you'll also get a peek at new mechanics and features from later in the game, so that you can get a compact but rich preview of the full experience. [/p][p]

[/p][p]For now, here’s a quick rundown of the key changes in this new demo:

  • [p]Added a Flying Kick to the Player's punch moveset[/p]

  • [p]Secrets found in maps now used to unlock Upgrade Stations[/p]
  • [p]More video/performance options (toggles for Motion Blur, particle VFX, texture streaming)[/p]
  • [p]Updated cutscenes, which can now be skipped[/p]
  • [p]Innumerable bugfixes, tweaks and improvements[/p]

Texnoplazm is John Wick as a cyberpunk boomer shooter

Having never designed an FPS before, there's a good chance the following grand theory of combat design I'm about to propose is reeking globnonsense, but here goes: I figure you've basically got two approaches. You can either keep it simple but chunky, and use this to lure the player in right away by making them feel powerful and capable. Then, you can keep your relatively pithy verb list interesting by riffing on things like encounter and enemy design.


Then, there's the Texnoplazm method (Steam demo here) which is to slap you across the chops with a phone book of gun fu possibilities straight from the off, offer a taste of stylishness just piquant enough to convince you that mastering this toolkit seems like a fun and worthwhile idea, and let you loose. It's the "I suck at this, but I will not suck eventually, and then my enemies will be sorry and also impressed at how cool I look" approach. This method also ends up with you feeling much more capable than the first guy, even though they got to have more fun earlier.


That was a lot of words to say "game good, if a little overwhelming initially". Here's a trailer. It may contain the following verbs: punch. Punch but big. Slide. Slam. Dodge. Throw weapon. Grab weapon in midair. Kick. Wall run. Block. Parry. Have impeccable android butt.

TEXNOPLAZM arrives in 2025

Mark your calendars: TEXNOPLAZM is coming to Early Access in 2025!


The Early Access release (exact release window TBA) will contain the prologue featured in the public demo plus the first three action-packed chapters, each one divided into multiple levels, offering the same structure you experienced in the demo – but with even more surprises.
The Early Access release will also entroduce brand-new systems that haven't been showcased in any public version yet, let's have a look at them.

What to expect


- New abilities and upgraded movesets
Unlock powerful active and passive upgrades at hidden terminals by uncovering every secret in select levels. You’ll have the freedom to toggle or switch upgrades anytime to suit your strategy.
Active upgrades will count as special moves that can be activated once their meter is full, while passive upgrades will improve moves or interactions that are present in the core game loop.

- Gear Up for Combat
Prepare to wield new melee weapons, guns, and more. Even better, the aforementioned upgrades will bring fresh ways to interact with your arsenal, opening even more stylish options at every encounter.

- Challenging Enemies
Face off against brand-new enemy types and bosses as you progress through the chapters, each one testing your skills in unique ways.

- General improvements
Enemy AI, combat stats and global systems will undergo rebalancing to make the core game loop as fluid as possible. Improved performance and expanded game settings to allow players more freedom in tailoring the experience.
