Magic Inn Patch 0.763: Bug Fixes

English Version

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, yesterday’s patch introduced a few unexpected bugs, so we’re releasing another quick update to fix them.

Controller Fix: In Laurel’s Inn, players could not press any button to exit the screen to expand the inn.

Critical Bug Fix: If the player was unable to serve a room guest, the game could crash after sleeping, resulting in the loss of an entire day’s progress.

Thank you for your patience, and thanks for playing! 💖

Magic Inn Patch 0.762: General Improvements and Bug Fixes

[p]Hi everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]Sorry we’ve been quiet for a while — we’ve been hard at work on Act 2, and it’s turning out even bigger than we originally planned![/p][p][/p][p]Today’s patch brings a number of improvements and bug fixes based on your feedback.[/p]

Improvement 1 – Rain Cloud Magic
[p][/p][p]Previously, when casting the rain cloud spell, your character was locked in place.
Now, you can freely move around while casting it, making it much more convenient and flexible. ☁️[/p][p][/p]

Improvement 2 – Faster Cleaning, Cooking, and Bartending
[p][/p][p]Many players felt the cleaning, cooking, and bartending processes were too slow — and that higher skill levels didn’t make much difference.
That’s changing now!
The speed of cooking and bartending now depends on your recipe difficulty, character skill, and equipment quality.
In short:[/p]
 • [p]Higher skill → faster cooking and bartending.[/p]
 • [p]Better stoves and tools → faster performance.[/p]
 • [p]And yes, your cleaning speed also improves as you practice![/p]

Improvement 3 – More Responsive Characters
[p][/p][p]Characters used to pause awkwardly before starting any task, making the inn feel sluggish — especially during busy hours.
This issue has been addressed!
Characters are now more responsive and will transition smoothly between tasks without unnecessary pauses.
(Note: some animations are still a bit slow; we plan to optimize these in a future update.)[/p]

Improvement 4 – Regulars Forgive Mistakes
[p][/p][p]Accidentally serving the wrong order and losing a regular was frustrating.
Now, your regulars will give you a second chance before deciding to stop visiting — after all, this is meant to be a cozy game! ☕[/p]

Bug Fixes
[p][/p]
 • [p]Fixed text size issues to ensure readability on Steam Deck.[/p]
 • [p]Day 1 now correctly includes one customer for drinks and one for pizza.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed an issue where NPCs kept moving during conversations.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed a bug where outer map tooltips remained visible after reopening the map.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed dialogue choice hover state persisting from the previous selection.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed incorrect hover behavior when viewing items in the shopping panel.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed a market exploit where stalls would restock after leaving, allowing infinite money.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed an issue when changing appearance using the closet and saving.[/p]
 • [p]General polishing and fixes for Laurel’s Inn.[/p]

[p]Thanks for your continued patience and support — and stay tuned for the exciting new content coming in Act 2! 🌙[/p]

 • [p]Bug Fix: Fixed a glitch when loading save files involving auto-save slots.[/p]
 • [p]Bug Fix: Removed a legacy setting that could disable toggling the item wheel and cause game-breaking issues.[/p]
 • [p]Bug Fix: When players reach the required reputation, the display now correctly shows completion instead of a broken indicator.[/p]
 • [p]Improvement: Adjusted the volume of several sound effects to make them softer on the ears. 🔉[/p]
 • [p]Improvement: Updated the map UI so players can view each character’s information more easily with a controller. 🎮[/p]
 • [p]UI Fix: In the main menu, gamepad icons no longer overlap with the game mode titles.[/p]
[p]Wishing everyone a scary and fun holiday! 🕯✨[/p]

Patch 0.76: Hotfix Controller Bug

[p]Hi everyone,[/p][p][/p][p]This is a quick patch to fix a critical controller bug where the quick item wheel could appear when pressing the cancel button in any situation, causing the game to get stuck.[/p][p][/p][p]The patch also fixes an issue where, if you load an old save file from before the update, the event where Ellie visits to teach you Inquiry would not trigger correctly.[/p][p][/p][p]Very sorry about the bugs![/p]

Magic Inn Patch 0.759: Added Manual Save and New Inquiry Information

[p]Hello everyone,[/p][p]It’s been a while since our last update — my apologies! I’ve been working on a major patch that includes several of the most requested features from your feedback.[/p][p]I’ve also completed the design for Act 2, and will begin implementing it right away. I’ll share more details about what’s coming in Act 2 soon.[/p][p]Now, let’s take a look at what’s new![/p]

Manual Save
[p]Previously, you could only save by sleeping. Now, you can manually save from the main menu almost anytime, with a few exceptions:[/p]
 1. [p]You can’t save during business hours when the inn is open.[/p]
 2. [p]Manual save is temporarily disabled when someone needs to talk to you — it’ll re-enable afterward.[/p]
[p]I know this still has some limitations, but this is currently the most flexible save system I can provide.[/p]

Save Slots
[p]Previously, the game created a new save file every time you saved. As progress continued, this became messy to manage — especially for players sharing the same computer.[/p][p]Now, the save system includes:[/p]
 • [p]3 rotating auto-save slots (the game will rotate between them automatically when you sleep)[/p]
 • [p]Unlimited manual save slots, which you can freely manage.[/p]
[p][/p]

Inquiry and Information System
[p]You can now use the Inquiry card (taught by Ellie) to learn information about any NPC in the game.[/p][p][/p][p]Once you gain information, you’ll discover:[/p]
 • [p]The NPC’s favorite dishes[/p]
 • [p]Favorite gifts[/p]
 • [p]Personality traits (to be implemented later)[/p]
 • [p]Their home and workplace locations — these will be revealed on the map.[/p]
[p][/p][p]You can check this information on the map, and even sell your findings back to Ellie at the True North for extra cash.[/p][p][/p]

Dialogue Choice UI
[p][/p][p]Previously, dialogue choices were displayed as cards, which made long sentences difficult to read.
The new dialogue choice UI improves readability and clarity, making longer options easier to follow.[/p]

Difficulty Selection at the End of Act 1
[p](Minor spoilers ahead if you haven’t finished Act 1!)[/p][p][/p][p]Players have reacted very differently to the outcome of Act 1. To reflect this, you’ll now find three choices at the end of Act 1, leading to different starting points for Act 2 — effectively serving as difficulty options.[/p]

Item Wheel Control Improvement
[p][/p][p]Selecting items from the item wheel, especially on controllers, used to feel unintuitive. This system has been improved — it should now be much easier to navigate and select items.[/p]

Controller Fixes
[p]There are many controller-related fixes and improvements throughout the game. Controller gameplay should now feel smoother and more reliable overall.
I sincerely apologize for the frustrations caused by previous issues.[/p]

Bug Fixes
• [p]Added missing localizations.[/p]
 • [p]When viewing items, hide “Comfort” and “Art” fields if the item doesn’t have these properties.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed an exploit where re-entering the market multiple times would restock items within the same day.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed inn name not updating in the Reputation menu or Newspaper after moving to a new inn.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed several prefab-related benign errors.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed controller navigation issues in Orb Mode (can now pick items).[/p]
 • [p]Fixed an issue where, after loading several times, buttons in the main menu stopped responding.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed controller interaction with the Hiring Report and Loan Stall UIs.[/p]
 • [p]Fixed controller interaction with Loan UI.[/p]

Improvements
• [p]Ellie now teaches the player the Attraction topic and assigns an Inquiry task.[/p]
 • [p]NPC information is now integrated into map tiles — players can check details directly via map pop-ups.[/p]
 • [p]Added a confirmation prompt when selecting “Main Menu” or “Quit.”[/p]
 • [p]Players can now rename the inn after speaking with the Caretaker.[/p]
 • [p]Added support for bringing up the Steam Deck keyboard when tapping text fields.[/p]
 • [p]Reworked dialogue choice selection: on controller, you now hold the select button briefly to confirm a choice.[/p]
 • [p]Added an “Auto Save Successful” text when the game auto-saves.[/p]

[p]This update took quite some time, but it brings a lot of quality improvements to make Magic Inn smoother and more enjoyable.
Thank you all for your patience, encouragement, and constant feedback — you’re helping shape this game into something special![/p]
