Early Access vs 1.0: A Complete Breakdown

[p]Hey everyone! [/p][p][/p][p]Since launching in Early Access last September, IT HAS MY FACE has evolved significantly. With version 1.0 officially releasing tomorrow morning at 10 am (EST), we wanted to give you a clear breakdown of everything that’s changed, so you know exactly what to expect when diving into the final version of the game.  [/p][p]Early Access showcased the core concept and heart of IT HAS MY FACE: its eerie story chapters, mutators, core gameplay loop, challenges, and the first version of multiplayer. With the full release, we’ve completed that vision. Version 1.0 represents the game we set out to make from the beginning.  [/p][p]So… what’s new?  [/p][p] [/p][p]Multiplayer was one of the most requested features since the launch of our demo. As soon as players discovered the core concept, many immediately saw its multiplayer potential, and they were right! [/p][p]During Early Access, multiplayer was limited to a 1v1 experience. For 1.0, after hearing everyone's feedback, we’ve expanded it. [/p][p][/p]
What’s New:
• [p]Up to 8 players per match [/p]
  • [p]Two brand‑new multiplayer modes: Free For All and Team Deathmatch [/p]
  • [p]Public matchmaking (quick play): Host or join public multiplayer matches, jump into random matches anytime, or connect to a specific lobby by being friends with the host. [/p]
  • [p]Mutators in multiplayer: a total of 18 mutators (new and old) have been added to enhance your multiplayer experience [/p]
  • [p]More customizable match settings: adjust round length (or disable timers entirely), and control mutator frequency. [/p]
  • [p]Multiplayer badges:  earn points by winning rounds to level up your badge, which other players can see. [/p]
  • [p]Spectator Mode: After you are eliminated, you can freely spectate or follow the perspective of other players.[/p]
Multiplayer Modes:
• [p]Free For All : Everyone for themselves. Every other player looks identical to you. Your goal? Be the last surviving clone. This mode is chaotic, tense, and surprisingly strategic. [/p]
  • [p]Team Deathmatch : Work together. Teams are fully customizable: make them symmetrical or asymmetrical (you can even select “no team” and fight solo against other teams). Coordination, deception, and identity confusion take on a whole new meaning when you’re fighting alongside your clones. [/p]
[p] [/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p][p]Since early access, we've been overwhelmed with how invested players are in the story. From Agent G, to the monsters, to NPC lives and theories, it’s been incredible watching the community interact with this world. [/p][p][/p]
What’s New:
• [p]Two brand‑new story chapters These chapters conclude the narrative and provide closure, revealing a darker, more doomed side of the world, with three different endings shaped by your choices.
     [/p]
  • [p]A final boss fight For 1.0, we added a climactic "boss" encounter that puts everything you’ve learned to the test. We believe this is the ultimate narrative and gameplay payoff. [/p]
[p] [/p][p][/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p][p]Mutators are a core pillar of IT HAS MY FACE. They ensure that every round feels unpredictable and tense. [/p][p]A lot of you asked if we would be adding more, and the answer is yes. [/p][p][/p]
What’s New:
• [p]Additional mutators designed to increase tension and fear [/p]
  • [p]JammedWeapons: Ranged weapons may jam instead of firing. [/p]
  • [p]FoggyMirror: The mirror gets foggier the longer it stays raised. [/p]
  • [p]HeartBomb: A bar builds up when the player doesn’t move. When the bar is filled, the player explodes. [/p]
  • [p]BombTraps: Laser traps are placed in doors between sections that drop bombs when triggered. [/p]
  • [p]UnstableTech: A bar builds up over time. When it is filled, player teleports to a random position on the map. [/p]
  • [p]SlowDraw: It takes longer to raise the weapons. [/p]
  • [p]FastWalkers: Everyone except the clone and the player move faster. [/p]
  • [p]BlackAndWhite: A black and white filter is applied to the world. [/p]
  • [p]WinterCold: Burn barrels are spawned around. Player will get cold and slow down if they don't heat themselves with barrels. [/p]
  • [p]EverythingIllegal: Every weapon is now illegal. [/p]
  • [p]SerialKiller: You must kill someone to reset to urge. If urge is filled, you’re stuck aiming your weapon. [/p]
  • [p]Built around how players actually interacted with the game during Early Access [/p]
  • [p]A stronger emphasis on uncertainty, panic, and adaptation [/p]
[p]Each round should now feel even more distinct, unsettling, and dangerous. [/p][p] [/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p][p]Monsters play a huge role in both the horror and the narrative, so expanding them for 1.0 was essential. [/p][p][/p]
What’s New:
• [p]3 new monstrous behaviours [/p]
  • [p]Tentacle‑based attacks, zombie-like behavior, and more [/p]
  • [p]Experience the apocalypse first hand with the beginning of the Awakening [/p]
  • [p]Greater unpredictability and escalation during encounters [/p]
[p] [/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p][p]To fully bring this dystopian world to life, we’ve expanded the environments you’ll explore. [/p][p][/p]
What’s New:
• [p]3 new sections, including a food court, an infirmary, and additional locations that deepen the game’s environmental storytelling [/p]
  • [p]Props and layouts designed to heighten unease and immersion [/p]
  • [p]4 of our existing maps have been reworked with added detail to create a more immersive atmosphere. [/p]
[p] [/p][p] [/p][carousel][/carousel][p][/p][p]This 1.0 release wouldn’t exist without the community. Your feedback throughout Early Access helped shape the game at every level.  [/p][p]Thank you for being part of this journey, we’re excited for you to finally experience IT HAS MY FACE as a finished game. [/p][p][/p][p]See you tomorrow at 10 am (EST), [/p][p]The IT HAS MY FACE team [/p]

Kill your clone in It Has My Face with the expanded 1.0 release in April

It Has My Face is a unique idea that sort of blends Hitman with hide and seek, as you try to hunt down and kill your clone before they get you.

It Has My Face, my favourite sci-fi assassination sim about being stalked by a clone of yourself, has a 1.0 release date

Roguelite clone-stabber (and upsettingly effective paranoia generator) It Has My Face is skulking out of early access this month, a Steam news update confirming its 1.0 release for April 3rd 2026. Hooray, and also, arrrrrrgh. I’ve been following IHMF since its impressive first demo under the name DoubleWe, and its short, highly-strung bursts of deduction and one-hit-kill violence are as cleverly staged as they are stressful.
