Along with your friend Lucia, you’ll take the role of Haley as the pair navigate the darkest parts of Haley’s subconscious.

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the centenary coverage of VoidBound's weekly journey through its development cycle. Lets open up with some neat artistic updates.

Our artist is nearly finished with the robot defeat scene, hinting at a slew of stunning new renders depicting Caly's struggles after suffering a shattering defeat against the ultimate metallic nemesis. Of-course, you can avoid this lewd fate of hers by simply taking down the boss but.. would you? 😈

From an anteater scavenger to an ancient droid, Tripteen's bustling little village is slowly coming alive! New character renders are now in place showcasing the eclectic denizens you'll encounter once Caly's boots hit the ground. Vibrant personalities? CHECK. Weird quest requests? CHECK. Horny man skulking around Caly? Uhh.. CHECK? πŸ˜•

Switching perspectives- our story weavers have also started the process of sectioning out the new dungeon floors. The idea is to weave the story progress in such a way that it flows smoothly in tandem with each zone segment the player traverses, ensuring a thrilling and balanced immersive experience. After-all, where is the fun in backtracking constantly?

Additionally, we're now brainstorming ideas for quirky, engaging findables ⛏️ and side quest items to dot Tripteen's new maps. While hunting her quarry is going to be a priority for Caly, occasionally, she might trip on some interestingly mundane items as well! Maybe a holographic recipe for the galaxy's finest space-shrimps? Or uncover a hidden arcade room with retro alien mini-games? Perhaps not all that but, you get the picture - delightful distractions galore!

Finally, things are getting steamy in the coding bay. We've started work implementing some of the new H-Scenes content for Tripteen, ensuring Caly's adventures on the crimson planet have their fair share of spicy encounters. Keep your keen eyes peeled for all of them, though beware, there might be one or two trap πŸͺ€ events mixed in as well!

Hi everyone,

Your weekly dose of VoidBound progress is here! Let's plug into the update and see what's been sizzling on the development grid.

This week our artist designed an array of fearsome Battlers that will rove the halls of the Tripteen dungeon! These menacing new sprites are also equipped with unique skills that will wreak havoc on the battlefield if Caly decides to cross blades and bullets with them. Be warned, spacefarers, even the seemingly harmless might pack a surprising punch!

Additionally, sketch work has also begun revising certain facets of the final showdown. Specifically, a re-imagined event is being concepted in the event Caly loses the climactic fight to the dungeon's final boss. Details are still a bit sparse at the moment but, stay tuned for updates as more develops in the coming few weeks.

Meanwhile, our wordsmiths have been delving deeper into the lives of the Tripteen villagers. While only a few crossed paths with Caly in the original, each one of them had their own personal arcs and interesting history. Question is though: Do we stick with their established pasts, or do we expand and breathe new life into their narratives?

Reason being the planned additions of side quests in the revamped version of Tripteen. A lot of these will originate as requests from the native populace, and will have the player delve into the dark recesses of the underground dungeon. To that effect, we want to make sure that the original lore and the planned new progression text flows smoothly in tandem.

Finally, our coders have started laying the foundation work for the upcoming update. With the maps finalized, story fundamentals concepted and the baddies now crafted, we have all the elements necessary to kickstart the initial building process, including transferring over the original enemy scripting and fine tuning it further.

Calling all VoidBound voyagers!

We're charting a course towards exciting new features launching throughout early 2024.
We proudly present our roadmap for the months of January-March, leading up to a special tease at the Hentai Expo 2024!

Without further ado, lets start off with:-

  • [h3]Full Render: The Dungeon Awaits πŸ“[/h3]

In January, we have dedicated most of our time on completely re-imagining Tripteen. As the first main dungeon players will encounter, we felt that Tripteen sorely needed a makeover to match the quality of the newly revamped intro.

Most notably, we updated the graphical visual of the dungeon to be on par with the most recent areas we developed. We showcased the new vision of one of the maps in our Progress Report #97, as well as another map above.

With new stealth and light manipulation mechanics, players will be able to switch various lights on and off to reveal secret areas or hidden enemies lurking in the dark, and strategically use the light mechanics to their advantage.

  • Combat Clarity: Health Bars Unveiled πŸ“Š (Work In Progress)

We are excited to announce two new additions to the combat system! Firstly, we added HP Bars for the enemies, to aid players in making efficient decisions based on the HP bar displayed next to each sprite.

The second addition is an info panel at the bottom of the screen that can be toggled on and off with a press of a button. This interface will showcase more detail than the HP bars, such as the numerical values of the enemies' current HP and total HP, to help players strategically plan their next move.

  • Weaponry Revamp: Mod Mania βš™οΈ

We have also been rethinking the weapon modifications to make the the existing weapon modding system more enjoyable and ultimately benefit the players in a meaningful way.

For instance, if you want to turn a single target attack into an area of effect attack, no problem! Want to turn a long range single shot into a piercing shot, go ahead! πŸ‘Ύ πŸ”«

As the weapon modding is still in the concepting phase, we hope to reveal more information on this in the future progress reports!

  • [h3]Penning Passion: H-Scene Symphony ✍️[/h3]

February will be the month where we heat things up with steamy H content.

To ensure that all our scenes are up to the same quality as our recent ones, we are going to re-render and also re-imagine the encounters Caly had in the Tripteen dungeon. Don't fret as nothing will be cut - the old scenes will be accessible in the gallery while the new rendered versions will be placed in the dungeon alongside some brand NEW scenes.

We have a new artist on board! Our new artist will help with the lineart and sketching phase, working together with Doppel to bless VoidBound with more lewd art at a faster pace!

In March, we are aiming to release an update that will feature the entire first planet re-imagined. We are working hard in hopes that we can deliver the update with ample time for testing and bug fixing.

If time allows, we may add an additional scene to the update as well.

*Connection Established*

It's time again to bring you up to lightspeed with the latest update from the development team. Let's dive in.

Our artist has been hard at work transforming the ambience of Tripteen's dungeons, including brand-new dungeon maps, background textures, and addition of non-interactive objects. With a keen attention to detail and environmental storytelling, we are aiming to create vibrant zones rich in lore that would suit a facility inhabited by beings of mysterious origins.

And of course, no dungeon adventure is complete without a bestiary of captivating foes. To that effect, that we've added a line up of new battler sprites. We'll be unveiling some of them in a special roadmap article dropping in the next few days so be sure to keep an eye out!

Our writer on the other hand, has been working to expand the dialogue options of the Villagers, allowing them to react to Caly's journey. For instance, once Caly has gained the trust of the villagers by completing various tasks, some of the villagers may spill valuable information, offer to trade, or provide services. Key choices in dialogue are going to have consequences throughout the rest of the story as development continues.

Lastly, our coding wizards report new additional UI elements! Presenting:

HP Bars & Enemy Information Windows:

You can now track of your enemies' health via HP Bars on the side and at the bottom information panel, gauging the effectiveness of your attacks and strategically planning your next move. Over the course of development, we plan to expand the UI to accurately reflect the information that is being displayed in real-time, such as status effects.
