# 🐾 Patch Notes: Improved Monster Encounters

Hello, Zookeepers!

We’re thrilled to introduce Improved Monster Encounters—a major update packed with exciting changes to combat and gameplay. Check out the details below!

With the introduction of these major updates, some players might encounter issues with older save files. Please rest assured that we are actively working on addressing this.

To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend starting a new game session to avoid potential errors.

## ⚔️ New Combat System
- Locked in Battle: You are now trapped in the enclosure with the monster.
- Every Action Matters: Each action and resource is crucial for survival.
- Boss Battles: Gates now close during boss fights.
- Dart Containers: Added containers to supply darts for the fight.
- Stronger Monsters: Monsters now have increased health.
- Damage Over Time: Attacks now deal gradual damage.

## 🩺 New Monster Healing System
- Healing the boss is now separate from combat.
- After defeating the boss, you can choose to heal or kill it.

## ☠️ Player Death
- Fighting a monster can now cost your life.
- Health Indicator: A new player health bar appears during fights.
- If your health runs out, the monster will kill you.

## 🧬 Parasitic Infection
- Parasite infections now weaken you during battles.
- PDA Update: A new infection level tab has been added to the PDA.
- Higher infection levels reduce your health, making fights more dangerous.

## 🐾 Monster Spawning
- Boss appearances are now more unpredictable.
- Monsters attack when you least expect it.
- Spawn rules for monsters have been overhauled.

## 😈 New Monster Behavior
- Monsters are now more aggressive.
- They’ve gained new, unique traits, making encounters tougher.

## 🎵 New Monster Sounds
- A variety of new combat sounds have been added for monsters.

We’ve just released another patch to address several bugs and improve your experience. Thank you for sharing your feedback and helping us make the game better!

### 🛠 Fixes and Improvements:
- 📨 Fixed an issue where two identical messages from Doc were sent.
- 📞 Fixed a bug where Doc's call in the enclosure was interrupted after loading the game.
- 🎮 Gamepad support improved: You can now scroll through the list of diseases in the analyzer.
- 🎥 Addressed minor cutscene issues in some endings.
- 🔊 Added a sound effect for opening the Ending Tracker.
- 🎮 Fixed gamepad bugs, such as overly fast input in the vet station.

🎮 Patch Notes #28 - Hotfix 🎮

Dear Zookeepers,

Here’s a quick hotfix to address some pressing issues. Thank you for reporting them and helping us improve the game!

🛠 Fixes:
Fixed an issue where the Final Ending 0 cutscene would not start, displaying only a black screen instead.
Resolved a bug that blocked controls when quickly attempting to slice a new briquette.
Fixed the tracker not separating by profiles, which caused endings to be tracked across all profiles simultaneously.

Dear Zookeepers,
As part of the Steam Autumn Sale, we’re releasing Major Update #3!

🚀 What's New:
- Optimized for Steam Deck
- Full controller support added
- Ending tracker now available



🛠️ Fixes:
- Fixed storage room doors being locked forever.
- Fixed gamepad controls not available at some moments.
- Fixed the briquette trolley lever that didn’t work in rare cases.
- Fixed meat briquettes sometimes being impossible to be placed onto the trolly.
- Penguins should now always produce feces after eating.
- Fixed Paul’s shoulders and hands that were visible during some interactions.
- Fixed the moose mutant that could attack through walls.
- Wallaby mutant now properly screams when hit with any shot.
- Fixed some cases of wallabys creating a traffic jam in the passage to the rest area.
- Fixed some cases of Paul’s hands appearing uninfected in several animations.
- Improved some petting animations.
- Fixed severed hand appearing more than once.
- Fixed some of Doc’s lines in the tutorial triggering when the player was too far away.
- Fixed poison injection choice for keyboards with a non-QWERTY layout.
- Fixed Doc sometimes getting stuck in the tunnel when pushing the cart back to the train.
- Fixed the new game warning appearing even if there’s no progress to reset.
- Fixed positions for parasites that were vomited out on elevated surfaces.
- Fixed PDA being accessible before the NDA was signed.
- Fixed animals reacting to being aimed at with a gun through the enclosure walls
