#MadeWithFusion - Demon Quest

[p]Check out our short interview with #MadeWithFusion developer Pattern Games, as we talk about Demon Quest, which recently got a cool update! #Indiedev #metroidvania #indiegame #CF25[/p][p][/p][p]Visit: https://www.patreon.com/posts/madewithfusion-145536438[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]#MadeWithFusion developer Pattern Games released Demon Quest back in May 2025. Described as a Metroidvania the game has a heavy focus on platform puzzling. As part of his on going support of the title he recently posted a update which condenses alot of the language based instruction into icon representations allowing for anyone to pick up the title and understand what to do next![/p][p][/p][p]Read on to learn about the game and we even included a little interview with Pattern Games![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Get it on Steam now!: [/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]A pure exploration and puzzle adventure on a dangerous alien world. Solve environmental challenges through logic, experimentation, and clever use of versatile tools. Sneak past enemies, plan your moves, and hunt down the 23 sacred talismans to earn your escape—or face eternal captivity.[/p][p]FEATURES[/p]
  1. [p]Exploration of linear zones: uncover secrets, solve puzzles, and overcome challenges.[/p]
  2. [p]Upgradeable weapons & versatile tools: adapt your arsenal to face enemies or outsmart puzzles.[/p]
  3. [p]Stealth-focused combat: plan carefully, strike silently, and let strategy be your greatest weapon.[/p]
  4. [p]23 hidden talismans: track them down and uncover the mysteries behind your escape.[/p]
  5. [p]Immersive atmosphere: dive into environments brought to life by meticulous level design and evocative soundscapes.[/p]
[p][/p][p]What got you started in game development?[/p][p]What got me into making games is that I can mix several of my passions into one project (especially music, which is my favorite).[/p][p]How did you find Fusion?[/p][p]I discovered Fusion (or The Games Factory at the time) pretty much by chance while walking around a shopping mall. I didn’t even know that this kind of software existed, so I didn’t hesitate to buy it.[/p][p]What inspirations drove you in the creation of Demon Quest?[/p][p]I think my inspirations come from great classics like Metroid, Zelda, and Resident Evil. With Demon Quest, I wanted to try to combine what I love about each of these games.[/p][p][/p][p]What is one thing you love about Fusion?[/p][p]What I’ve always loved about Fusion is how easy and fast it is to bring ideas to life. Since coding isn’t really my favorite, it’s the perfect software for me.[/p][p]What is one thing you would change about Fusion?[/p][p]What I’d like to see in Fusion is a simpler way to work with sound (a mixing table and built-in effects would be awesome). It’s also a shame there’s no console export. Maybe in Fusion 3? ;) (Author here, I let him know that we do infact have a console export)[/p][p]What will you work on next?[/p][p]For now, I don’t really know yet. Demon Quest has already taken me a lot of time (5 years), and it’s not finished yet. So maybe a smaller project with an original concept next.[/p][p][/p][p]Get it on Steam now!: [/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]Developed and Published by: Pattern Games[/p]

Deep customization, branching paths, and tons of unlockables offer endless replayability![/p][p][/p][p]The best part of the game is the deep level of customization you do on the fly during combat making sure you pick the right upgrades to fit your intended playstyle and defeat the seemingly endless enemies thrown at you, to say nothing of the difficult bosses you face as well. To give you a taste of the game in the video above I played through the tutorial mode up to the first boss where I jussssttt couldn't defeat em![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][h3]What's New in the Sequel?[/h3]

    • [p]Weapon Mastery: Each pilot has masterful command over their starting weapon, giving them a unique weapon variant no other pilot has access to.[/p]
    • [p]Pilot Skills: Pilots start with a unique ability, not tied to any equipment slots or weapons, giving them a flair all their own.[/p]
    • [p]Weapon Enhancements: Every weapon has 4 unique upgrades to choose from to further specialize as you play.[/p]
    • [p]Augments: Unlock and equip up to 6 ability modifiers before you start your run. Will you cover your weaknesses or lean into your strengths.[/p]
    • [p]Utilities: Discover common, uncommon, and rare upgrades that you can stack infinitely to create the perfect build. Make trades with special characters to refine your builds like never before.[/p]
  • [p]Refined Control: Every ship comes equipped with an active dodge ability for getting out of the most dangerous situations. Use the new "Air Brake" to make micro-adjustments to positioning when the bullets start flying. And 360-degree analog movement brings Gunlocked out of the retro era and firmly into the present.[/p]
  • [p]Branching Paths: Periodically choose a warp gate and seamlessly jump to your chosen destination without ever pausing the gameplay. Different zones offer unique battles and rewards. Every run offers new choices![/p]
  • [p]Modular Difficulty: Activate any number of difficulty modifiers until you find the sweet spot for your mood.[/p]
  • [p]Multiple Game Modes: Get the full RPG experience in Mission Mode, or go crazy in short bursts with Turbo[/p]

[p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Being a indie developer can be fraught with difficult challanges, none of which are any less important then the need to promote and get exposure for ones game. In this regard he is reaching out to the gaming public in last ditch effort to raise enough money in december to continue. As of Dec 7th, he has met 10% of his goal of 2000 units! If you enjoy excellent action mixed with outstanding strategic elements please take advantage of the 40% off sale and check out Gunlocked 2![/p][p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink][/p][p]It would also be super helpful if you would all be willing to amplify his posts at the social media sites shown below![/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p]

Fusion3 Blog - Resilient Architecture

[p]A new Fusion3 Blog entry is live! https://www.patreon.com/posts/fusion3-blog-141766803[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Today’s blog post is about an architectural change we made during Fusion 3’s development.  It is a bit more technical and "under-the-hood" than usual, but we thought the topic might be interesting for our readers. [/p][p]In essence, it is about certain assumptions we had during development that turned out to be detrimental to the stability and future development of Fusion 3 and how we are solving it. [/p]
