Update 207 Sneak Peek: Expanding the Survival


We’re working on a brand new advanced Survival Mode. This is not just a modification of the current survival system, but a separate experience designed for players looking for deeper gameplay.

Our next update will introduce new survival systems, including environmental hazards that change how you explore and build, and mechanics like food management and farming that will play a key role in staying alive on the frontier.

Stability
  • Fixed a Crash when welding a projection of a block with Artificial Horizon App
  • Fixed a Crash when populating the Join Game screen server list
  • Fixed a Crash when merging grids with one or more Event Controllers active and monitoring the merge
Functional
  • Changed Small grid Hinge to also accept: SG Advanced Rotor Part 3x3, LG Advanced Rotor Part, LG Rotor Part
  • Fixed an issue where the bottom part of Lab Experiment C was not air tight
  • Fixed an issue where the floor part of a Bridge Sloped Corner Base did not have mount points on all sides
  • Fixed an issue where the game config file refused to save after leaving a session where Voxel hand settings were changed
  • Fixed an issue where the Scripting ModAPI did not compile due to the inability to resolve List<> types into memory safe ones
  • Fixed an issue where the secondary keybindings with a modifier collided with the primary keybinds without a modifier
  • Fixed an issue where the top part of Lab O2/H2 Generator was air tight
  • Fixed an issue where the Warship encounter flew away at max speed, without giving a chance to chase it
UI
  • Fixed an issue where the unsaved changes in GPS name and description would revert when moving the color slider
  • Reverted a fix for an issue where the remote removal PCU UI would not count const. stages of blocks as 1 PCU; It was displaying wrong info on shared grids.

After six years, beloved building game Space Engineers gets a total overhaul

Sometimes you just want to build stuff. The "building factories in space" genre has no shortage of great games, but Space Engineers still stands out. It's a sprawling sandbox in the spirit of Factorio, Rimworld, and Astroneer. Though the game just got a sequel in January 2025, developers Keen Software House just put out a major update to the original title which overhauls faction interactions, improves planetside adventures, and adds oodles of quality-of-life features.

  • Fixed a silent Crash in physics/audio when bumping into invalid collisions around Chairless Lab Desk Corner Inv.
Functional
  • Changed Large grid Hinge to also accept: SG Rotor Part,SG Advanced Rotor Part,SG Advanced Rotor Part 3x3; Small grid Hinge 3x3 to also accept: SG Rotor Part, SG Advanced Rotor Part
  • Fixed an issue where the Inset Refill Station had only one airtight face. Sides without visible holes are now airtight (Front, Top, Bottom)
  • Fixed an issue where the Small grid Exhaust Cap did not work
  • Fixed an issue where a personal GPS was being removed due to Unknown Signal expiring under specific conditions
Modding
  • Fixed an issue where the ModAPI disallowed typeless block category definitions for mods with SubtypeId format instead of TypeId/SubtypeId
  • Fixed an issue where the Scripting ModAPI List.ToHashSet() returned a List instead of a HashSet
UI
  • Fixed an issue where the German localisation had typos or contextual mistakes
  • Fixed an issue where the readonly (made by the game, not the player) GPSes did not have a functioning Copy to Clipboard button
Art
  • Fixed an issue where the Bed block lost its Control panel model part
  • Fixed an issue where the Bridge (Raised) Sloped Corner Floorless had inverted geometry in lower LoDs
  • Fixed an issue where the Lab Vat had a missing decal with orientation text and off-center dummy for the particles
  • Fixed an issue where the Large grid Interior Light had a rotated dummy, leading to pointlight being offset
  • Fixed an issue where the Medical Room had a shading issue on maximum LoD
