The demo translated into Japanese for Tokyo Game Show 2024!

The Fix-A-Bug team is honored that The Crazy Hyper-Dungeon Chronicles has been selected for the "Selected Indie 80" showcase at the Tokyo Game Show 2024.

As a gesture of gratitude, we have translated the demo currently available on Steam into Japanese so that all players in Japan can experience the game in their language and provide us with their valuable feedback. However, we would like to point out that there may be some imperfections in the translation due to the limited time we had to complete the work.

Nevertheless, we assure you that the final version of the game will undergo thorough revision and rewriting to ensure the highest quality and accuracy of the texts.

We can finally reveal it: we are thrilled to announce that our game, The Crazy Hyper-Dungeon Chronicles, has been selected to participate in the "Selected Indie 80" at the Tokyo Game Show 2024!

But what does this mean exactly?

"Selected Indie 80" is the exclusive showcase dedicated to independent productions at the Tokyo Game Show, one of the world's most important gaming events. As the name suggests, only 80 titles are selected from hundreds of entries from all over the globe. This recognition celebrates the innovation, creativity, and potential demonstrated by some of the most promising indie products.

Being part of the "Selected Indie 80" gives us the opportunity to introduce our game to an even wider audience and gain significant visibility in Japan and, by extension, the rest of the world. Moreover, participating in the event provides us with the exceptional chance to connect with thousands of developers, journalists, and enthusiasts in the industry. It is a great honor and a profound satisfaction after so much hard work and dedication.

Our game will be showcased from September 26th to 29th in a dedicated area of the expo, generously provided by the organizers. Here, visitors will be able to try out a demo with the latest updates and discover many details about our game.

An important update to our Demo!

In the months following the last demo, we have continued to develop the game. Currently, we have completed almost half of the total levels and have reached level 24. In addition to the new levels, the game has been improved both in terms of gameplay and aesthetics.

Therefore, we have decided to release a new demo that includes many of these new features, except for the new levels. The demo, in fact, stops exactly as before, at level 16. Unfortunately, we also had to reset all saves, but that's how things go with a demo!

Below is a summary of the main new features you will find in the new version:
  • Completely revamped Powers: almost all have been renamed, the order of obtaining some has been changed, and the bonuses and active duration times have been modified.
  • Revised the cooldown management of Powers: now they are immediately available after their effect ends or immediately after instant use.
  • Enhanced various dungeon environments: the biomes are now enriched (without overdoing it and in a distributed manner) with various graphic details, such as puddles on the ground, sewer bars, cracks in the walls, blood streaks, etc.
  • Modified the critical hit percentage management (now increases by 1 at a time, previously increased by 5 at a time).
  • Modified and shortened the dialogues for the Destroyer profile (less talk and more action!).
  • Introduced some variations for certain enemies that become more aggressive as the levels progress.
  • The crafting system now allows you to produce multiple units of the same product at once.
  • Fixed a myriad of minor bugs.

The Crazy Hyper-Dungeon Chronicles - Latest modifications

Significant changes have been made since the Steam Demo release (with more to follow).

Content:
- Added 6 new levels (we're now at 21 levels done over 50 totals)

Gameplay:
- Implemented a defense system against magical attacks (which deal damage) in combat: you can dodge them by pressing at the right moment.



- Through special items or by drinking a particular potion, the hero can see the area visually controlled by enemies.



- Added a defense feature for some enemies who might retaliate by attacking the hero immediately if the player presses at the wrong moment.



- The crafting system now allows making multiple units of the same product at once.



- Changed the management of power cooldowns: they are immediately available after their effect ends (e.g., Focus) or after they have been used instantaneously (e.g., Preemptive Strike).

Cosmetics:
- Enhanced various dungeon levels: biomes are now (moderately and evenly) adorned with various graphical embellishments, from puddles on the ground to sewer bars, from cracks on the walls to bloodstains, etc., as in classic dungeon crawlers.

- Messages from specific events now appear in the lower left corner without invading the gameplay area.




Future (upcoming):
- Changes to the rage accumulation system.
- Introduction of some variants for certain enemies to become more aggressive as levels increase.
- Introduction of new enemy attack and defense special moves.
- Removal of the Renegade (Adventurer) profile from the game (the fact that it has some features of other game profiles makes it interesting on paper but not in practice).
