [/p]
  • [p]We will likely have a second Closed Playtest in April but we will confirm this closer to the date so remains TBC[/p]
[p][/p][p]This extra window also helps us reach more players to ensure the Open Playtest in May is a massive event.[/p][p][/p]
Thank You
[p]We want to thank you for your ongoing patience and support. Asking you to wait longer to board your first Titan Train is a decision we never take lightly, but we are committed to making it worth the wait. In the meantime, here is a sneak peek at what we’re working on:[/p]
  • [p]Brand New Mega Train Exterior[/p]
  • [p]Skyhooking[/p]
  • [p]Development to Looting[/p]
  • [p]Blueprints 2.0[/p]
  • [p]Carriage Aesthetics [/p]
  • [p]Placeable Mini-bases[/p]
  • [p]Perk System[/p]
[p]This and more! [/p][p][/p][p]We will be exploring these areas in dedicated posts as we lead up to the Spring Open Playtest, so follow along for more.[/p]

How To Become Conductor

[p]In Enginefall, the Conductor role puts you at the center of the action: control the train, craft top-tier gear and shape how the run unfolds. Watch the video below for a full step-by-step walkthrough on how to become the Conductor, from reaching the right carriage to making a successful extraction:
[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]
[/p]
The High-Level Path to Power
[p]Becoming the Conductor isn’t automatic, it’s something you earn during a run:[/p]
  • [p]Travel through the train until you reach Carriage C00, the location of the Control Room.[/p]
  • [p]The main entry doors are locked, so you’ll need to craft a Breacher to get inside.[/p]
  • [p]After planting the Breacher and waiting for it to complete, you’ll be able to force entry. Just be ready, as this is a common flashpoint for combat.[/p]
  • [p]Once inside, make your way up to the Control Room and register as the Conductor.[/p]
What You Can Do as Conductor
[p]Holding the Conductor role unlocks a range of powerful and unique abilities:[/p]
  • [p]Communicate with the entire train, including announcements and messages[/p]
  • [p]Craft the highest-tier weapons and armor[/p]
  • [p]Create Conductor-exclusive clothing[/p]
  • [p]Produce Fuel Cores directly from the Control Room[/p]
  • [p]Craft fuel-related resources outside the train, such as fuel nodes and shards[/p]
  • [p]Print a Control Room keycard for easy access in and out[/p]
Getting Out Alive
[p]Once you’ve gathered what you need, it’s time to leave:[/p]
  • [p]Head to the nearest extraction point[/p]
  • [p]Call in your Dagger shuttle[/p]
  • [p]Extract with your Conductor loot before things go sideways[/p]
[p][/p][p]See you on the train![/p]
