Act 2 is coming!
[h3]Hello fellow Innkeepers of the magic variety!! I hope you have all been doing well.  First the team and I want to sincerely thank you all for your patience with us as we know this update is long overdue.  We sincerely apologize for the delay in getting Act 2 in your hands, but we have been far from idle! Xiao has worked tirelessly on bug fixes and QOL features that we have been adding over time based on everyone’s feedback.  We take all feedback, both positive and negative quite seriously and work as hard as possible to turn that feedback into action.  I think you will all find that Act 2 will have been worth the wait.  We can’t wait to see you all having fun again in this game! Without further ado, let’s talk about what’s coming in Act 2. [/h3][p][/p]
New Features
[p][/p][h2]Secret Companion[/h2][h2][/h2][h2]Have you ever wondered who this little broom is? In Act 2, you get to meet her! Without revealing too much, she will be a capable help in your endeavor to build your new Inn.[/h2][h2]
Ghost Sphere Storyline
[/h2][h2]Laurel’s Inn is haunted. You can hear the whispers at night, and you know it has something to do with the giant ghost sphere hanging in the main hall. In Act 2, you will have to solve the mystery behind the ghost sphere and unlock the ability to interact with ghosts.[/h2][p][/p][h2]Expedition:[/h2][h2]The world of Magic Inn is full of dangerous sites ripe for exploration. In Act 2, you’ll recruit guards and bandits alike to assemble a team for expedition. The loots are key to upgrading your inn to the next level![/h2][p][/p][h2]Improved Build Mode with Grid Option:[/h2][h2]Many of our players are struggling with building mode in Magic Inn, and it negatively affects the joy of customizing your inn. So, we are working on grid options in Build mode and improving the overall experience of decorating to a much smoother experience.[/h2][p][/p][h2]High Level Guests:[/h2][h2]As you progress in Act 2 to earn more stars for your inn, you will encounter higher level customers, who become harder to please. In return, you’ll unlock more advanced resources, crafting recipes, and skills.[/h2][p][/p][h2]New Spells:[/h2][h2]With new challenges, you’ll also learn new and more powerful spells to help you manage the inn.[/h2][p][/p][h2]Brew Potions:[/h2][h2]You are not a true wizard without brewing a potion or two. In Act 2, you’ll learn potion recipes and play a new mini game to brew potions.[/h2][p][/p][h2]New Decorations:[/h2][h2]We’ve added many new decorations: magical ones and Christmas themed.[/h2][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]All Magical Innkeepers!! CALL TO ARMS!!!![/h2][p][/p][h3]As you can see, we have a lot that is happening with Act 2. So, the obvious question would be, “When can you get to play it!?” Well, it’s not far off at all.  The Beta test will open to the public on February 26th. To participate you just need to join our Discord and assign yourself the role of Beta Tester in the Channel & Roles section.  We need your help to combat as many bugs as possible in this beta test!! Do your worst my fellow Innkeepers! Break the game anyway you can and please remember to fill out a bug report on any issues you run into.  We are looking forward to your feedback! Magic Inn 0.77 Improving Staff Management and Stability

[p]Hi everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]Update 0.77 is probably the last update focused on improving the existing game before we move fully into Act 2. I know many of you have been asking when Act 2 is coming, and we’ll be sharing more news about it very soon—I promise it’s getting close.[/p][p]This update focuses on smoothing out core systems and addressing long-standing frustrations before the next big chapter arrives.[/p][h3]Staff Management Improvements[/h3][p][/p][p]One major change in this update is to staff management. I’ve decided to remove the feature that allowed you to send staff on vacation. While the idea made sense on paper, in practice it was frustrating to suddenly have missing staff on busy days, and it also introduced some tricky bugs that slowed development.[/p][p]That said, staff still have stamina, and they’ll recover naturally if you allow them to rest after work. The goal here is to keep the system meaningful without making it annoying.[/p][h3]Bedroom Decoration Bonus[/h3][p][/p][p]Decorating your bedroom now gives you a confidence boost every morning. This is a small but meaningful reward for players who take the time to make their room cozy and personal—and honestly, it just felt right for a game like Magic Inn.[/p][h3]Recipe Ingredient Visibility[/h3][p]Several players pointed out that there was no easy way to check recipe ingredients unless the recipe was already on the menu. That’s a great point.
With this update, ingredients are now shown directly in the recipe description, making planning and preparation much clearer.[/p][h3]UI Improvements (Ongoing!)[/h3][p][/p][p]As with previous updates, I’m continuing to refine the UI. In this patch, customer order displays and staff management screens have been simplified and cleaned up, especially during busy inn hours. There’s still more to do, but things should already feel more readable and intuitive.[/p][h3]Bug Fixes[/h3][p]Finally—thank you so much for reporting issues and sticking with the game. I’m sorry some of these took a while to address, but this update fixes a large batch of reported problems. Hopefully, Magic Inn is now in a much healthier state as we head toward Act 2:[/p]
  • [p]Fixed localization issues introduced by the new UI changes.[/p]
  • [p]UI Fix: Corrected alignment problems on 16:10 resolutions.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the Contract Tutorial and Service Tutorial.[/p]
  • [p]Various controller-related bug fixes.[/p]
  • [p]Bug Fix: Fixed an exploit where players could sell information to Ellie infinitely for unlimited money.[/p]
  • [p]Bug Fix: Buying discounted items from Ed’s shop no longer causes the shop to restock itself.[/p]
  • [p]Bug Fix: Fixed an issue where the protagonist would not spawn in the player bedroom at Laurel’s Inn.[/p]
  • [p]Bug Fix: Items placed in Laurel’s Inn Main Hall are now correctly counted toward room properties.[/p]

Magic Inn Patch 0.765 Bug Fixes

Hi everyone,

Patch 0.765 fixes an annoying and potentially game-breaking issue:
if a player placed a plate on a table at the exact moment a server was picking up a plate, the server could get stuck carrying a plate that could no longer be served. This issue has now been resolved.

This patch also includes a few small bug fixes related to Build Mode.

Magic Inn Update 0.764: User Interface Improvements and Bug Fixes

[p]Hi everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]I hope you all had a relaxing holiday![/p][p][/p][p]First, I’d like to address some concerns regarding the Act 2 content update. Act 2 is still actively in development, but it’s not ready for release yet. In the meantime, I’ve been focusing on fixing bugs and improving the existing game based on your feedback—this update is the result of that work.[/p][p][/p][h3]User Interface Improvements[/h3][p]In update 0.764, many parts of the user interface have been reworked to make them more consistent, easier to use, and more pleasant to look at. There are still more UI improvements planned for the future.[/p][p][/p][h3]Crafting Recipe Unlock Changes[/h3][p]Many players reported getting stuck during crafting because they were missing required recipes and didn’t know where to obtain them. Previously, some recipes were unlocked by upgrading the Dexterity skill, but this wasn’t clearly communicated in-game.[/p][p]To make this clearer and more intuitive, all crafting recipes are now unlocked through inn reputation upgrades, and the game will clearly show when each recipe becomes available.[/p][p][/p][h3]Critical Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • [p]Critical Bug Fix: Players could sometimes interact with previously encountered objects even when they were far out of range. This caused the character to teleport to the object, occasionally flying out of the building and breaking the game. This behavior was also frustrating and made interactions feel unreliable. This issue has now been fully fixed.[/p]
  • [p]Critical Bug Fix: If a player manually saved the game at night, loading that save would fail to show the customer feedback for that day in the summary. This has been fixed.[/p]
[h3]Smaller Bug Fixes[/h3]
  • [p]Bug Fix: Food displayed on plates now correctly matches their icons.[/p]
  • [p]Bug Fix: Room information in Laurel’s Inn can now be edited correctly.[/p]
  • [p]Bug Fix: The “open inn” reminder is now hidden when the player is in the market.[/p]
  • [p]Steam Deck Fix: During the Day 1 “open inn” tutorial, moving the right joystick will no longer bring up the Steam keyboard.[/p]

Magic Inn Patch 0.763: Bug Fixes

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, yesterday’s patch introduced a few unexpected bugs, so we’re releasing another quick update to fix them.

Controller Fix: In Laurel’s Inn, players could not press any button to exit the screen to expand the inn.

Critical Bug Fix: If the player was unable to serve a room guest, the game could crash after sleeping, resulting in the loss of an entire day’s progress.
