With its picturesque location along the Iria River, Convallaria Town's privileged geographic setting facilitated its rapid transformation from a humble rest stop for merchant caravans to a bustling town, flourishing in both commerce and culture. Today, Convallaria Town is a shining example of leadership in quality living, harmonizing natural landscapes with a thriving commercial pulse, creating an all-encompassing ideal life.

Stretching across the entirety of Convallaria Town, this street, owing to the town's unique geographical position, attracts traders from all corners of the world, allowing one to revel in the bustle without ever leaving the town. Traverse the main street to find the Fountain Plaza, a perfect spot for leisure and entertainment.

Situated in the southern part of Convallaria Town and named after the abundance of Convallaria flowers, this is the town's backyard, infused with the natural essence. Easily reached by foot, the hill offers a panoramic view of the entire town, providing a serene place to bid farewell to traveling friends and family.

Ranked as the top inn in Convallaria Town, this establishment is dedicated to creating a comprehensive platform that combines gastronomy, fine wines, music, and commerce. Here, not only can you indulge in hearty libations, but you can also enjoy captivating performances by wandering songstresses. Additionally, exquisite goods brought by traveling merchants are available for free trade.

We are back with another character introduction! This time, we are going to talk about a mysterious merchant you will encounter in the early game.

Lutfi (CV: #Daisuke Namikawa) 浪川大輔

Lutfi, a young and prosperous merchant, may appear to be just that at first glance. His striking attire, refined features, eloquent speech, and poised demeanor speak to a certain opulence and sophistication. However, there's a subtle undercurrent in his conversations that hints at a hidden identity, leaving you pondering the depths of Lutfi's character.

But now, the secret is unveiled: Lutfi is none other than the second prince of the Iria Kingdom!

The second-born prince of the Kingdom of Iria whose appearance favors his mother as much as his brother resembles their father. Knowledgeable and eloquent, Lutfi is fiercely invested in finding a solution to Iria's current problems. Despite his active interest in his country's future, the lack of recognition from his father and elder brother has been a constant source of frustration, further igniting his desire to prove himself. Lutfi believes that he is the one who must guide Iria towards a brighter future, and is determined to find his own path to do so.


In battle, Lutfi emerges as a master tactician, wielding a versatile arsenal of abilities that allow you to manipulate the battlefield to your advantage. Let's delve into his unique set of skills:

- Hypnotic Attack
Lutfi's signature basic attack boasts a 30% chance to afflict the target with [Sleep], rendering them incapacitated for a full turn.


- Summon Bodyguard
Lutfi can conjure a protective shield unit to serve as his loyal bodyguard, who could also provide some extra utility on the battlefield.


- Show Goodwill
This skill enables Lutfi to gather all enemies within a 3-tile radius. Use it strategically to displace opponents from their advantageous positions, setting the stage for your team to secure easy eliminations.


- Blade of Waltz
Lutfi's masterpiece in damage-dealing. When activated, select a 2-tile area occupied by enemies. Lutfi will elegantly teleport behind them, launching a series of devastating slashes that leave your foes reeling.

Faycal (CV: #Yuuto Uemura) 上村祐翔

Faycal is a resolute youth with a shadowed history and one of the initial members of the Sword of Convallaria. As a child, Faycal witnessed the destruction of his home, an experience that left a lasting mark on his heart. Despite the support of Maitha and Rawivah, the darkness within him persisted. Faycal now holds an unwavering wariness toward outsiders, yet cherishes the life he's carved out. His pledge is to grow strong and shield his newfound family, even if it demands everything he has.


In combat, Faycal is a dependable archer, granting you an array of long-range possibilities and opens up guerrilla tactics. Now, let’s explore the dynamic set of abilities he brings to the game:


- Movement skill: Rock-climbing
Upon activation, Faycal's mobility soars, allowing him to leap across chasms, climb up to higher vantage points, and cover more ground in a single turn. Bringing him on the team introduces new strategic options for both offense and evasion.


- Alert shot skill: Safeguard the Sword of Convallaria
When activated, Faycal stands sentinel over a designated direction and area. Any intruding foes trigger automatic shots from Faycal, causing significant damage and interrupting their actions. This is a very strong defensive option to stop dangerous adversaries.


- The Cloud-piercing Arrow
Faycal's premier single-target damage skill. The Cloud-Piercing Arrow is a "Curved Shot" that deftly bypasses numerous obstacles and terrains. Combining this skill with his rock-climbing prowess transforms Faycal into a highly mobile sniper for your team.

It’s been a wonderful two months since we shared our decision to launch Sword of Convallaria on all major platforms, and we’re overwhelmed by the amazing support from the Steam community and tactical RPG lovers around the world. We went through several rounds of closed betas, sat down with Famitsu and chatted with Yasumi Matsuno, and brought a playable PC demo to Tokyo Game Show 2023.


[h2]What to expect in the next Spring[/h2]
While the feedback we've received so far has been incredibly encouraging, there is still a substantial amount of work to be done before we can bring Sword of Convallaria to a global audience. We will concentrate on enhancing gameplay mechanics, optimizing performance, and refining the overall gaming experience as we aim for a release in the upcoming spring. Here's a more detailed look of what we'll be focusing on during this extended development period:

• Enhanced PC experience: refining the user interface for PC, optimizing gameplay controls, and adding controller support, etc.
  
• Localization excellence: rectifying improper translations and completing full-game localization for all supported languages to make for an accessible and enjoyable player experience.
  
• Optimizing the live service plan: We will work on optimizing the structure for the game, which will enable us to provide a consistent flow of fresh content after the game's initial release.

A Cozy Tavern in Real Life!

The booth was designed to bring to life the cozy tavern in the heart of Convallaria. With ambient decorations, immersive activities, and barrels filled with refreshments, our exhibition had been organized to offer a glimpse into the game world and provide a welcoming oasis amidst the bustling TGS show floor.


Demo Delight

We brought the first PC demo for TGS visitors to really immerse themselves in the game world and experience the classic tactical RPG gameplay that Sword of Convallaria has to offer. We were genuinely overwhelmed by all the positive feedback right then and there, even with the occasional bugs due to it being an early demo ≖‿≖✧

As a matter of fact, many of you seemed to have resonated with the enchanting soundtracks - Hitoshi Sakimoto truly delivered!
