Amygdala 2.9.0 - Personal Room, General Fix & Gameplay adjustments
Hi everyone!
The Virtual Photo event ends today and with that comes an update for Amygdala!
Amygdala updates to a new version 2.9.0 and adds, corrects and modifies some functions
To avoid compatibility problems with save games I recommend everyone start a new game. Otherwise you may encounter unwanted issues due to some non-retroactive gameplay changes.

  • Personal Room: Inside the Amygdala there is now a personal room, with no function other than to let the Nightmare Seeker relax. Inside the Personal Room you will find the three paintings of the three screens chosen during the Virtual Photo Event. it is likely to be expanded in future updates.
  • New Achievement: A new Achievement related to the Personal Room has been added.
  • General Bug Fixs: Some bugs have been fixed, however it is possible there are others, don't forget to let me know via steam threads, I will try to fix them as soon as possible.
  • Beauty Nightmare - Part II, gameplay change Some changes have been made to reduce the redundancy of searching and using keys. In the second part of the beauty nightmare, the player had to find two keys inside the cells to open two doors on the sides of the trapped heart. Now the player will have to turn off the monitors inside the cells in order to destroy the organic blocks and continue into the side rooms.
  • Emergency switches removed: The emergency switches were buttons that were used to eliminate the final door when a bug occurred, but they confused the player. Now it seems that the bug no longer occurs (in the final door), so these buttons have been removed.

Special thanks to all the participants of the Virtual Photo Event, selected, they were all beautiful screens!
Three honorable mentions present within the game as painted:

Thanks for the support!

Amygdala - Bug Fixing

- Fixed an issue that prevented some doors from opening correctly in Part 2 of the "Beauty" Nightmare

(In the future it is possible that the gameplay of this area will be slightly modified)

These small hotfixes should not compromise the saves, but it is always recommended to make new saves after the patches/hot fixes to avoid possible conflicts.

Thanks to user ValenVain for reporting, if you find any other bugs, please report!

Thank you!

Amygdala - 2.8.5 Bug Fixing

- Fixed an issue that caused some heads to get stuck in the wall
- Fixed an issue that caused some book get stuck in the floor
- Reduced the impulse of throwing heads and books avoiding several problems

Amygdala v2.8 Hotfix 1
Amygdala v2.8 Hotfix 1
In the Nightmare of Insatiable Knowledge there are several healing items, I decided to rework the fall
damage

  • General: Fall damage resistance increase from 5% to 50%
  • General: Safe Fall Height(cm) increase from 50 to 700

These changes should make the Nightmare of Insatiable Knowledge less frustrating during falls. it is possible that this value will be adjusted again in the future.

  • Nightmare of Insatiable Knowledge: Added a block that prevents you from immediately going to the end of the nightmare.

Special mention to TheMrSark (https://www.twitch.tv/themrsark) for the official speedrun% world record for Nightmare of Insatiable Knowledge

  • Beauty's Nightmare: Fixed an issue where the TV in the cell wouldn't turn off properly
  • Nightmare of the Big Head: Corrected the order of symbols on the altar
  • Nightmare of the Big Head: Altar trapdoor doors are now more visible (color changed and added a bigger glowing effect and two additional handles)
  • Nightmare of the Big Head: Ladder collision under trap door improved
  • Nightmare of the Big Head: Added a document that gives clues on how to find the key to room 4

Amygdala v2.8 - Gameplay Overhaul, Improvement & New Content

Hi everyone!

This is the fourth day of the game's release, I'm happy to see that all the previous fixes made resolve most of the issues, both bug related and game optimization related.

So in these two days I dedicated myself to improving the overall gaming experience. I've seen several streamers playing Amygdala, collected feedback and listened to all the doubts related to some mechanics, so...Today Amygdala is updated to version 2.8!

An important note below:

If you started the game on previous versions, you may encounter bugs due to the conflict between an old and new version of the game, this is because big changes have been made between one version and another, I therefore invite everyone to play a new game in order to avoid bugs.

I know this may be frustrating for some, but it improves the overall experience.

  • General: All initial tutorials have now been moved to the HUB, plus some last longer before disappearing to allow for better reading
  • Nightmare of Insatiable Knowledge: The way up has been further improved, collisions now let the player go up without too many problems and there is now an arrow to indicate the beginning of the path.
  • Nightmare of Insatiable Knowledge: The books to take now have a bright outline, which makes them more visible and clear in interaction.

  • Nightmare of Insatiable Knowledge: The books now have Roman numerals on the pages, which better identify which mouth it should be given to.
  • Nightmare of Insatiable Knowledge: in the environment near the mouths to feed there are now symbols that identify which books I want to eat.

  • Nightmare of Insatiable Knowledge: Fixed some things related to the AI, it is now much slower and tries to attack you from a greater distance, this will make it more difficult to body block you.
  • Nightmare of Insatiable Knowledge: New path have been added, this will allow you to bypass monsters in case its AI freezes, this prevents it from body blocking you.
  • Nightmare of Insatiable Knowledge: Some "necks" of the small mouths have been shrunk, now it is possible to take the key without having to necessarily feed all three mouths in the corridor. This change favors different gameplay approaches.
  • Nightmare of Beauty: Fixed some things related to the AI, it is now much slower and tries to attack you from a greater distance, this will make it more difficult to body block you.
  • Nightmare of Beauty: New path have been added, this will allow you to bypass monsters in case its AI freezes, this prevents it from body blocking you.

  • Big Heads Nightmare: Rooms that have heads for altars now have symbols on them that better identify the importance of the room and which head is for which altar.
New Content:
• Steam: New steam achievement "Echo - Amygdala 1994.07.31" Get one echo inside the Amygdala 1994.07.31.
  • General: Added documents that justify and insert into the game lore all the changes made at the gameplay level.
  • Amygdala HUB: There are five new echoes inside the HUB.
  • Amygdala HUB: The paths in the side stairs have been cleared, you can now go under the absolute judge without having to climb up the books in a tricky way.
  • Amygdala HUB: Fixed some books clipping in bookshelves.
  • Big Heads Nightmare: Added audio files for an "angry personality" head (one of the three heads that must be brought to the altar).

Thank you all for your feedback and patience. I definitely plan to add more (free) content to the title in the future. I currently have no further patches in the works, for now I will collect more feedback for future updates.

PS. I am also collecting feedback to adjust the minimum and recommended requirements on the Steam page.

Thank you all!
