32 Years of Freedom

On August 24, 1991, Ukraine finally obtained its independence from the Soviet Empire. For hundreds of years, many generations have been fighting for this day. Today, we celebrate the 32nd anniversary, and coincidentally, this day also marks a year and a half since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Millions of people have been struggling during this time. Many lost their homes, and some lost their lives. While the global community is focused on finishing the war, people around the globe are starting to get distracted with other things. Everyday news about celebrities, technology, business, etc., is replacing the horrors of the war that is still going on. Everyone is tired, but you can’t tune out genocide and pretend nothing is happening.

We highly encourage you to support volunteers providing help to people in need in Ukraine. You can choose your local organization if you know that it is trustworthy, or donate to big reputable foundations like U24, Come Back Alive or Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation.
You can also join an ongoing fundraiser held by the Ukrainian Games Festival, which we’re a part of!
