Update Notes For v0.67.00 - IPOs, Bankruptcies and Desperate Acts
Creating Public Companies
Create your own public companies by combining your businesses and real estate, and list them on the stock market! You will be given 25% ownership in the new entity while 75% is offered to the public.

Once a company is listed, you lose control of the individual assets and it will behave like any other company on the stock market.

Keep in mind, all the extra investment money flowing into the new company will increase the related Competition Indexes - so be careful not to end up competing with your own businesses.
Bankruptcy and Desperate Acts
I've seen a bit of feedback that the stock market feels like too much of a gamble when a bankrupted stock wipes out your entire investment. This update introduces changes to give some warning and smaller losses before a complete wipeout can occur.
Before going bankrupt, a listed company will perform a "desperate act" to try and save itself.
Larger companies will downsize operations, causing a sudden reduction in equity per share but (hopefully) stabilising the company at a lower valuation.

Smaller companies will raise capital, diluting the percentage ownership of existing shareholders. This also reduces equity per share since the new shareholders are able to invest at advantageous prices.

If you are invested in a company and they perform a desperate act, you will be notified in the monthly summary window.

Bankruptcy only occurs if the company needs to perform another desperate act within 6 months of the last one. Performing the Research Stock activity will tell you if the company is at risk.

If "Sudden Bankruptcy Syndrome" made you swear off the stock market before, give it another try in this update!
