Hello, this is the development team of The Great Villainess: Strategy of Lily.

It’s been a little while since our last update, but today we’re excited to bring you a new patch featuring user-requested features and key bug fixes.

[h3]▼ New Features & System Adjustments[/h3]
We’ve implemented several improvements including full controller support, double speed toggle, and more visibility during battles:

- Added controller support.
- Characters who retreated (HP hit 0) will now still gain experience after a victory.
- Implemented keybind customization options (gamepad not supported).
- Added a “2x Speed” toggle to battle speed options.
- Added a “Squad Details” screen accessible during battles to check unit stats and passive skills.


[h3]▼ Bug Fixes & Additional Tweaks[/h3]
- The Options menu now includes descriptions for each difficulty level at any time.
- Fixed an issue where certain tutorial images became overly pixelated at medium or low graphical settings.
- Fixed a line in the “Unite Episode” between Rubeus and Sapphirus where dialogue meant for Rubeus was mistakenly assigned to Sapphirus.
- Corrected a translation error in “Let's take a look!” where “Duke” was incorrectly displayed as “Baron.”
- In the Squad menu (bottom right), unit names will now auto-adjust spacing when name length exceeds the frame.
- Fixed an issue where only Scarlet and Lily were shown in the unit name display, now all ally units are shown.
- Long comments shown on the top-right of the main screen will now auto-adjust if they exceed the space.

Hello, this is the development team of The Great Villainess: Strategy of Lily.

Since the launch of the full version, an incredible number of players have played the game, and we’ve been featured as one of the top releases of July 2025.
The entire team is deeply encouraged by this, and it’s all thanks to your warm feedback and support.
We sincerely thank you!

We’re carefully reading all your posts and reviews on the Community Hub, as well as livestreams and videos on social media and various platforms.
(We’re sure Lady Scarlet herself is watching your streams and smiling…!)

Today, we’d like to report on several bug fixes and balance adjustments.


[h3]▼ Fixes and Game Adjustments[/h3]
We received a lot of feedback about the enemies in the final act.
The goal was to create a structure where Scarlet and her allies grow stronger together to overcome overwhelmingly powerful enemies.
However, to enable smoother gameplay, we’ve made slight balance adjustments:

・Increased the number of followers gained after each battle in the final act
・Increased the number of followers gained after the speech event

By increasing public support faster, you can benefit from things like:
“higher starting MP in command battles” & “stronger forces in delegated battles.”
Skills that scale with follower count will also be more useful.

Examples:
- Scarlet’s passive skill “Crimson Banner” now heals more HP
- Lily’s EX skill “On the Stage” now has higher stun success rate
- Scarlet & Lily’s Unison Skill “Hold Me to Thy Bosom” now stuns more reliably

We’ve also made a few other fixes and adjustments:

・Minor animation tweaks to the Prologue tutorial battle
・In Act 2, simply unlocking the bypass route incorrectly triggered the “Great Wall detour” branch — this now happens only when you reach the bypass outpost


[h3]▼ Bug Fixes & Optimization[/h3]

Thank you for your patience. We’ve also carried out bug fixes and optimization.

- Revised memory management to reduce memory usage during gameplay
- Improved loading time when loading save data
- Fixed a progression-blocking issue where units could be placed beyond outpost capacity when Sanjay and Carmine or Primula and Jane joined simultaneously
- Fixed a bug where getting stunned before counterattacking in battle caused no damage and softlocked the game
- Fixed a UI bug where pressing multiple menu buttons at once on the main screen broke the layout
- Fixed issue in some enemy commander defeat scenarios where stats-up dialogs failed to advance
- Fixed an issue where backgrounds did not darken properly during skill enhancement scenes for some enemy commanders
- Fixed a delay in visual effects disappearing when switching from 3D to 2D maps
- Removed unintended frame rate cap settings from language/difficulty options during initial launch
- Fixed incorrect effect positioning for Scarlet & Primula’s Unison skill
- Fixed display issues with ground contact and effects for Uisce & Carmine’s bond skill
- Fixed incorrect camera positioning for Sanjay & Carmine’s Unison Skill
- Fixed temporary narrow FOV bug after Nicol’s panic scene when supply lines are threatened in Act 1
- Replaced the incorrect video for Strategy Dogma “Unit Movement II”
- Fixed Almeria’s skill “Here's the Truth” which stunned for 3 turns instead of the intended 1 turn
- Adjusted line spacing and other typography issues in Simplified Chinese
- Minor fixes to various localized text



We plan to continue releasing multiple updates for the full version, aiming for around September.
However, as we’re concentrating our resources on full version development, the differences with the demo version have become significant.

As a result, we have decided to end public availability of the demo version in order to focus fully on the full version.
We deeply apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Update Patch v1.0.1

We’ve released update v1.0.1.
The following additions and fixes have been implemented.


・Added a framerate cap option
 *This setting becomes available when "V-Sync" is turned off
・Fixed an issue where, after attacking a certain base with more units than its stack limit,
 units that did not participate in the battle could still be selected as moving units
・Changed the default graphics quality setting in Options to "Medium"
・Fixed a bug in Act 2 where, if you defeated Blaubeere while friendly units were stationed at South Glaston or Glass Village, enemy units could spawn on top of those friendly units
・Fixed an issue where two Unison Skills were being displayed for Rebecca and Harold in battle scenes
・Fixed a bug in the latter half of Act 4 where allied units were not positioned correctly around the Imperial Capital
・Fixed an issue where you couldn’t deploy new allies if there were no valid bases nearby when they joined
・Fixed a bug where Rebecca's skill would activate unintentionally when she appeared as an enemy unit
・Fixed a bug in the final Act where certain enemy units had slightly higher stats than intended
・Fixed a progression-blocking bug where skipping the animation when Scarlet’s stats increased after defeating an enemy commander would freeze the game
・Fixed a bug where voice mute wouldn’t work in certain story scenes
・Fixed a bug where the ★ animation for base upgrades did not play during redeployment
・Fixed some localization text issues in English

Director's Message: Current Issues and Upcoming Updates

Hello, this is the development team of The Great Villainess: Strategy of Lily.

Since the official release, we've seen an incredible number of players enjoying the game. We deeply appreciate your warm encouragement and valuable feedback aimed at improving the game. Thank you very much!

We carefully examine every review, community hub post, livestream, and social media comment, and they greatly motivate our entire team.


[h3]▼ Current Issues Being Addressed[/h3]

We are currently preparing fixes for the following issues:

- Fix for an issue preventing deployment if no appropriate base exists when recruiting allies.
- Fix for unintended skill activation when Rebecca appears as an enemy unit.
- Fix for certain enemy units having slightly higher than intended stats in the final act.
- Fix for a progression issue occurring when skipping the stat boost sequence after defeating a General, causing Scarlet's status to increase.
- Fix for voice playback that occasionally doesn't stop in some scenario parts.
- Fix for the ★ blinking animation for base reinforcement not displaying correctly upon redeployment.
- Corrections for some localized text (English).

The above issues will be addressed in an update as soon as preparations are complete. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to our players and appreciate your patience as we work swiftly to resolve these issues.

We have received many comments and suggestions regarding gameplay optimization. Updates will be rolled out progressively as soon as preparations are finalized.

[h3]▼ Gameplay Tips[/h3]

Lastly, we’d like to highlight a few commonly overlooked points when facing strong enemies:

- Stacking Support Skills

In our game's "Command Combat," support skills (buffs/debuffs) are highly effective. These effects can be stacked to further strengthen and amplify their effects.

(※The image above illustrates the changes when stacking Uisce's skill "Observation Correction.")

This strategy is particularly crucial in battles against strong enemies and useful for protecting allies who may have fallen behind in levels. Feel free to try it in-game.




- "Revolutionary" Attribute

The Revolutionary attribute gives you an edge against standard troops (soldiers, gunners, cavalry). Make sure to take advantage of it in critical moments.


- Checking Enemy Details

By right-clicking enemy icons on the map and selecting "Details," you can view detailed enemy information, including conditions for recruiting enemy Generals, parameters, and available skills. Please utilize this as a reference when planning your strategy.

While we recognize certain aspects of the game may still be causing inconveniences, our entire development team continues in striving to provide you with a more enjoyable gaming experience.

Demo Update Patch v0.2.1

We have released teh v0.2.1 update.

- Added “The Great Strategy Guide” and “Discord” buttons to the title screen.

- Save screen now displays the turn count at the time of save for each save data.
(Previously saved data will display “Turn 000”, but gameplay is not affected.)


- Optimized the guillotine scene in the Prologue for lighter performance.
- When “Medium Graphics” or “Low Graphics” settings are selected, or when playing on Steam Deck, story character graphics are now compressed for better performance.


- Mouse cursor can move outside the game while in “Fullscreen” mode.
(The “Borderless” setting has been removed.)
- Fixed an issue in the Prologue where it was possible to skip parts using the Ctrl key even when the skip button should have been disabled.
- Fixed a bug where the camera’s field of view temporarily expanded after the Stream Airship tutorial in Act 1.
- Fixed the display for trust level increases.
- Fixed an issue where some objects were disappearing on the map.
- Fixed an issue where some tutorial videos displayed incorrectly on Steam Deck.
- Fixed an unintended trigger of the “Stream Airship Range” tutorial during the Capture Stream tutorial in Act 1.
- Fixed inconsistent translations for “Stream” and “Capture” in Traditional Chinese.


- Changed text alignment for “Act Save” to left-aligned.
- Various localization text adjustments and fixes.
