Major Update - Steam Endless Replayability Festival

Hello esteemed Khans, this is cevozby, the developer of the game.

I'm honored to announce a major update and our participation in Steam's Infinite Replayability festival. Here's what's in this update:

Contract System:
 • Leaders you have will now have contracts, and any leader whose contract is not renewed will be removed from your roster.
 • When the contract time comes, your leader's salary will be redetermined according to their current abilities.
 • You can extend the contract of your leaders up to 5 years (the monthly salary will increase accordingly).
 • Leaders will retire when they turn 40 years old.
 • If your clan does not have enough budget, you may not be able to renew the leader's contract.
 • You can automatically renew the contracts of the leaders whose contracts are about to expire with the “Auto Renew” button from the leaderboard, if it exceeds the clan's budget, the contracts of the remaining leaders from that leader will not be renewed.

Injury System:
 • Your leaders are now vulnerable to injury, so you need to play carefully.
 • If you push too hard in training, you increase the risk of your leader getting injured.
 • A leader who both drills and fights is more likely to get injured.
 • Depending on age and characteristics, the chance of injury may vary.
 • If you play a slightly injured leader in a match, the chance of injury increases.

Training System:
 • The training now gives you 3 options, Low/Normal/High, which you can choose to influence the development of the leaders.

Popup System:
 • Since some of the features are not clear what they do, we have introduced a popup system, now you will be able to find out what the features do.

Battle Arena:
 • Our battle arena has changed, now we have an arena more worthy of your khan's army. We will continue to improve this arena.

Error Solution:
 • A new leader could be hired even though his clan's budget was not enough, this bug has been fixed.
 • Pressing the spacebar would trigger the “Continue” button, but sometimes it would cause an error.
 • Leaders were not aging as the year progressed.
 • Text was distorted when selecting formations on the Tactics screen.
 • Text was not appearing on the General panel in the description section of the drill maneuver.
 • Fixed an error in music settings for the game.
 • Language option was not staying selected.
 • Fixed the problem of getting a leader twice when we say get a leader in the Scout section

Upcoming Major Update

Greetings, mighty Khans! It's Omer here. I’ve taken over our weekly update because my brother is super busy with a big new update for our game.

Here’s the news! You know we talked about a new “contract system” last week? It’s ready now, but it’s got lots of bugs. We’ve fixed most of them, but we still need to test them more.

Now, let’s talk about some cool new stuff we’re adding to the game.
Training System Tweak:
We're making some tweaks to the training system to give you more control over the development of your leaders. You'll be able to set your leaders' training speed to low, normal, or high. But watch out—ramping up the pace comes with its own set of risks, which I'll get into in a sec.

Injury Mechanic:

What's the fun in using the same leader week after week without consequences? In our next update, leaders can get injured. If they get really hurt, they can’t train or play in matches.

So, think carefully before you keep playing your star leader match after match.
How to Avoid Injuries:
Just like in real life, there are various factors that can lead to injuries in our game:
 • Training: Pushing your leaders too hard in training can lead to amazing improvements or... painful injuries.
 • Battling: Sure, it's tempting to use your top leader in every fight, but battles come with injury risks, especially if your leader loses.
 • Aging: Just like in real life, getting older means even everyday activities can lead to injuries. (I feel this one personally!)
 • Physical Stats: Not all leaders are created equal. Some are just tough as nails and can take a beating. If your leader's physical stats aren't up to snuff, consider focusing their training on physical stats.
 • Existing Injuries: There's a bit of irony here, but sometimes you roll the dice and play a leader who's not fully healed. They might turn the tide or end up sidelining themselves for good.

With these updates, we're adding a new layer of strategy to Hakan's War Manager. Plus, we're polishing up some quality-of-life improvements too. Stay tuned!

Until next time,

Contract System

Hello respectful Khans, I am Cevozby, the developer of the game.

Developments for HWM continue continuously, this week we will talk about the contract system for leaders.

Contract System:

With the contract system, you will have the leaders for a certain period of time. When you start the game, all leaders will have a 1-year contract, and at the end of the 1 year, you must sign a contract with the leader you want or new leaders. Otherwise, the leader will be removed from your team.

Mechanics
Duration mechanics:
We use C#'s DateTime system for the calendar system in our game. When the leader is first formed, the start date of the contract matches the date when it was created, and the end date is set to be 12 months later. When you renew the contract, the expiry period of the contract is extended by the number of years you want (maximum 5 years) from the date of renewal.
Salary mechanics:
The leader's salary is redetermined according to his level after the contract ends. If his level rises, he may ask for more salary; if he is at the same level, he may ask for a salary close to the previous one; if his level decreases (yes, this can happen), he will be paid less salary.

Additionally, the year of the contract will also affect the salary. The longer you extend the year, the more the leader's salary can increase (up to a maximum of 2 times).

So be careful, if the clan does not have enough salary budget, you may not be able to extend the contract.

Note: This gif was taken during the development phase, it will be better when it is presented to you.
