February Round-Up!

Hi everyone!

We hope you’ve been having fun with experimenting the new body parts and exploring all the creature shrines throughout February. We’d love to know your thoughts on all our new content! Each and every piece of feedback help our game evolve and prepare for its release this year, and we'd really appreciate your opinion on even the most minute of details.

Today’s round-up will be short and sweet. This month, we took part in the Quebec Games Celebration and joined up with hundreds of games from Quebec! It’s our honour to display our demo alongside so many amazing titles from Canada!

Of course, more exciting content is in the works, so stay tuned on our socials (Twitter, YouTube and TikTok) to get the latest news and memes of Strange Seed!

January Round Up 🍖

Hello and welcome to the first monthly round up of 2025 for Strange Seed!

2025 is set to be an exciting year for Strange Seed and it's full speed ahead for the release of the full game later in the year. In the meantime however we will be keeping the demo up to date with the latest game improvements - the feedback from the demo is helping make Strange Seed the best version of Strange Seed so thank you and please keep the feedback rolling in.

The first demo update of the year just launched and it's quite a meaty one - here are the headliners:

 • Four new creature shrines (starfish/conch, squirrel, devil's coach beetle, and axolotl)
 • Dodge and block abilities on certain creature parts
 • Save slots for creatures allowing you to swap outside a nest (after you pick up a special item)
 • Creature bestiary showing what you've met and which parts you're missing
 • New accessories menu with full customization of position, scale, rotation, etc

Whose that Pokémon creature!?

2024 Recap!

2024 is ending and this year we have accomplished A LOT with Strange Seed. Playtest, demo release, updates, and even finding ourselves a publisher! Let’s do a quick recap of the year!
Demo Release and Updates!
On September 26, 2024, the Strange Seed demo went online. A massive thanks to our amazing playtester group. We’ve made many substantial changes to the game based on all the feedback in the playtest, with new content, new features, bug fixes, more bug fixes, optimizations, and… did I mention bug fixes?

Of course, a demo is just the beginning, and we are continuously updating the game with new feedback coming in every day (a shoutout to everyone who checked out our demo and gave us even more helpful feedback). In November, we had 2 demo build updates which introduced a myriad of optimizations in gameplay, UI and performance, as well as more bug fixes and new content.

If you run into any new issues in Strange Seed, do let us know via the in-game feedback form or our Discord feedback channel so we can get it fixed asap!
New Publisher
We are really happy to join up with Slug Disco as our publisher this year. With their support, we are taking more time to polish Strange Seed and evolve it a little more before going into a full launch. Here’s a sizzle reel on their YouTube channel and we are in there too!
Plans for 2025
We are currently aiming for a 2025 release, as we are looking to expand the game with more creature parts, more abilities and more areas. We will be looking for playtesters around early 2025 for areas not included in the demo version. If you want to get a sneak peek of our content early, join our Discord to get updates on our playtest!

We hope everyone had an awesome 2024 and is enjoying Strange Seed’s demo. We are super grateful for such a dedicated and supportive community to our game and our game would not be the same without all your help. Every demo download, every wishlist and every piece of feedback helps our little pink blob evolve into something better.

With 2025 closing in, there’s more content around the corner so please look forward to our new evolutions! Make sure you follow us on Twitter, YouTube and TikTok as well for the latest Strange Seed news (and memes)!

Announcing our publisher and 2025 release

Strange Seed has found a publisher! We're happy to announce that we've joined up with Slug Disco.

In case you don't know Slug Disco, they're actually a developer too -- they make Empires of the Undergrowth, the world's best strategy game about ants. They're also the publisher of Adapt, a Spore successor. You can probably guess why we thought they're a good match.
What's changing?
We'll take more time to polish Strange Seed. Originally we were rushing to launch and didn't have the funds needed to make the game its best. With Slug Disco's assistance and advice, we'll push that launch date back several months into 2025 and spend the extra time making the game great(er).

As far as the game's core mechanics, we won't be making any drastic changes from what you can see in the demo. The focus is on more creature parts, more abilities and more areas.
Want to test out the full game early?
In early 2025, we'll be looking for playtesters to try out some of the areas that aren't included in the demo.

If you're interested, join up to our Discord so that you can see our announcement when we're signing up testers.

We hope you're enjoying Strange Seed, and that we'll see you in the future!
