Toribash 5.51

Toribash 5.51 is now available for all platforms!
This update features an advanced gui for replay viewing and a lot of bug fixes and QoL improvements.

What's new:
  • Advanced replay GUI (default hotkey is Tab)



    • Progress bar with camera keyframe marks
    • Replay speed slider
    Advanced replay gui would only work when replay has been cached


  • Replay cache updates
    • When replay speed option is set to "Enabled" in settings, replays will always load with cache by default
    • Cached replay loading should be a little bit quicker due to backend optimizations



  • Other replay updates
    • You can now view next/previous replay using CTRL + ] / CTRL + [ hotkeys while in any folder
    • Replay playback speed now affects flame particles speed
    • Auto focus on replay name input when saving replay



  • Miscellaneous fixes and updates
    • Better ghost fading with short ghosts
    • Realtimeghost data is now only sent when the room has it enabled
    • Added borderless fullscreen mode for Windows (can be enabled in settings)
    • Fixed a possible crash in macOS version on new game alert when game client is minimized
    • 3D items are now displayed properly when they're behind a translusent environment object
    • Fixed a bug that was greatly affecting performance with flame particles disabled
    • Added flame forge to Store and merged textures section into advanced section
    • Auto reload news images after they've been downloaded
    • Prevent Tori and Uke spawning inside each other when setting all zeroes for custom player position in gamerules
    • "Start new game" toggle in game rules is now stored between game sessions
    • Fixed a bug that was writing multiple instances of a move when beating Uke in Challenge Uke tutorial
    • Fixed a bug that was disabling Uke's ghost in some tutorials
    • Lua open_url() now only accepts Toribash links to prevent phishing
    • Shaders that modify text colors no longer affect item colors
    • Shaders now properly modify chat colors when in Multiplayer



  • Server updates
    • Breakable grabs should no longer cause glitches
    • Customizable ghosts should no longer get stuck in previous mode when loading a new mod
    • Your own messages in chat are shown in a different color to stand out better
    • Win triggers should now work correctly
    • Win points should now work correctly
    • Players in auto tournament rooms should no longer get spectated before lockdown is enabled

Toribash 5.5.1 Beta 1

Hi, a public beta of Toribash 5.5.1 is now available on Steam for all platforms.
To try it out, go to Toribash properties from your Steam Library, open Betas tab and switch to "beta" branch.

Toribash 5.5.1 contains a number of improvements for replay viewing, bug fixes and some other QoL changes.

Floor is Lava 2



[h2]Welcome to another ES replay-making event![/h2]
This time you will be tasked with traversing the environment and reaching Uke.

Map Previews:


Go to the News tab in the game client and choose Floor is Lava 2 event and then press the "Participate" button on bottom right. Once you reach the red zone, press the "Submit" button on the bottom of your screen to upload your replay for Event Squad's review. The game will automatically mark the advanced task as complete if the blue checkpoint is reached. In addition to that, you can click "Load Custom Replay" in the bottom right to upload pre-existing replays (provided they're on the same mod as the event).
Keep in mind that we will only judge the first replay you upload that way, and if you want to change your entry to a different replay, you need to upload and post it in the event thread on forums.

Blood Update v2

Hi, February update is now available!



New in this build:
  • Blood particles decay and turn into splats quicker when colliding with floor
  • Increased max blood particle count to 512
  • Increased blood particle max lifespan to 200 frames
  • Added blood amount control in graphics settings (manual command is /opt blood 0|1|2)
  • Disabling blood display now also disables physics calculation for them which should vastly improve performance on low end PCs
  • Fixed hair related crash on raytrace graphics with sharp shadow shaders



We will also be adding increased login rewards and a limited time special quest tomorrow to compensate for this week's server downtime - don't miss out on getting some extra stuff!
