Tyr's getting Tank Styles, a freshly art'd map, and longer playtests
[p]Welcome to our latest Tyr dev update.[/p][p]This update features a slew of news from our next playtest to freshly art'd maps and our first in-game cosmetics for Tyr. We run this series in video form, too, and you can catch the latest installment below.[/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p]Are you a fellow text enjoyer? Dig in below.[/p]
We're playtesting Tyr this weekend
[p]Our private playtest sessions continue this weekend with our longest playtest yet. We're playtesting Tyr on Saturday, beginning at 12pm PT and running until 6pm PT. This is an updated playtest that features fresh content, which you can learn about below and by visiting the private patch notes channel in our Discord... assuming you're a member of our private playtest community.[/p][p]You can join that private playtest community at https://stoke.firstlook.gg.[/p][p]Here's that playtest time converted to other regions, too.[/p][p]Note: We're looking to host an open playtest here on Steam soon. You'll be able to register directly on our Steam page, no NDA or account linking required. We had this registration form open last week, but we saw so much initial interest that we elected to pause registration until we get closer to the open playtest. [/p][p]Thank you for your interest! We'll reopen registration soon.[/p]
Tank Styles and a couple of cosmetics arrive
[p]One of the fresh additions to Tyr in this update, aside from all the balance changes and fine-tuning based on playtester feedback, is our new cosmetics. In total, we're adding three Tank Styles (think skins), a death explosion, and a tank charm (you can catch a glimpse of that charm in the video above).[/p][p]
[/p][p]These cosmetics have been added to the Territory Scan drop table, but they are intentionally very rare. The main way to get them in the future will be through a direct purchase with gold, which will eventually be a paid currency, but will also have a chance to drop through Territory Scans.[/p]
A prototype map graduates to receive its art pass
[p]Divide is the latest map in Tyr to receive art polish. This desert map, teeming with red rocks destined for cover and alien buildings amid their outcroppings, is officially back in the map pool for this weekend's playtest.[/p][p]
[/p][p]You can see the map in motion in the dev update video at the head of this post if you're interested.[/p][p]That's it for this update. We'll see you on the battlefield. 🫡 [/p][p]In the meantime, be sure to add Tyr to your wishlist.[/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p]
