Patch 0.044
New Features:
• Now, when an enemy NPC dies, a backpack drops to mark the spot where you can loot the enemy as before.
 • Bullet impact sounds for metal, wood, dirt, stone, brick, and other surfaces have been changed to better match real-life sound characteristics, making combat more immersive.
Changes and Improvements:
• Based on your feedback, sounds from outside are now muffled when you enter the shelter at the Free Stalkers’ base.
 • The factions Strike and Bandits are now allied and will no longer attack each other.
 • Fixed an issue where items such as magazines or loot close to the backpack grab area would cause the backpack to shake and hover in the air.
 • Fixed an issue with the backpack: if you grabbed it with your left hand and tried to transfer it to the right hand in the auto-return zone, it would still go to the slot, dragging your hand with it. This issue has now been resolved.
 • New vegetation, including small bushes with flowers, strawberries, small shrubs, and mushrooms, has been added to some locations in the Ultra+ graphics preset.
 • Cabinets and drawers that the player can open have been improved — previously, it was possible to pass through cabinet doors.
 • Improved enemy faction AI.
 • Fixed some script errors that could partially affect gameplay.
 • Improved textures for certain objects.
 • Made adjustments to certain levels.
Additional Notes:
Game performance has been improved. Initially, I had to test the game on a 5700X processor and RTX3080 graphics card with a Valve Index headset at 80Hz and 150% upscaling. Now, I can freely test the game at 90Hz and hope to achieve stable FPS at 120Hz. The 5700X processor paired with a 4070Ti Super graphics card and Valve Index now runs smoothly at 90Hz with 190% upscaling.

Hotfix 0.042
Changes and Improvements:
• Adjusted grip for the Desert Eagle. Previously, it was slightly angled upwards; now, the alignment is more precise.
 • Adjusted grip for the Glock 19zo. Previously, it was also slightly angled upwards; now, the alignment is more accurate.
 • Redesigned the two-handed grip for the Glock 19zo. It’s now the same as the Desert Eagle.
 • Fixed an issue with reloading the Glock 19zo. Although the ammunition was compatible, the code lacked a tag confirming reloading ability. Thanks to WayOfNature for pointing this out.
 • Improved the workbench: previously, it was possible to accidentally grab the foregrip and displace the weapon from the slot. This wasn't critical but looked unpolished.
 • Fixed ammo display in certain magazines. This didn't affect gameplay, but visually it was incorrect when the ammo count decreased from top to bottom while firing.

Hotfix 0.041

 • Fixed a bug that prevented placing the magazine for the new Desert Eagle in the backpack or chest slot.
 • Fixed a bug that prevented placing the magazine for the new GLOCK 19zo in the backpack or chest slot.

What can I say, my mistake. It's really hard to keep track of everything alone, but thank you to my players who pointed this out so quickly—especially to the player with the nickname Anomalous!
New Additions:
• A new quest for obtaining the OTs-14 "Groza" has been added. The quest can be received at the "Free Stalkers" base. It’s linked to the "Cursed Tunnels" quest chain. Available only after finding the PDA with coordinates leading to the "Landfill."
 • Added a new AKS-74U rifle. It can be found in the Zone or purchased on the "Black Market."
 • Added a new AK-74M rifle. It can be found in the Zone or purchased on the "Black Market."
 • Added a new sniper rifle, 17 "Ghost," which can be bought in some stores on the "Black Market" or found in the Zone.
 • Added a new OTs-14 "Groza" rifle, which can only be found in the Zone or acquired through a quest.
 • Added a new GLOCK 19zo pistol. It can be found in the Zone or purchased on the "Black Market."
 • Added a new model of DESERT EAGLE; the previous model, to say the least, didn’t look very good. It can be found in the Zone or bought on the "Black Market." The old model has been removed from sale and can no longer be purchased, though it might still be found. Unlike the old model, the new one can be modified.
 • Added a new collimator sight TN20112024. It can be found in the Zone or purchased on the "Black Market."
 • Added a new tactical laser SE119G. It can be found in the Zone or purchased on the "Black Market."
 • Added two new magazines for the AK family of rifles; the old model has been discontinued, making it a rare item. However, it can still be found in the Zone.
 • Added a new ammo box for the OTs-14 "Groza," which can be bought on the "Black Market."
 • Added another weapon rack at the "Free Stalkers" base. At the request of one of the players — I think they’ll know who I’m talking about. :)
 • Returning players at the base can find a gift of three full magazines for the AK.
Changes and Improvements:
• The AKS-74 has been removed from sale on the "Black Market" and is now considered a rare item in the Zone, though it can still occasionally be found there.
 • The tutorial mission can now be skipped, even if it’s your first time playing. To do this, simply click "Start Game" on the panel when the level begins, and you’ll jump right into gameplay. Previously, it could only be skipped after completing it at least once.
 • The economic aspect of the game has been revised. Some weapons have increased in price, while others have become slightly cheaper.
 • The AI-Life system has been improved: now there will be more random encounters and skirmishes in many locations.
 • The selection of items in the "Black Market" shops has been slightly modified and expanded. Currently, they can be found at the following locations: "Free Stalkers Base," "Shelter 05," "Outpost."
 • Fixed the quest description for the AFU renegades; after completing the task, the PDA would still show the quest, indicating that you still needed to find and eliminate them.
 • Workbench improvements: previously, when attaching a flashlight or laser pointer to a weapon, it would turn on for a second and then turn off. This has now been fixed.
 • Improved certain building textures.
 • Improved some weapon textures.
 • Various tweaks made to certain levels.
 • Fixed some bugs that could impact game progression.

Remember, stalkers: I read all your suggestions and comments and try to respond promptly, provided they’re not just "everything is broken" without details :). The Zone is constantly changing, and each trip into it is a new challenge. Stay alert and cautious. Good luck out there! There’s much more awaiting you!

Zone Report: Issue 4

Hello everyone! I’d like to share what awaits you in the upcoming update: changes in pricing on the "Black Market," an improved AI-Life system in many locations, more random encounters, more faction skirmishes, and, of course, new types of weapons and attachments!

Weapons that will be added to the game:

 • 17 "Ghost" — the younger sibling in the "Ghost" sniper rifle family, but younger doesn’t mean weaker. Unlike the 27 "Ghost," this model has even more surprises.

 • AKM — rumors say that secret O.S.Z. warehouses have been found in the Zone, containing nearly new weapons. Excellent damage and, most importantly, enhanced durability. This is no worn-out AK that’s seen many fights in the Zone!

 • AKS-74U — found in the same warehouses as the AKM, perfect for close and medium-range combat enthusiasts.

 • Desert Eagle — as many may have noticed, the current version of this pistol in the game doesn’t look very impressive. Therefore, we’ve decided to replace it with an updated version. Additionally, you’ll now be able to attach accessories like a tactical flashlight and a collimator sight.

 • GLOCK 19zo — the origin of this model is unknown; some say a military stash was discovered, others that an abandoned container with these pistols was found. But now every stalker in the Zone dreams of having one. With a 19-round magazine, decent damage, and attachment options from flashlights to laser sights, this pistol stands on par with automatic weapons.

 • OTs-14 "Groza" — rumors are spreading that a rare weapon type has been found in the Zone. Is it true? I think we’ll find out soon in the update.
