Game Fixes & Release Notes
Forza Motorsport Update 5 is now rolling out for download on Steam with the Nürburgring Nordschleife available today. Spotlight cars and new events across the Career, Featured Multiplayer and Rivals will start from Thursday, February 15 at 12:00 AM UTC.

Below you will find a snapshot of the fixes and improvements in Update 5. Head on over to Forza Support to find the full release notes.

 • Players can now save Short Race replays. When racing against a full grid, Short races should save most replays; Medium races will not save full replays but will save up to 11 minutes. Work to improve replay save length is ongoing. [1655835]
 • Players are now presented with the option to Skip Practice in the Career mode pre-race menu. Furthermore, if the player previously completed Practice, the game creates a save point and gives the player additional options when returning to a series for replaying or skipping complete practice. [1635662]
 • Fixed an issue in Featured Multiplayer where players could encounter an infinite loading screen when attempting to change their Fuel and Tire setup at Grid Preview. [1611726]
 • Players are now prompted to save their livery if they attempt to exit the Livery Editor without saving. [1437864]
 • Added custom advanced zoom to the Livery Editor when applying decals to a car. [1621135]
 • On PC, we’ve made numerous under-the-hood improvements to reduce CPU spikes and better utilize the GPU, helping to improve framerate consistency while driving. [1536749, 1651623]
 • Fixed an issue causing custom wheel input layouts to reset to their default settings after relaunching the game with both a controller and steering wheel connected. [1593360]

Forza Motorsport Car Progression Updates

Today we’re outlining important changes to the Car Progression mechanic in Forza Motorsport. These updates will give players freedom to equip the parts they want to install to their car regardless of Car Level, while retaining aspects of the system for those who enjoy it.

Firstly, we will remove the locked part mechanic so all car parts can be accessed at Car Level 1 for every car in the game. Once a car is added to your car collection, you can install upgrades to it in any order that you wish. Whether it's engine swaps, race tires, aspiration changes, body kits or any other part available for your vehicle, you will have the freedom to build cars your way.

Secondly, in addition to earning Car Points through levelling up the car, you will be able to use in-game Credits to acquire Car Points. This means you can begin to immediately install upgrades to your car if you have sufficient Credits or if you would rather save your Credits, you can still earn car parts through car leveling as before.

We’re testing a ratio of 4,500 Credits for 500 Car Points and based on the feedback we’ve collected, we expect this to provide a healthy balance. That means if you’re upgrading the 2021 Volkswagen Golf R with all available parts at Level 1, for example, it will cost 89,775 Credits. In the case of the 2021 BMW M4 Competition Coupé, for all parts it amounts to 125,325 Credits, or for the 1969 Nissan Fairlady Z 432, it totals to 133,875 Credits.

Brand discounts will remain as they currently are. When a car reaches the maximum Car Level 50, a Showroom discount of 5% is applied to future cars you purchase from that same manufacturer. If you get 5 cars from the same manufacturer to Car Level 50, the loyalty discount stacks to 25%. The time needed on-track to reach Car Level 50 will remain between 2 and 3 hours.

We expect these updates to Car Progression to roll out with Forza Motorsport Update 6 in March 2024, and we will let you know an exact date closer to availability. Once these changes are made, we would like your input about the updates once you’ve played it, and you can share that feedback with us on the Forza Suggestions Hub.

Nordschleife Arrives in Forza Motorsport Update 5

Tackle the exhilarating 20.8-kilometer Nordschleife coming this February to Forza Motorsport.

Today on Forza Monthly, we revealed that the Nürburgring Nordschleife – the most challenging, daunting racetrack in the world – arrives in Forza Motorsport with Update 5, free to all players.

The Nordschleife is a testament to racing history with a notorious reputation. Legends have been born on this track, while others have suffered tough defeats. With several challenging turns, steep climbs, and long straights – not to mention an elevation of nearly 300 meters – the Nordschleife is the ultimate test of endurance for racers and manufacturers alike.

Check out a sneak preview of the Nordschleife in Forza Motorsport in the video above, featuring gameplay behind the wheel of the supreme Mercedes-AMG ONE. With stunning racetrack performance, hybrid technology and exemplary efficiency, this car made headlines all over the world – breaking the Nordschleife’s production car lap record in 2022 with a yet-to-be-defeated time of 6:35.183.

As the video puts it, the Nordschleife is the benchmark for cars and performance. It’s where manufacturers invite their most skilled drivers to show the world just how fast their newest cars really are – pushing the boundaries of car development to find the perfect balance of performance, suspension and features.

The Nordschleife will be added to both single-player and online modes in Forza Motorsport, including the Career, Free Play, Private Multiplayer and Rivals Time Attack. Whether you’re creating your own track days or setting leaderboard records, we can’t wait to experience your fastest laps on this adrenaline-fueled crucible!

Earlier today, we shared a preview of the fixes and improvements coming to Forza Motorsport in Update 5 alongside the Nordschleife. These include improved discoverability of the Skip Practice option along with a save point for completed Practice sessions, and quality-of-life changes for the Livery Editor.
