Gameplay Deep Dive #5 - Focus on the GT3 category

This week we shift gears to talk about a category that attracts the most fans, sponsors and media attention through a combination of high-performance cars, professional competition, and global exposure!

What is the GT3 category?

➡️ It is one of the most popular and competitive forms of sports car racing in the world. It serves as a bridge between amateur racing and professional top-tier motorsport, offering a higher level of performance and technology compared to the GT4 category.

➡️ While more costly than GT4, GT3 racing attracts a diverse range of competitors, including factory-backed teams and privateers drivers. The category's appeal lies in its blend of professional and amateur participation, creating highly competitive and entertaining races.

➡️ GT3 cars are heavily modified versions of production models, with extensive changes allowed to enhance performance, aerodynamics, and safety. Regulations ensure a balance of performance among the different car manufacturers, governing aspects such as engine power, weight, aerodynamics, and safety features. These cars often feature advanced technology and high levels of customization.

➡️ It provides a platform for professional teams, experienced drivers, and manufacturers to showcase their skills and technology on a global stage. It is also a proving ground for up-and-coming drivers aiming to advance their careers in motorsport.

➡️ International and regional championships play a significant role in GT3 racing. The category is featured in numerous prestigious series, providing teams and drivers with a global platform to compete. Examples include the GT World Challenge Series, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, and the Intercontinental GT Challenge.

➡️ Manufacturers such as Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG, and Porsche actively participate in GT3 racing, seeing it as an important part of their motorsport programs. The cars' performance, technology, and branding make GT3 a significant marketing tool for these manufacturers.

Development Update & New Early Acces Date

Dear Managers,

We have an important update to share with you regarding the release of GT Manager.
After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to postpone the Early Access release by two weeks.

Instead of launching on September 3rd, we are now targeting a new release date of September 18th.

This additional time will help us ensure we deliver the best possible experience for you. In appreciation of your patience and support, we’re excited to share some exclusive development updates:
  • Extended Race Lengths: Based on your feedback, we are making the races longer, sprint races will now be 15 laps, and endurance races will be 30 laps. This also implies rebalancing all stats and strategies to enhance gameplay.
  • HQ and Team Management Evolution: We’re fine-tuning the budget and costs to ensure a well-balanced management experience. The HQ is being reworked and your progression will be visually more impactful as you advance from an emerging team manager to an elite team, you’ll start with a modest base of operations and see it evolve as you advance through the leagues.
  • Content Updates: All cars, liveries, and drivers are currently being implemented. Stay tuned as we reveal the full lineup for each category in the coming days.
  • Visual and Audio Enhancements: We’re polishing 3D and 2D elements, introducing exciting new animations like podium celebrations, and updating the race HUD. Additionally, we are working on sound improvements regarding race atmosphere and car engines.

Our primary goal is to make GT Manager as enjoyable as possible, and we believe this brief delay will help us achieve that.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you on September 18th!
