v0.9 Update - Gadgets for Sandy Shallows!
Operation Octo is at 2000 wishlists now, thanks to Creeps20's video essay on the game!
(I really thought the game wouldn't even sell 10 copies in the past - Thank you all for believing in this project!)
I've got a big round of content upgrades for the demo this time - You can play around with most of them right away :)
If you encounter any bugs while playing, please report them to me on Discord!
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Gadgets are a brand new feature that lets you shift the tides of battles!
They act like Dr. Odin's abilities that can be activated for free, but have a cooldown between uses:
Spiky Urchin

Red Herring

Imitation Crab

Lionfish
Introducing... Gadgets!
Gadgets are a brand new feature that lets you shift the tides of battles!
They act like Dr. Odin's abilities that can be activated for free, but have a cooldown between uses:
Spiky Urchin
- Moves towards nearby skeletons and fights them with spikes
- Unlocked after Level 1-2!
- A simple & hands-off tank that holds off early enemies
Red Herring
- Forces nearby skeletons to walk towards and attack it
- Unlocked after Level 1-4
- Perfect for kiting skeletons to where you want 'em, and even pulling skeleton off of turrets they've locked on
Imitation Crab
- Temporarily turns into the first turret on your conveyor(i.e. Sushi Belt)
- Becomes available in the shop after Level 1-6, to be bought for 10 Coins
- Good for heavy decks - Gets value out of that one expensive turret that's been stuck in your hand
Lionfish
- Shoots out 5 spikes to be distributed between all skeletons in an area
- Unlocked after Level 1-9
- An insta that wrecks a skeleton if it's singled out, but accomplishes little if dropped onto a larger group of skeletons

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Other Noteable Changes
Balance Changes
- Crâne Exalté (1st World Boss)'s Orb damage to turrets increased by 50% (Damage to Odin remains unchanged)
- Crâne Exalté's "Ring Around" move maximum reach slightly increased
- Slightly reduced Blobfish's spawn chance during Crâne Exalté's 3rd phase
- The 1st Boss had been over-nerfed over the past 2 years. I want the Boss's mass AoE attacks to become bigger threats to turrets. This was a boss fight where the player became more-or-less completely safe once a stable field of turrets had been established - This Orb damage buff will allow the Boss to frequently disrupt your existing turret formation, prompting the player to more actively engage with the ever-shifting tides, even later on into the Boss fight.
Misc Changes
- Reversed camera zoom controls on controllers
- Only applicable to contents beyond the demo;
This is for a consistency where the right-side buttons are for initiating actions (Zooming Out / Selecting), while the left-side buttons are for undoing actions (Zooming In / Cancelling)
- Only applicable to contents beyond the demo;
- Removed Metal Detector from the shop (You now automatically unlock Coin-Drops when you unlock the shop)
- This is to avoid cluttering the shop after the addition of Imitation Crab;
You will be refunded Metal Detector's purchase cost if you've already bought it
- This is to avoid cluttering the shop after the addition of Imitation Crab;
- Added a dev console command /ToggleRegen, which lets you turn off Odin's HP regen for this play session
- Made for the try-hards who want to do permanent-damage runs ;)
- Increased enemy spawns in Level 1-5 (Bumper Maze)
