This Grand Life 2 News

Firstly, a bit of news - I've decided to do the full game launch in August this year, although not sure on the exact date yet. As such I'll be spending the next few updates polishing up some things to improve the overall experience.

This update is focused improving the audio experience, so no screenshots to show off this time.

• Add sound effects for all UI elements
  
• Add functionality for sound effects when opening sites depending on the type of site
  
• Fix some inconsistencies in window opening/closing when relevant button pressed
  

Following on from the last update, this one introduces the Lobbying passion. Lobbying allows you to Host Political Conference, Challenge Law In Court or Donate To Political Group to generate late game Influence Points.

Challenging a law in court is particularly risky and most useful for experienced lawyers, but the rewards are substantial if you succeed.



In other news, there's a new button on the Income, Time and XP Statements to toggle between monthly and yearly views:

• Change percentage of stored Influence Points spent each month from 80% to 50%
  
• Change goal outcome influence volatility calculation and made it consistent with other influence volatility types
  
• Disable setting max times for purchasing activities in Auto Actions window
  
• Add monthly/yearly toggle to Income, Time and XP Statements (there will be slight discrepancies in the year values recorded before this update)
  
• Fix some issues with Income, Time and XP Statements displays when too many categories
  

This update introduces the Investigative Journalism passion - for those characters who like Authority and would prefer not to Mass Protest, but still want to influence government policies through non-corporate actions.



Successfully exposing Political Misconduct will give you a good chunk of influence points



while failing to expose Corporate Fraud could lead to a Defamation Lawsuit



So make sure to verify your evidence before writing up the investigation!



In other news, the Create Public Company screen now has a Company Quality indicator to make it clearer how you can expect your IPO to perform:

• Fix "Create Public Company" estimated earnings from real estate using slightly different calculation compared to value shown on UI
  
• Remove age restriction on Corporate Espionage and Mass Protest passions
  
• Fix some passion goal outcomes playing successful sound effect when result was a minor fail
