Chaotic new co-op roguelike kicks off public Steam playtest

As we get our first glimpses of Hades 2 and Slay the Spire 2, it's a good time to be a fan of roguelike games of all shapes and sizes. Cutting its way through the crowd is Lost Castle 2, a sequel to the 2016 co-op action roguelite that blends Castle Crashers-style combat with character, upgrade, and progression systems akin to those of Rogue Legacy and Dead Cells. Now, thanks to a new public playtest that's available as a free Steam demo, you and your friends can jump in and check out the latest developments ahead of its early access launch.

The second playtest for Lost Castle 2 has started!

Dear Treasure Hunters,
It's been almost two months since our last PlayTest. Are you all eagerly anticipating more thrilling content? Well, the wait is over! The second limited-time PlayTest of Lost Castle 2 will open on April 18th 3:00 (Pacific Time)!

During this PlayTest, you'll have the chance to explore 3 levels and face off against 7 BOSSes. The online multiplayer mode is currently undergoing debugging, and we will open the online multiplayer mode test portal according to the testing process. We welcome both new and returning friends to join in this PlayTest, and as always, we'll be collecting your feedback, opinions, and suggestions on the Steam community.

Please note that this PlayTest marks Lost Castle 2's second opening testing phase. As the game is still in development, there may have some peculiar bugs, for which we kindly ask for your forgiveness in advance. Blending the style of classic co-op action RPG Castle Crashers with the roguelite stylings of Dead Cells, Hades, and Rogue Legacy, Lost Castle 2 is the sequel to an oft-overlooked 2016 action roguelike that itself boasts a very respectable 88% Steam rating, giving it a 'very positive' score from almost 20,000 user reviews. As developer Hunter Studio continues to work ahead of the game's planned Steam Early Access launch, a Lost Castle 2 playtest lets you try out the new game right now with a free Steam demo including the first two levels.

The first playtest for Lost Castle 2 has started!

Attention hunters! The much-awaited Lost Castle 2 is now open for its first playtest. Join us on a new adventure!

In this trial version, players can experience two levels of the single player game for free. The online multiplayer mode is currently undergoing debugging, and we will open the online multiplayer mode test portal according to the testing process. We welcome both old and new friends to participate in the online trial and provide feedback on the trial experience, as well as any comments and suggestions.

The Lost Castle 2 demo is available for free download on Steam until Tuesday 13th February at midnight. Hurry up and explore the Castle Black region!

This is the first time that Lost Castle 2 is available for online testing. Since the game is not yet finished, there may be some strange bugs that hunters may encounter. We kindly ask for your forgiveness in advance.
