We’ve completely redesigned how bonus words work to make it easier and more rewarding. Now, every bonus word is worth +15 points by default (excluding Plot Point events or Pirate Contracts). No more protected boxes, no more guesswork. This lays the foundation for a much bigger bonus system overhaul next patch.

We’ve reworked how Vixen’s ability triggers. Instead of destroying bonus boxes before a round (which made prediction and protection tricky), her arrow now strikes **during the writing round**. It’s smoother, cleaner, and gives players a fairer shot.

[/p][h2]Plot Point UI Upgrades[/h2][p]
- Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb now has a new sprite and panel that rises in from the side.
- Moonlit Inspiration has been visually refreshed.

[/p][h2]Rum Function Update[/h2][p]
We’ve adjusted how Rum works! Now it "rummifies" one random bonus word in your list. That word becomes trickier to use—but nets a slightly higher reward if you pull it off. This is a precursor to a full Rum system overhaul coming soon.

[/p][h2]Bot AI is Now Remote[/h2][p]
All AI bots are now hosted server-side! This:
- Reduces load on your machine
- Speeds up generation
- Shrinks the game size dramatically (see backend notes below)

This is phase 1 of a smarter, more optimized AI experience.

[h3]NEW PLOT POINT: THE FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH[/h3]

In this brand new plot point, everything plays out normally during the writing phase…
But in the voting phase? That’s where things get different.

Instead of casting your vote as usual, you'll bid your gold on the sentence you think will win.

• If your chosen sentence wins the vote, you’ll earn DOUBLE the gold you wagered.
  
• If it doesn’t… you lose your bet.
  
• Bid a little or a lot—it’s your call.
  

Whether you're a gold-hoarding goblin or a reckless risk-taker, this plot point adds a new layer of strategy to your story round.

Also, next week we plan on releasing our highly anticipated Twitch mode. So if you are a streamer and you want to have your audience interact and play the game with you then you're in luck!

[h3]NEW GAME MODE: ROUND ROBIN MODE[/h3]

Round Robin Mode is now fully launched and packed with updates based on community feedback!

What is Round Robin Mode?
In this mode, players build a shared story—one sentence at a time. Each player writes a sentence, then passes the story along to someone else. As long as the story is staying active you will continue to get the story back after at least 2 additional sentences have been added to the story.

Here’s how it works:

• You’re dropped into a story mid-flow and asked to continue it with a single sentence.
  
• Story timers range from 4 hours to 1 week—completely randomized.
  
• Once your turn ends, the story continues with a new writer.
  
• When the story ends, all contributors vote on their favorite sentences in categories like Best Sentence, Plot Twist, and Funniest Moment.
  
• Meet Clocky! Our new in-game assistant gives smart writing tips based on where you are in the story (beginning, middle, or end).
  

This mode is perfect for those who want a slower, more collaborative, and low-pressure way to play. Whether you're building tension, tossing in chaos, or closing out an epic tale—Round Robin rewards creativity at every turn.

Something sinister has entered the story...

The Mysterious Stranger is a new plot point in the Horror theme, and he’s here to test your luck.

• When he appears, you’ll be offered 3 mysterious words to use in your next sentence.
  
• 2 are safe and offer a bonus if used.
  
• 1 is cursed—choose it, and you’ll lose a chunk of your points.
  
• Use 1 or 2 of the words at your own risk. Choose wisely…

This patch includes some community-requested fixes, polish for our base characters, and a small quality-of-life feature for those of you streaming your sessions live. Here's what's new:

New Feature: Story Saver Protections
We’ve added a new Story Saver screen designed to protect sensitive info (like internal paths or usernames) during saving—especially helpful for streamers.

Fixes & Improvements
"I think therefore I am" loading screen quote now properly capitalized. Cogito has spoken.

Timer position fix: Corrected a visual issue where the timer would drift off-center. It now sits pretty, especially during those final countdown moments.

Spellchecker refinement: Reduced overcorrection on possessives (like 's). More polish is coming in future updates.

Visual Touches
Character art touchups: We updated ~80% of the base characters with refined shading and detail. Still more to go, but the core cast is looking better than ever.

Credits update: Added missing artist credits to show love where it's due.

We’ve just released a new update with several improvements to the overall gameplay experience – check out all the juicy details below:

🎨 Visual & UI Improvements:

• Adjusted medal placement for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place to now land with more size and impact. This should more clearly highlight round winners.
  
• Fixed an issue where end-of-round accolades were slow to appear during intermission.
  
• Adjusted some font color options to address slight discoloration during matches.
  
• Smoothed out the coin visuals in the resource panel on the Pirate theme.
  
• Updated the wording from “Variants” to “Editions” in the Scriptorium’s character selection screen for clarity and consistency.
  
• Fixed the end-of-match QR code to correctly link to our Steam page.
  
• Tweaked match buttons (like cannonball and rum) to visually pulse again if they’re ready and unused midway through a match.
  
• Reattached a missing leg in the Horror voting panel.
  
• Recolored the Horror theme’s intermission screen to reduce visual clutter and improve readability.
  

🔊 Audio Fixes:

• Addressed a bug where collecting coins could cause an unwanted audio pop.
  

🧙 Character & Theme Adjustments:

• Fixed the on-screen positioning of Morgana’s character art on 16:10 displays.
  
• Added new sound and visual effects to enhance Morgana’s overall presentation.
  
• Fixed an issue where slime effects from the “Cursed Manuscript” plot point would linger incorrectly if a player was still cursed during the match winner screen.
  

🗒️Miscellaneous Changes:

• Updated credits to include more testers and supporters. If we missed you, please reach out to us on Discord!
  
• Simplified the Social options on the main menu to only list the Discord button. This should provide easier community access.
